Earlier today, Jack ‘EternaLEnVy’ Mao published a nearly 7,500 word blog post accusing leadership within Team Secret of being, well, secretive about how it handled prize money, sponsorship deals, and a whole host of other financial matters. His remarks were archived here after the traffic they originally generated crashed his blog.

“I don’t know, I guess we’ve been drifting apart for a while… I’m more of a homebody, and my other half’s more outdoorsy…” Framestore Pictures has released an amusing short film called Otherhalf, from writer & director Ben West, who usually does commercials work for Framestore. Starring Eric Normington and Jayme Lynn Evans, the short is about a man who breaks up with the “other half” of his body, but through his experience finds out more about what makes him whole. Aside from being funny, this is actually kind of a charming short with an honest side. And it’s completely original – I’ve never seen anything like this. Enjoy. ›››

“You’re not going to be a musician, Bodi, you’re going to be a guard! Get used to it.” Lionsgate has released a trailer for an animated movie called Rock Dog, which seemingly came out of nowhere. Luke Wilson voices Bodi, a Tibetan Mastiff who discovers it’s his dream to become a musician when a radio falls out of the sky. The full voice cast includes Eddie Izzard, J.K. Simmons, Lewis Black, Kenan Thompson, Mae Whitman, Jorge Garcia, Matt Dillon and Sam Elliott as “Fleetwood Yak”. This looks like one of those companions-to-another-movie-this-year, the other being Sing, even though I’m wondering if this one might actually be the better movie. There’s some really weird things going on in this, but it looks enjoyable. ›››

“The Great Wall is the only barrier keeping the world safe…” Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have released a second trailer for Zhang Yimou’s new movie The Great Wall, a fantasy action epic about building the Great Wall of China. There’s all kinds of crazy stuff going on in this. Matt Damon stars in the cast as one of the few white dudes, with the rest of the cast including Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau, Tian Jing, Eddie Peng, Numan Acar, Han Lu, Kenny Lin and Zhang Hanyu. As weird as this looks, I’m planning to see it just for the visuals alone – Zhang Yimou always makes his films so mesmerizing to watch. The action in this looks totally massive, it might actually be thoroughly entertaining. Bombs away. ›››

“Mr. Wick! Do enjoy your party.” Hell yes!! Lionsgate has unveiled the first official trailer for John Wick: Chapter Two, the highly anticipated sequel to the action classic John Wick from 2014. Keanu Reeves returns as legendary unkillable assassin John Wick, who has to fight off countless more foes in Rome after taking out the Russian mobsters in the original. This also stars Ian McShane as Winston, along with Ruby Rose, Bridget Moynahan, Peter Stormare, John Leguizamo, Thomas Sadoski, David Patrick Kelly, Common, Lance Reddick back as Charon, and Laurence Fishburne as The Bowler King. This looks badass!! I’ve been waiting impatiently ever since it was announced, thankfully it’s out in a few months. ›››

“I knew you had potential!” Netflix has premiered the first trailer for a new series called Trollhunters, developed at DreamWorks Animaiton by horror/monster mastermind Guillermo del Toro. I’m breaking our rules to feature a trailer for a television series, which we never do, only because this was originally a movie. We posted a first look shot earlier in the year and it was being developed as a feature at the time (as far as we know). In the meantime, Netflix has picked it up and is turning it into an “original series” available streaming on December 23rd. Ron Perlman and Kelsey Grammer provide two of the voices, but the rest of the cast is unrevealed so far. This looks fun, but derivative, with a cheesy story and all the typical tropes. ›››

Marvel and Netflix are teaming up once again for another series featuring one of the comic publisher’s ground-level heroes: Iron Fist. During a panel at New York Comic-Con, Marvel revealed clips of the upcoming series, along with another teaser trailer, which was revealed to be hitting the streaming service in March. You can check out the teaser for yourself below.
Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) plays the titular character, also known as Danny Rand, who is a martial arts master with a few superhuman abilities. He channels mystical powers to make his strikes more powerful than any human is capable of. The series also features Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones) as Colleen Wing, who was a friend of Rand during his early days as Iron Fist, in the comics.
Back at San Diego Comic-Con, the first teaser was revealed, giving fans a bit of insight to the tone for the upcoming show. This second teaser doesn’t hold back any punches, pun intended.
Marvel’s Iron Fist will be coming to Netflix on March 17.

The first full trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2 was released today at New York Comic-Con. In it, we get a brief taste of a scene between Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne, bringing together two of the main characters from The Matrix trilogy.
As you’d expect from a John Wick trailer that lasts more than a few seconds, it features lots of people being shot by Wick, as well as a vow to kill everyone who gets in his way. Lance Reddick also proves himself to still be a very delightful concierge.
The trailer shows a lot of Common, who’s one of the major additions to the movie and one of the many people that Wick will shoot at. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we see Wick’s new dog who is, as suspected, incredibly adorable.
John Wick: Chapter 2 arrives in theaters on February 10, 2017.
