The latest Honest Game Trailer focuses on gaming’s favorite high-speed collision of universes, Kingdom Hearts. As with most Honest Trailers, the Disney-Square Enix mash-up comes out a pile of twisted metal (and cartoon duck bills). But the trailer also raises a good question: where’s our Pixar world?

Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe concludes on July 17 as the world’s tiniest superhero finally hits the big screen. Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed, is finally coming after years of development, and the first trailer for the film is here.
Paul Rudd plays Scott Lang, a thief who teams up with genius Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to attempt to hide Pym’s incredible technology which can shrink him to the size of an ant. The film co-stars Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Judy Greer.
The Ant-Man trailer premiered during the pilot episode of Marvel’s Agent Carter but you can watch right now, right here.

So – what did you think of the trailer? I have to say, it’s pretty surprising. The way it starts off very slow, very un-superhero movie suggests once again that Marvel has done something right. They’re putting character ahead of spectacle. And the way it ends, with that Paul Rudd humor, is definitely the tone we were hoping for. (And Rudd and Adam McKay are now credited with the script.)
As for that spectacle, well, that part is a bit less interesting. At least now, seven months out from release. You don’t get a great sense of the action, or the shrinking concept. And the stuff with Scott on the back of the ant feels almost like a different movie. Nevertheless, I feel like Marvel has earned enough good will through walking trees, talking raccoons and numerous other sequels that this will all work well once it comes together. This trailer should quiet skeptics who wrote this movie off after Edgar Wright left.
And don’t forget, this is only our first look. There will be much more in the coming months.
Here’s the official info on Ant-Man:
The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
Peyton Reed directs Marvel’s “Ant-Man” with Kevin Feige producing and Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Edgar Wright and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Marvel’s “AntMan” delivers a high-stakes, tension-filled adventure on July 17, 2015.

The TV version of Fargo created by Noah Hawley was a surprise last year — originally met with not unjustified skepticism, the show quickly proved itself as a thing that could stand on its own. A second season was quickly ordered, and it isn’t just a continuation of what we saw the first time out. No, Fargo Season 2 bounces back in time to the late ’70s to follow the Lou Solverson character (originally played by Keith Carradine, above) as a younger man. Now Hawley has revealed some new Fargo S2 details, which you can get below.
EW talked to Hawley, who revealed a few things about the new season. We know that it focuses on Lou, the father of Alison Tolman’s character from the first season, and that it takes place in Minnesota, with Lou coming home from Vietnam. Carradine won’t play Lou this time, as the character is so much younger in the new season, and Hawley says he probably won’t flash forward to use Carradine at all.
Furthermore, Hawley explained:
It’s about a small-town married couple who find themselves caught in the middle of a war between the last of the mom-and-pop crime syndicates and an out-of-town new corporate crime syndicate. It’s about how the couple manages that situation.
He also says “The scope of the storytelling this season is a lot bigger—thematically, on a character level, and story-wise. It has more of an epic feel to it,” and that they’ve doubled the number of primary characters from four in the first season to about eight this time.
Hawley offers a bit more detail about the setting:
In 1979 in Laverne, Minnesota—a smaller town, about half the size of Bemidji in the first season—you’ve had all your assassinations in the late 60s, you’ve had the Vietnam War, you’ve had Watergate. You’re in an economic recession with gas lines. There’s a real sense that men like Lou Solverson and other veterans have brought this war home with them. There’s a parallel, time-wise, with No Country For Old Men, which took place in ’80 or ’81. As Tommy Lee Jones says, “Crime these days, you just can’t take its measure.”
That only gives us more to think about, really, especially as we wait to see where new series actors Jeffrey Donovan, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Keller, Jesse Plemons fit into the picture and how they work with Hawley’s storytelling.

Nicolas Winding Refn‘s female-led horror film got a new title in November, and as of today it also has a new star. Elle Fanning has just signed on for lead The Neon Demon, which is on track to shoot this spring. More about the Neon Demon Elle Fanning casting news after the jump.
TheWrap reports Fanning will lead The Neon Demon as “an aspiring model who is caught in a world of beauty and demise.” Said Refn, “Elle Fanning is a super cool wonder woman and I look forward to going on a terrifying trip with her into The Neon Demon.”
Refn and Mary Laws scripted The Neon Demon. Plot details are pretty scarce at the moment but Refn has previously explained the picture as follows:
One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty. After making Drive and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of The Neon Demon. This movie is a manifestation of the strong ties between us and will lead to many more adventures.
The Neon Demon seems to be a new iteration of Refn’s I Walk With the Dead. Carey Mulligan attached to lead that one as of a few years ago, but it doesn’t look like she’s involved with The Neon Demon.
At 16, Fanning already has a stronger resume than many actors twice her age. She mixes blockbusters (Maleficent) and indies (Low Down), and has worked with several big-name directors including Cameron Crowe (We Bought a Zoo), Sofia Coppola (Somewhere), and David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
She recently wrapped Jay Roach’s Trumbo and the indie dramedy Three Generations. In addition, she is attached to star in Ben Affleck’s Live By Night, the Mary Shelley biopic A Storm in the Stars, and the Neil Gaiman adaptation How to Talk to Girls at Parties. But it looks like The Neon Demon will move before those, as production is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles this March.

PlayStation Vue, the cloud-based TV service that will bring as many as 75 television and content channels to games consoles, is due for public launch in the first calendar quarter of 2015.
Kaz Hirai, Sony’s chief executive, confirmed the launch plans during his CES keynote speech on Monday. He said that the service would at first come to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
The price model, and international rollout plans, have yet to be revealed.
Vue customers will be given access to live TV, catch-up and on-demand content from six media conglomerates: CBS, Fox, NBC Universal, Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks, and Viacom [Disclosure: CBS is the parent company of GameSpot].
The scores of channels that will launch with the service includes the likes of Animal Planet, National Geographic, Oxygen, Sprout, Syfy, HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Comedy Central, MTV, and Nickelodeon.
In November, the service was previewed by a select group of invite-only beta testers, all based in New York, and Hirai said the commercial rollout would begin “in the first quarter of this year.”
The chief executive claimed that PlayStation Vue “reinvents the television viewing experience.”
He said it “brings the best of live TV, and an extensive catalogue of content, keeping you constantly connected to what’s popular, what’s new, and what’s trending.”
Later, discussing the commercial success of the PlayStation 4, Hirai said PlayStation Vue will help make the console a “comprehensive product platform with unparalleled entertainment experiences.”
