I was going to review Project CARS. Ten minutes into staring at the car setup screen, googling terms that I—even as a guy with a casual interest in cars—had never heard of, I thought maybe that wasn’t the best idea.

Released earlier this year, Pry is a look at the life of a soldier who is wrestling with demons. I’d go so far as to say that it’s the best look at PTSD in gaming, and one of the most fascinating games released in recent memory.

Malebolgia is best described as Dark Souls, except gorgeously cel-shaded and spooky as hell. I hope it’s as good as it looks. Watch me play it below.

You can do better than this, Marvel! The final official poster for Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man has debuted on Marvel.com today, timed perfectly the week after Avengers: Age of Ultron opened theaters. So now they’re continuing the Marvel hype train by reminding us that Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd & Michael Douglas is coming up later this summer. Unfortunately, it’s another very boring poster from Marvel that Photoshops a bunch of actors into a really bland design. And yet they were doing so good! The first teaser poster was great, and those tiny billboards are brilliant, but why revert to such boring work for the final pay off poster? ›››

Before he goes on to bring us the new Blade Runner movie, Quebecois director Denis Villeneuve will next premiere his new film Sicario at the Cannes Film Festival this month. The modern thriller revolves around a young FBI agent, played by Emily Blunt (thinking of Zero Dark Thirty already) who is recruited into a CIA operation to take down a Mexican drug cartel boss. Along the way she interacts with Alejandro, played by Benecio Del Toro, and Matt Graves, played by Josh Brolin, seen in the photos below. The director recently told The Guardian in a profile that it’s “a very dark film, a dark poem, quite violent.” We’ll have to wait for the trailer to get a glimpse of that violence – as these first look photos aren’t too crazy. Take a look. ›››

Nygaard is going geeky. It has been officially announced by Marvel Studios at Marvel.com that acclaimed actor Martin Freeman will be taking a role in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie, to be directed by brothers Anthony & Joe Russo. This is yet another sequel to Captain America following The Winter Soldier last year, but it also expands the universe by being the first segue into the “Civil War” era. No exact details are specified regarding the character he’ll be playing, so unfortunately anything else will have to remain a mystery for the time being. Aside from Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, the Civil War cast may also include Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo and Chadwick Boseman. So who is everyone? ›››

“If I ever write a story myself it will be to correct millions of misconceptions created by his imaginative license.” Roadside Attractions has unveiled the full-length US trailer for Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes at the end of his years. This is already one of my favorite films of the year and my stamp of approval on this one actually appears in the trailer – I’m quoted! It comes from my glowing review of the film from Berlinale, where I first saw this and loved it. McKellen is indeed magnificent in this story about memory loss and aging, featuring a stellar cast that includes the young Milo Parker, Laura Linney, Hattie Morahan, Hiroyuki Sanada and Frances de la Tour. Don’t miss this in the summer! ›››

The mess at Konami keeps getting messier , and weirder, with the discovery today that PT —a playable teaser for an upcoming Silent Hill game that has since been cancelled —has been completely removed from Sony’s PSN servers, even for people who had downloaded it while it was still available.

The creators of STARFIGHTER INC say their game is “a hardcore team-based PvP multiplayer space shooter in the vein of X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter”. And they should know.
