Everyone’s got a wishlist of changes they’d like to see in Destiny. But at least one group of fans actually took the time to show people what their wishlist would look like in action, and it’s neat to watch.

At this year’s PAX East, there’s no problem at all with getting a bunch of Spartans together to have a good time. Maybe it’ll happen on the Xbox One eventually .

A few years back, for the release of his new film, director David Lowery of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (great film) hosted a social media giveaway where they would send prizes to anyone who saw four indie films in one weekend. They sent out some truly one-of-a-kind prizes, including signed scripts and props from the films, but above all just wanted to remind people to support indie films. Well, another filmmaker by the name of Riley Stearns is launching a brand new “Indie Film Giveaway” for three new features that were just released: Lawrence Michael Levine’s Wild Canaries, Joel Potrykus’ Buzzard and Stearns’ Faults. Similar to Lowery’s fun giveaway, it’s as simple as photographing your ticket stubs and emailing them in. ›››

In case you haven’t checked out the latest trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, you’re missing out of an awesome shot with the entire team leaping across the screen into action. However, some fans can’t wait until the team has a new member when Spider-Man enters the Marvel cinematic universe in Captain America: Civil War, and the folks at IGN decided to give them something to keep them at bay. They’ve taken parts of the new trailer for the Marvel sequel and added in footage from various Spider-Man movies to make him integral to the action. It’s a solid edit, and it gets us excited for when he’s really part of the team. ›››

Plenty of films from the 2015 Sundance Film Festival got picked up for release sometime this year or next, but one documentary that’s still waiting to get distribution is The Russian Woodpecker. The film takes a look at what caused the 1986 nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl in Ukraine, exposing that there might be more to the disaster than initially thought. The film is named after the Duga, a gigantic radio-transmitter wall that produces a wood-tapping sound not unlike that of the woodpecker. We missed this one at the festival, so we can’t speak to its greatness, but it won a Grand Jury Prize, so it must be good. Watch below! ›››

Tomorrow brings the release of Faults, the directorial debut of Riley Stearns, to limited theaters, and we’ve already highlighted the intriguing trailer featuring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Leland Orser. For those who don’t know, the film follows a woman (Winstead) still under the mental grip of a mysterious cult who goes through a deprogramming from mind control expert Ansel Roth (Orser) at the behest of the girls’ parents, but with great risk to her health. It certainly looks like one of those indies you’ll want to go out of your way to see, and as one last effort to hype the film, check out this new stylish illustrated poster. ›››

“I think, therefore I am Chappie.” Third times the charm. South African sci-fi director Neill Blomkamp is back with his third feature, titled Chappie, following District 9 and Elysium over the past six years. While he is certainly adept at building one-of-a-kind science fiction worlds, and crazy characters to inhabit them, the stories in each of his three movies have been completely different and often times, unfortunately, the weakest link. Chappie, while on one hand a violent R-rated action film, sorta seems like RoboCop-for-kids designed for teens to go crazy over whenever they finally somehow see it. It’s a lot more fun, totally wild at times, occasionally absurd, and much more charming than I was expecting. And I mean that in a good way. ›››

After Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink and Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer were linked to direct the Disney family comedy Overnight last year, it appears a new director will get behind the camera instead. The film, which is now called Overnight at 42nd Street, will be under the direction of Jared Hess the man who brought us Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre and Gentlemen Broncos. For those just joining us, the film is described as Home Alone in a toy store where a father and son win the chance to sleepover at an incredible toy store, but it just so happens to be on the night that some guys try to rob it. ›››
