  • The Diablo III HOME Menu Icon On Nintendo Switch Has Finally Been Updated

    Hell, it’s about time.

When Diablo III: Eternal Collection unleashed hell on the Switch at the start of November, the game was widely praised for being a port that didn’t cut corners or content just to make the experience function and fit on Nintendo’s hybrid device.

According to Nintendo Insider, the developer has a total of three games currently in development for Nintendo Switch. The first, as we’ve known since last year’s Game Awards, is Bayonetta 3. As for the other two titles – take a guess.

  • FNAF Movie From Harry Potter Director Facing Delay After Creator Vetoes Script

The upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie from game creator Scott Cawthon that’s being directed by Harry Potter director Chris Columbus has been delayed. Cawthon said in a Steam post that he vetoed the script, so the writers are working on a new one instead.

Columbus liked the script, as did Jason Blumhouse, who is head of the production company Blumhouse (The Purge, Halloween, Get Out), Cawthon said in his post (via Variety). However, Cawthon had a better idea, so they scrapped the earlier draft in favour of something new.

“I take responsibility for this delay; it’s my fault,” Cawthon said.

Writing a good FNAF movie script has been a “real challenge for everyone,” Cawthon said. While it’s been difficult, Cawthon said he won’t compromise on the story.

“I’m determined to find the right story,” he said. “I’m sticking to what I’ve always said: either the right movie gets made or no movie gets made. I hate delaying a project that’s already seen so many delays, but I have to go with my instincts on what I think will be exciting and interesting, and what I think the fanbase will really want to see.

“If that means that I have to start over ten more times, then that’s what I’m going to do. The good thing is that each attempt gets better and better, in my opinion. So, despite the delays, it’s going in the right direction.”

The upcoming FNAF movie, and whatever sequels may come after it, exist in the universe of FNAF 1-3 only, not FNAF 4 or any of the spinoffs. “The games after Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 will not exist in the movie universe. Like it or hate it, I felt that this was the best portion of the storyline to really focus in on,” Cawthon said.

There is no word as of yet regarding a release date, cast, or plot details for the FNAF film. In the game, players must survive in a scary version of Chuck E. Cheese’s that’s full of animatronic monsters. It is quite terrifying.

The FNAF series debuted in August 2014 on PC and has since been ported to iOS. Sequels Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, 3, and 4 followed, along with spinoffs Pizzeria Simulator and Sister Location.

  • Spider-Man's Second DLC, City That Never Sleeps – Turf Wars, Release Date Announced

Spider-Man's Second DLC, City That Never Sleeps – Turf Wars, Release Date Announced

Those who have finished the first chapter of Spider-Man‘s The City That Never Sleeps story, called The Heist, know it ended with a cliffhanger. Sony and Insomniac have now teased the second part of that continuing story with Turf Wars, coming on November 20. It packs the next chapter of the story and three more DLC Spidey suits.

After being spoken about in hushed tones in The Heist, the mob boss Hammerhead takes center stage in Turf Wars. Here he’s continuing his war on the other crime families, and he’s brought some heavy-duty equipment left by Sable’s mercenaries after her appearance in the main campaign. Turf Wars will include new story missions, bases to complete, crimes, challenges and trophies.

The DLC will also introduce another set of Spidey suits. This time they include the Spider-Armor MK-I suit, the Marvel Mangaverse Spider-Clan suit, and the comic version of the Iron Spider Armor. The comics Iron Spider looks a bit different than the one presented in Avengers: Infinity War, which already appeared in the game.

    No Caption Provided

Turf Wars is available for $10 individually, or as part of the season pass for $25. That will get you access to all three packs–The Heist, Turf Wars, and Silver Lining, which is due in December.

  • Ebay's “Better Than Black Friday” Beats Best Xbox One Controller Sale

Ebay has announced another sales promotion revolving around Black Friday, but this one boasts that it’s better than Black Friday. The promotion centers on a full week of beating competitor prices for the retail holiday across several items. The promotion runs November 12-18, and the prices go into effect at 5 AM PT each day. [Update: It’s now Tuesday, meaning another of the new deals from Ebay is now live, including the Xbox One controller deal that beats what we’ve seen during Black Friday.]

The deal for today, Monday, for example is a Samsung 32″ Smart LED HD TV for $175, beating the advertised Target deal of $179. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 13, it’s offering an Xbox One wireless controller for $35, undercutting Walmart’s price of $39. The deals will also include NBA 2K19 for $27 (vs $30 at Target) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for $44 (vs $45 at Target). Apple AirPods are going for $149.

