Working with the whole family.
Nintendo of America’s Samantha Robertson has left the Nintendo Treehouse after eight years. Robertson made the belated announcement herself over on her Twitter page.
There’s no need to be upset about her departure though, as she’s simply moved into a new role at the company. She’s now the Manager of Product Marketing for the Publisher and Developer Relations Department of Nintendo of America. Here’s what she had to say about it:

No word on a launch date.
During a panel at the 2019 Anime Expo, Level-5 announced Yo-Kai Watch 4 for Nintendo Switch would eventually be released in the west (thanks, HDKirin). Although this isn’t the most surprising news, it’s nice to know the Japanese developer and publisher hasn’t forgotten about the fanbase within this region. Unfortunately, there’s no word on when exactly the game will be localised.
At the same panel, a Japanese Yo-Kai Watch trailer featuring English subtitles was shown. Level-5 explained how the fourth mainline entry in the series would include content that requires players to have watched specific Yo-Kai Watch films to completely understand. The company hasn’t confirmed if these films will be localised yet.

“This was a very difficult decision”.
During a Nintendo Treehouse Live segment at this year’s E3, Game Freak producer Junichi Masuda shocked fans when he revealed Pokémon Sword and Shield would not include every pocket monster.
Before this, long-time players were expecting to be able to catch ’em and even transfer ’em all. In an interview with US Gamer, Masuda further explained how the decision to limit the Pokédex was because “the sheer number of Pokémon” had become an issue in itself. Despite this, the phrase ‘Bring Back National Dex’ began trending online.

Reports, rumours and speculation: it’s all here.
Nintendo is no stranger to updating and iterating its hardware. Ever since the days of the NES, the company has seen the value in refreshing its consoles to maintain consumer interest, introduce new features and bring down the cost of manufacture, and that approach hasn’t changed in over 30 years.
Therefore, reports that Nintendo is working on two new Switch models should come as absolutely no surprise, but given that the Kyoto veteran is yet to formally announce these systems, there’s obviously a lot of speculation and rumour floating around right now – and we plan to cover all of the solid leads here.

More than a pipe dream?
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer has become an instant success on the Switch eShop. It’s already dominating the download charts in multiple regions and has been well received by fans and critics alike. Being an indie-made title, it’s obviously got a lot of smaller-sized developers thinking about what they would potentially do with Nintendo’s IP if they were given the opportunity.
In an interview within the upcoming issue of Nintendo Force, Cuphead developer, Studio MDHR, revealed its own dreams to one day make a new Zelda game. Jared Moldenhauer – the brother and co-founder of the studio – was more than happy to go into detail about what the team had in mind:

Expect a “big year”.
In March, Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka confirmed the development of the next entry in the mainline Sonic the Hedgehog series was officially underway. Since then, there’s been no other information about this game.
When Iizuka caught up with Game Informer at E3 2019 last week, he was queried about the next major entry in the series. While he refused to reveal any details, he is believed to have perhaps teased when fans can expect this next outing.
