  • Red Dead 2 Challenge Guide: Every Challenge And How To Trigger Them

As you play Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll start to see notifications informing you that you’ve completed a challenge. Now this all sounds fine and dandy, but you’re likely asking yourself: “What does completing challenges do? Heck, why should I even bother completing them?” That’s a fair question, and we’re here to answer it.

Challenges are gameplay feats you complete to earn XP and unlock upgraded equipment for purchase at your local trapper, such as new Gun Belts, Bandoliers, Holsters, and Off-Hand Holsters. Each piece posses its own perks that increase either ammo capacity or decrease weapon degradation rate. Equipping them even improves your general statistics, but more on that in a second.

There are nine challenge categories in total, each with ten feats to complete. As you’d expect, the feats vary per category. For example, the Bandit challenges has you working to hold up townsfolk, steal wagons, and amass a sizable bounty, while the Explorer challenges focus on you finding treasure. It’s important to note that you must complete challenges in sequential order, so you can’t just prioritize completing the seventh challenge over the first few only because it’s easier.

Completing challenges is a worthwhile endeavor, as the equipment you unlock offer bonus bars around your Health, Stamina, and Dead Eye Cores when you complete the set. You are rewarded an extra bar when you complete one of the three sets associated with that statistic. And you unlock an additional bar to that statistic once you’ve acquired all three sets associated with it. The table below contains details on which equipment set is associated with which attribute.

    Attribute Equipment Set
    Health
    • Horseman
    • Sharpshooter
    • Weapons Expert
    Stamina
    • Bandit
    • Gambler
    • Master Hunter
    Dead Eye
    • Explorer
    • Herbalist
    • Survivalist

There’s even an extra bonus in store for you upon completing all 90 challenges. You unlock a special outfit called “Legend of the East,” which provides hefty bonuses to Arthur’s statistics. If that’s something you’re aspiring towards, you’re in luck as we’ve compiled every single challenge in the game for your reference, so get crackin’!

  • GTA 5 Black Friday Ad Deals For PS4 And Xbox One

Rockstar’s open-world epic, Grand Theft Auto V, may be over five years old at this point, but the game is still consistently one of the best-selling titles on PS4 and Xbox One every month. It’s also one of the most commercially successful video games of all time, shipping more than 100 million units worldwide. If you’re one of the seemingly few remaining people who have yet to pick the title up (or plan on giving it to someone this holiday season), you’ll be able to find some good deals on it this Black Friday.

Many retailers have already begun sharing their Black Friday ads ahead of the big shopping day, giving you the opportunity to scope out all of the sales before embarking on your retail expedition. While there don’t seem to be too many deals on GTA V as of yet, the best one at the moment can be found at Best Buy. The electronics giant is selling GTA V: Premium Online Edition for $20. This edition comes with the base game as well as some freebies for GTA Online, including the Criminal Enterprise starter pack, a handful of vehicles, weapons, and more.

Walmart will also have a discount on the Premium Online Edition of GTA V this year. Starting at 6 PM local time on Thanksgiving, you can pick up the open-world game for $25. You’ll be able to snag it before then if you’re planning on doing your shopping online; Walmart’s Black Friday deals kick off on Walmart.com on Wednesday, November 21 at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET, while Best Buy will offer its deals even sooner in some cases.

GTA V first launched to critical acclaim back in 2013. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10 in our GTA V review, calling it “the bar by which all other open-world games, or indeed any game that aims for a cinematic feel, should be judged.” Despite its age, Rockstar continues to roll out new content for its GTA Online mode, such as the recent After Hours nightclub update.

You can see all of the GTA V deals so far below. We’ll continue to update this list as more deals are announced, so be sure to check back often for the best savings you can find on GTA V. This year, Black Friday falls on November 23; you can find even more discounts on other games, TVs, and more in our Black Friday roundup.

  • Microsoft Store's Black Friday 2018 Ad Released Early

Joining retailers like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy, Microsoft has pulled the trigger early and announced many of the deals that will be available through the Microsoft Store on Black Friday 2018. While the official date for the shopping holiday is November 23, Black Friday prices begin online at 12 AM ET November 22 / 9 PM PT November 21.

What kind of deals will we see? For starters, you’ll be able to save money on Xbox One consoles. The Xbox One S Minecraft Creators Bundle will be $100 off, bringing it down to $200. If you have a 4K TV or plan to get one soon, you might be better off picking up an Xbox One X for $400 (also $100 off). Xbox One X and S bundles will be $70 off; these include pack-in games like Battlefield V, Fallout 76, NBA 2K19, and more.

If you’re in the market for services and you’re not already a member, you can get a one-month membership to Xbox Game Pass for $1; that deal is actually live now and will continue through Black Friday. Xbox Game Pass lets you download and play a selection of over 100 games, including all games recently published by Microsoft, like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4. Starting November 15, new members can get a month’s worth of Xbox Live Gold for $1 as well.

