Artist RJ Palmer has been doing the whole “realistic Pokemon” thing for a while now , but it’s usually been a case of “oh wow that’s neat”, not “ahhhhh God I’m never going in the ocean again”.

OK, so almost everyone in Final Fantasy dresses terribly, but Nick Wanserski at AV Club makes a pretty strong case for Tidus being the absolute worst. Why? The wallet chain is not helping.

Yesterday, Kirk wrote about the ‘Three Bloodborne Enemies Who Are Just The Worst ‘ — a look at those regular enemies who always somehow manage to hit you, beat you down and break your spirit. It was a cool list, but it got me thinking: what about the Bloodborne enemies who seem really nice?

There’s no doubt that Blumhouse Productions has become quite the producer of horror franchises since hitting it big with Paranormal Activity in 2009. Since then, they’ve launched franchises with Insidious, Sinister and The Purge, and this summer brings another new horror flick in the form of The Gallows. The first teaser trailer has just arrived, and while it doesn’t tell us much about the story following high school kids terrorized by some kind of malicious force after resurrecting a stage production where a student died during a performance, it’s a pretty haunting tease of the terror to come, especially with the red lighting. ›››

While lip syncing is all the rage, with much thanks to Jimmy Fallon’s antics on “The Tonight Show,” not to mention the new Spike TV series “Lip Sync Battle” which just churns out viral clips of celebrities each week, this isn’t anything new. In fact, one of the more iconic lip syncing scenes in entertainment history comes from all the way back in 1986 from the John Hughes teenage romance classic Pretty in Pink. In that film. Jon Cryer plays the hopeless romantic best friend of Andie (Molly Ringwald), and in one entertaining scene, he enters the record store she works in and lip sync’s Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness.” And now Cryer has returned to reenact that scene nearly 30 years later on “The Late Late Show.” Watch below! ›››

We’ll likely hear more about this in the next few days, but it seems Zack Snyder and Warner Bros are on the verge of announcing a big IMAX event being planned for this coming Monday, April 20th. We’ve already posted about the rumor that the first tease of Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage will hit tomorrow, just before the new Star Wars trailer, and that means the full trailer will follow – and will also show with Mad Max: Fury Road. But in the meantime, there’s word that apparently Warner Bros is coordinating IMAX events to show footage from Batman v Superman in theaters on the big screen. It sounds like they might be pulling out all the stops, and showing fans some of the footage they’ve been waiting for – more than just the trailer. And now the details on theaters have surfaced. ›››

“Promise me something – that we’ll remain a secret, forever.” GKids has released a new trailer for Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There, the studio’s last feature film for the time being that opened in Japan last year. From Hiromasa Yonebayashi, director of Secret World of Arrietty, based on Joan G. Robinson’s children’s book, When Marnie Was There is a tender, beautiful ghost story of friendship and understanding. The English version of the film (which this is a trailer for) comes with voices from Hailee Steinfeld, Kiernan Shipka, John C. Reilly, Vanessa Williams, Geena Davis, Kathy Bates, Ellen Burstyn, Catherine O’Hara, Grey Griffin, Ava Acres and Raini Roodriguez. I still recommend the Japanese version, but both will be available. I recently saw this film and it’s quite charming, but not as fantastic as any of Ghibli’s past work. Take a look. ›››

Earlier this week, we learned that director Michelle MacLaren was parting ways with Warner Bros., and wouldn’t be directing the first big screen adaptation of the DC Comics superheroine Wonder Woman. But the studio seems to have recovered quickly as THR reports Patty Jenkins will sit in the director’s chair instead. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because she was previously slated to direct Thor: The Dark World for Marvel Studios, but they had a falling out, and “Game of Thrones” helmer Alan Taylor took the job instead. So this is an interesting little switcheroo between the rival comic book studios and female directors. ›››

There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding this summer’s sci-fi adventure Tomorrowland from director Brad Bird, but it’s a Disney film, and it has direct ties to the theme park attraction of the same name that has been around for decades since Walt Disney was still alive. Now two new featurettes dive into the fascination that Disney himself had with the innovations of the future, and the ideas he had in order to make civilization more efficient, not to mention the narrative in the film as well. And the footage also shows that there’s a lot of inspiration from the past with regards to what we’ll see on the big screen next month. ›››
