“But in the blink of an eye, everything changed…” Sony Pictures has revealed one more trailer for the sci-fi movie Passengers, starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence as the only two people awake on an interstellar spaceship traveling to another solar system. We’ve seen lots of footage this by now, with plenty of trailers to choose from, but this one has even more scenes that haven’t been shown yet. This new trailer also features the song “Levitate” by Imagine Dragons, which helps set the mood for the romance. They’re definitely selling the love angle in this trailer, showing Lawrence eventually falling for Pratt, despite their circumstances. Fine with me, I just hope it brings big audiences in to see this! More sci-fi movies, the better. ›››

“See how I kill you.” Nothing like a Chinese ripoff to keep you warm this winter. A trailer for a film titled Mad Shelia: Virgin Road has been making its way around the web this week. The film is the first in a series, with the next one coming out in 2017 titled Mad Shelia: Revenge of the Road, that is pretty much a direct ripoff of Mad Max: Fury Road. Fuo Xiao stars as Xi Liya, a bounty hunter who rescues a bunch of virgins from desert warlords. These kind of ripoffs are not uncommon in China, as they’re often known as “wang da”, short for “wangluo da dianying” or “big internet films”, made for cheap without much oversight and released straight to the web via the Tencent Video platform. Watch this trailer just for fun, nothing else. ›››

Time to get in the holiday spirit! While this is more of an advertisement than a short, it’s worth watching anyway because it’s directed by Wes Anderson (and this kind of work is becoming increasingly common these days with filmmakers). Come Together is a short film holiday ad directed by Wes Anderson, starring Adrien Brody. As others have pointed out, it’s kind of a nice The Darjeeling Limited reunion given that it takes place on a train. Brody plays a conductor who has to figure out some makeshift plans when he learns the train is going to be very late. It’s charming, and has all the usual Wes Anderson quirks & accoutrements. ›››

According to a new report, Microsoft’s Xbox One was more popular than Sony’s PlayStation 4 on Black Friday when it came to online sales in the United States. A report released by Adobe claims that the top five best-selling electronics products for Black Friday were iPads, Samsung 4K TVs, Macbook Air, LG TVs, and Xbox consoles.

It wasn’t mentioned where the PS4 ranked, though it wasn’t in the Top 5. Importantly, Adobe’s report is for online sales only.
The Xbox One S and PS4 Slim, which came with at least one bundled game, were offered for only $250 on Black Friday, representing possibly the best official price on either console ever. If you missed out on the Xbox offer, Amazon is still selling the Battlefield 1 bundle for that price.
Adobe also listed off some hard-to-find products for Black Friday. Some of the products that were mostly likely to run out of stock included the NES Classic Edition and PlayStation VR.
Adobe reports that overall Black Friday online sales (which includes the evening of Thanksgiving Day), amounted to $5.27 billion, which is up 17.7 percent year-over-year. According to the report, $1.93 billion was spent on Thanksgiving Day, with the remaining $3.34 billion posted on Black Friday.
Looking at the entire season (November 1-24), the PS4 remains the best-selling console, with Xbox One coming in second, according to the report. In terms of games, Pokemon Sun and Moon were on top, followed by “Call of Duty,” which is presumably a reference to Infinite Warfare.
The report is based on aggregated and anonymous data from 22.6 billion visits to retail sites. Adobe claims to measure 80 percent of all online transactions from the leading 100 US retailers.
The Xbox One has been the best-selling console in the US since July. Numbers for November aren’t out yet, but if Adobe’s estimates are accurate, it sounds like the PS4 will be No. 1 in November. The NPD Group is expected to officially announce the figures in the beginning of December.

Square Enix’s long-awaited Final Fantasy XV is out today, and to mark the release, the publisher put out an impressive-looking live-action trailer. Titled “Stand Together,” the video shows a group of boys about to be smashed to pieces by a hulking beast before Noctis and crew save the day. It’s a cool video, and the use of Florence Welch’s “Stand by Me” cover is a nice touch. Take a look:
In development for almost a decade, Final Fantasy XV is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. GameSpot’s review scored it an 8/10.
“While it’s safe to assume fans and outsiders will find some aspect of Final Fantasy XV disappointing–be it the shallow story or finnicky Astrals–it would be hard for anyone to deny that Final Fantasy XV is a fascinating game after giving it a chance,” reviewer Peter Brown said. “Where its characters fail to impress, Final Fantasy XV’s beautiful world and exciting challenges save the day.”