Starting on November 22, you can save $10 off Xbox Design Lab wireless controllers, whose color combinations you can design yourself. If you’re fine with the pre-made Xbox One controller designs, you’ll be able to pick those up for $20 off (including Elite Xbox One controllers).

No individual game discounts have been announced yet, but we’ve been assured we’ll see price drops on at least a few games on Black Friday. You can see more items in Microsoft’s Black Friday sneak peek, or check out all of the Black Friday deals announced so far.

  • PUBG Black Friday 2018 Deals (Xbox One)

With Black Friday getting closer, more deals have sprung up for the big sales day on November 23. While you can’t act on these deals at this time, it’s good to know what’s coming up before the busiest sales day of the year. One of the deals we’ve highlighted here is for Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, otherwise known as PUBG.

As of now, PUBG on Xbox One will have some upcoming sales at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart for less than $20. In addition to this game, we also had an upcoming look at sales for other games including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, God of War, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4–which recently launched the series’ first crack at the battle royale genre.

Though other games like Fortnite have overtaken PUBG’s former dominance in the growing field of free-for-all games, it’s still a popular title and has a solid player base on both PC and Xbox One. With three different maps to fight it out on, and featuring many different types of skins, weapon decals, and other customization options–PUBG focuses a lot more on tactical gameplay compared to the Fortnite’s more arcadey style action. The most recent event happening in the world of PUBG is a promotional tie-in featuring the Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

In our review of PUBG last year, editor Michael Higham gave it an 8 and stated: “PUBG’s technical shortcomings can undermine its broader achievements on rare occasions, but they don’t override your desire to continue playing. Each phase of a match presents a different type of tension that is equal parts thrilling and terrifying, driven by the insatiable desire to be the last person (or squad) standing. Whether you play solo or in a group, successfully executing adaptive tactics to win intense, high-stakes firefights makes for an incredibly rewarding experience. Every player has unique stories of their most memorable matches, and even after hundreds of hours, PUBG continues to inspire rousing tales of victory and defeat.”

There’s still many more deals coming in the time leading up to Black Friday. Remember, many of these until the time of Black Friday, so keep that in mind when you’re sorting through these deals early. If you want to know more about what’s coming up, be sure check out our roundup of Black Friday deals on GameSpot.

  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey Black Friday 2018 PS4 And Xbox One Deals

Among the biggest game releases of the fall season has been Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. That’s true both in terms of its stature, coming as the latest game in a major franchise, and its sheer size–it’s a long game with a staggeringly large map. Despite having only released in October, Odyssey is among the games you’ll find on sale this Black Friday.

Despite still being a couple weeks away, the first Black Friday ads have been released. While there are many more to come, Target’s ad led the way and confirmed Odyssey will be discounted during Black Friday. It’ll be $35 for a physical copy of the game on both PS4 and Xbox One, a price we’ve since seen matched in the Walmart ad. However, the best price so far comes from Best Buy, where Odyssey will cost only $30.

The various digital game stores could also discount Odyssey, and some physical retailers may even offer the digital version, as we saw with Walmart last year. We don’t yet know if it will be discounted on PC, so stay tuned for more details.

Odyssey was well received upon its release, further building on the RPG shift the series took with 2017’s Origins. It allows you to play as a male or female protagonist as you choose between the siblings Alexios and Kassandra. The aforementioned large world map is comprised of many landmasses, but there’s also plenty of sea for some Black Flag-style naval action.

In our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey review, Alessandro Fillari wrote that the game’s “ambition is admirable, which is reflected in its rich attention to detail for the era and its approach to handling the multi-faceted narrative with strong protagonists at the lead, While its large-scale campaign–clocking in at over 50 hours–can occasionally be tiresome, and some features don’t quite make the impact they should, Odyssey makes great strides in its massive and dynamic world, and it’s a joy to venture out and leave your mark on its ever-changing setting.”

Ubisoft has plans for both free and paid DLC for Odyssey, as the company hopes to keep you playing long-term; there won’t be a new Assassin’s Creed game released in 2019.

Below you’ll find the complete list of Black Friday deals on Odyssey. It’s quite brief for now, but we’ll continue to update this as more ads are revealed.

  • Crackdown 3's Cloud-Powered Multiplayer Is Real and We Finally Played It

Dropping an entire building on my enemies while leaping up in the skies and going through the windows of a building has never been so colorful until I did it in the multiplayer mode of Crackdown 3. At this past weekend’s X018 event, Microsoft gave a new, earlier release date for their next big first-party exclusive (February 15) and formally presented its multiplayer mode. It’s called Wrecking Zone, it puts the “power of the cloud” to work, in real time, and we got to play it.

The mode we tried is called Agent Hunter. This is a 5v5 match where both teams have to face each other in a 10-minute round. The objective is to kill and obtain the greatest number of Badges that the enemies drop when they die. The twist in this mode is that what counts is not the kills, but the Badges obtained. These disappear after 10 seconds, so you must be fast or have been close to the enemy to get them, otherwise your effort will have been in vain. Considering that enemies can be over or below you, you have to think twice when and where you make that final shot.