Naturally, these game and tech deals come alongside several other discounts on other items, from coffee makers to boots to watches. Ebay is also offering free shipping on these deals, and a “Best Price Guarantee” that will give 110% the price difference on competitors. You can check out the full line-up at the Ebay deal site.

Black Friday is traditionally the Friday immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday, but as retailers compete for customers the discounts have begun expanding to the weeks before and after as well. It’s a good time to grab cheap games and hardware, so check out our Black Friday deals roundups for all the best prices.

  • Crackdown 3's New Wrecking Zone Multiplayer Mode Debuts At X018

Alongside a release date for Crackdown 3, Microsoft took time at its X018 stage presentation to show off the first look at its open world game’s new multiplayer mode. The Wrecking Zone mode takes place inside a custom, destructible arena and has you wreak havoc.

Presented as a training exercise for Agents, Wrecking Zone pits two teams of five against each other. An extended gameplay demonstration showed the teams smashing their ways through walls and crumbling the floor beneath them. The brief show detailed two maps, called Blackout Zone and Nova Station, along with two modes, Territories and Agent Station. It was co-developed by Sumo Digital, Elbow Rocket, and Certain Affinity.

Crackdown 3 is now slated for a February 15, 2019 release, after multiple delays. As a first-party game it will be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on the day of release. Plus it’s a Play Anywhere game, so you can purchase it on Xbox One and play on PC, or vice-versa.

As part of the promotion now that a release date has been announced, Microsoft is giving away the original 2007 Crackdown as a free backwards compatible download through November 30.

Saving Planet Earth in Ark: Extinction, Available Now on Xbox One

Everyone here at Studio Wildcard is thrilled to finally be sharing our third titanic expansion pack Ark: Extinction with our dedicated Xbox One players today. This has been a long time coming!

Players will return to where our story began and now concludes, on Earth. However, our home is not the place we once knew it to be. The planet has been ravaged by Element, corrupting the fauna and flora alike. Now host to peculiar creatures both organic and technological, as well as gigantic roaming Titans, our harrowing survivors must find a way to defeat these beasts and save Earth’s future from total annihilation.

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

With every expansion pack we’ve set out to bring our players an entirely new experience that feels different to the one prior, but still captures the original game’s essence. We have stayed along the path of sci-fi fantasy but we’ve also focused more heavily on the technological advancements that have transpired on the planet during our time away from home.

At the heart of Extinction you’ll find a towering but decaying metropolis still protected by a force of robotic guards known as Scouts and Enforcers. Outside of the city there are three Proto-Arks, the earliest iterations of the Ark project. Two of them were successful, the desert and the tundra, while the third, the forest, fell into a crater under the surface of the Earth and became a dark but flourishing home to many species of plants and critters. Between these regions lies the unprotected terrain of wastelands and sulfur fields, a perilous region where creatures corrupted by Element plague and destroy anything in their path.

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

To aid players on their dangerous adventures they will be able to recruit many new and perhaps bizarre creatures. One such creature is the Managarmr, capable of leaping great distances through the air. Another is the Velonasaur, serving as a living turret; it can forcefully eject toxic spines from its face to protect itself and its master from threats. Even the massive Titans themselves are tameable if you can manage to take them down.

We remain extremely grateful for the passion and dedication of fans everywhere. The studio has grown considerably since launching Ark: Survival Evolved on Xbox One nearly a year-and-a-half ago. We truly cannot wait to see the feedback from survivors as they explore Extinction. We look forward to seeing how these new items and creatures will impact the game and community. Build giant pistol and sword-wielding mechanical armor suits, cryo your creatures and carry massive dinosaurs around in your pocket, build tek-enhanced bridges across impossible gaps, the world is yours to discover — and that’s what we believe is Ark’s greatest aspect. We create the tools and the environment; you create the adventures.

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

    Ark: Extinction Screenshot

One of Ark’s core values has always been survival. How far will humanity go to ensure not only its survival but its domination? We invite you to dive into the final chapter and complete your conquest. Gain sought-after answers to advance the storyline and finally determine the true purpose of the Ark network. Welcome home, survivors!

Ark: Extinction is now available digitally on the Microsoft Store as an Xbox Play Anywhere title – buy once and play on both Xbox One and Windows 10. Ark: Extinction requires a copy of Ark: Survival Evolved to play.
