Fallout 76 Is Now Live And Playable

Bethesda Softworks’ open-world multiplayer experiment, Fallout 76, was set to go live at midnight tonight, but the game is already live and players around the world are diving into its post-apocalyptic world.

We’ve tested a standard retail disc and were able to play, and a number of Twitch streamers are also showing off their playthrough. Online stores still list Fallout 76 for pre-order, but if you got your copy early somehow (as some people on Twitter have reported) then you should be able to start playing today.

  • PUBG Coming To PS4 In December

PUBG Coming To PS4 In December

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to the PlayStation 4 next month, confirming earlier reports that the PC and Xbox One game was coming to Sony’s console.

The game is coming December 7, and it includes a pair of in-game items from Uncharted and The Last of Us. You can see them at the tail end of the announcement trailer, below.

The game is available in several incarnations. The Looter’s Edition sells for $30, and it includes the base game. For $50, players get the Survivor’s Edition, which includes the base game, 2,300 G-Coins, 20,000 BPs, and the Survivor Pass: Vikendi, which unlocks additional in-game rewards. God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man are both up for Game of the Year, where they’ll have to compete against Celeste, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and – let’s be honest here – inevitable winner Red Dead Redemption 2 for the top honours.

You can find the full list of nominees (and vote) on the event’s official website, but at the time of typing keep in mind that its servers are getting hammered. • Hitman 2 Now Available on Xbox One

Agent 47 is back in Hitman 2, and we’re getting ready to celebrate! Hitman 2 is now available around the world for everyone to play.

We’re very happy and excited to release the next adventure for Agent 47, and we’re especially proud to build on the success of our previous game, while also incorporating brand-new, franchise-first features and game modes!

In Hitman 2, we’re taking you around the world to Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand), Miami (Florida/U.S.), Santa Fortuna (Colombia), Mumbai (India), Whittleton Creek (Vermont/U.S.) and the mysterious Isle of Sgàil (North Atlantic). Each new location is hyper-detailed and packed to the brim with opportunities to discover, characters to meet, conversations to overhear, disguises to try on, items to use and accidents to create. Your ultimate goal is to eliminate your targets and get out alive, but there’s so much more to it than that. There are hundreds of challenges, three difficulty levels and of course, the coveted Silent Assassin rating to aim for!

In addition to the deep storyline that delves into Agent 47’s origins, Hitman 2 includes two new multiplayer modes that literally change the way you play the game. First is Sniper Assassin, a mode that is all about the long-range kill. Either solo as Agent 47, or in online co-op as either Stone or Knight (two new ICA operatives), you must take down your targets to earn points, unlock challenges and upgrade your rifle. The Himmelstein map is the first one available and takes place during a wedding in an Austrian mansion.

The other new multiplayer mode is Ghost Mode, a 1-versus-1 competitive mode that puts players in direct competition. You or your opponent need to be the first to earn five target kills, making sure that you pull off the kill without anyone seeing it happen. The cool thing about Ghost Mode is that you and your friend are in different realities, which means you’re in control of everything that happens in your game. If your opponent gets into a gun fight, that doesn’t affect you. However, we do have Ghost coins that allow you to interact with your opponent’s reality, as well as your own.

It’s a fun, sometimes frantic mode that has a very different ‘feel’ to the campaign missions, Sniper Assassin maps and the free live content, such as Elusive Targets – which are coming back by the way!

We’ve got big, ambitious plans for our post-launch live content and proof of that is the first Elusive Target arriving on November 20, starring Sean Bean. Once this mission is live, you’ll have to take out Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent turned freelance assassin, before he can complete a contract at the Global Innovation Race event in Miami. Entitled The Undying, this Elusive Target will run for 14 days so be sure not to miss out! And just by playing the mission, you’ll unlock the Explosive Pen, which is as awesome as it sounds.

It’s a very proud moment for the entire IO Interactive team to release Hitman 2 and put it into the hands of our players for the first time. We’ve come a long way to release the game and, in many ways, we’re just getting started!

    We’ll see you online.

  • PUBG PS4 Lands Exclusive Uncharted, The Last of Us Content

    Dress as Drake.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG as it’s better known, has taken its sweet time coming to the PlayStation 4 – but Sony’s system will finally get its first chicken dinner next month. Of course, to make up for the delay, developer Bluehole has prepared some PlayStation-themed goodies for anyone who pre-orders the title.

The exclusive cosmetic extras are both themed on Naughty Dog titles, and include a Nathan Drake skin inspired by his Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception outfit and Ellie’s backpack from The Last of Us. Pre-orders are live now, starting at $29.99 for the base game and going all the way up to $59.99 for the Champion’s Digital Edition. You can learn more about all the options through here.

  • Review: Chimparty – Mario Party for Chumps

    Monkeying about.

Developed by NapNok Games, Chimparty is one of PlayLink’s first forays into the family game market, something it pulls off with mixed success. On first impressions, its art style is very endearing, with colourful characters and nicely-themed levels being easy on the eye. The fact that you can unlock items throughout the game for you to customise your chimp with is a nice little touch, too.

Issues start to crop up when the gameplay starts, however. The main part of Chimparty is the board game mode, similar to Mario Party, where every player competes to reach the first by winning the minigames that occur every turn. The board is a little confusingly laid out, and since every space can only fit one player on it, it’s easy to forget who is placed where after a minigame.

  • PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Officially Announced for PS4

    Hits next month.

And just like that, the inevitable has happened. Just confirmed via PlayStation, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to PlayStation 4 following the game’s one year Xbox One console exclusivity. You can watch the trailer above if you don’t believe us.

Obviously this announcement has been coming — it feels like the whole thing was leaked an eternity ago. PUBG, as it’s commonly known, will launch on the 7th December on Sony’s system.

  • Fallout 76's PS4 Servers Go Live Earlier Than Expected

    It’s Bethesda’s vault.

Fallout 76’s servers weren’t supposed to go live until midnight on 14th November, but you can play it on the PlayStation 4 right now. Betheda’s online open world RPG is currently playable in the UK, and we’re hearing reports that the same is true across Europe and in various other regions, too. Of course, it’s entirely possible this could be an error, so your mileage may vary.

We’ll have a review of the multiplayer title in the coming days, but we’ve decided to wait until we can play on retail servers like everyone else. In the meantime, you can read our first impressions through here, but a word of warning first: they’re not exactly glowing.
