“She needed to be soulful, feisty and complicated.” Eon Productions has released a new featurette for Sam Mendes’ Spectre, due out in theaters in just a few more months. This one profiles the Bond Women of Spectre, specifically two of the women from this Bond movie – Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, and Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra. They left out Moneypenny! But that’s okay, she’s still awesome. In this featurette, Sam Mendes profiles both characters and discusses their casting. Monica Bellucci looks very mysterious, but Léa Seydoux looks badass as she’s apparently always on the run. Can’t wait. In theaters fall. ›››

“The kitchen is the only place I ever felt like I really belonged.” The Weinstein Company has debuted the first official trailer for Burnt, formerly known as Adam Jones, the “other” chef movie. Bradley Cooper stars as Chef Adam Jones, a once-famous chef who loses it all and must start from the bottom again. This trailer makes it seem like a very intense, very focused look at the ups and downs of the life of a famous chef. The impressive ensemble cast includes Alicia Vikander, Jamie Dornan, Lily James, Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman, Emma Thompson, Daniel Brühl and Omar Sy. I’m not sure if this is just a really good trailer mixing up lots of the footage or what, but I really want to see this. They got my attention. Enjoy! ›››

It may not be in English, but it still does look like a very compelling film. The first international trailer has debuted for Natalie Portman’s directorial debut A Tale of Love and Darkness, also starring Portman, written by Portman, and produced by Portman. The cast also features Makram Khoury as Halawani and Shira Haas. The film follows Natalie Portman as Fania Oz, a writer, journalist, and advocate of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This certainly looks like it’s full of beautiful imagery, telling a very emotional, powerful story. We’ll update when a version with English subtitles is available. Take a look. ›››

“We do what everyone says we can’t – we write!” Bleecker Street Films has debuted the first official trailer for Trumbo, directed by Jay Roach, starring Bryan Cranston as screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. We just teased the new poster for this film, which is about Trumbo who was blacklisted and sent to prison during the Red Scare when the House UnAmerican Activities Committee was questioning Hollywood talent about Communist ties. The big cast includes Elle Fanning, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Alan Tudyk, John Goodman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Louis C.K., Stephen Root and Michael Stuhlbarg. This looks damn good, it’s going to be so much fun to watch I think that’s why I’m intrigued. Cranston looks aces. ›››

Behold! More Star Wars! Hey, did you know there’s a new Star Wars movie coming out this year? Because if you didn’t, Entertainment Weekly is here to provide a fall preview looking at all the movies left to see the rest of this year. And the big one is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which gets the cover shot and an entire gallery of new photos inside the pages. We finally get a good look at Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux of The First Order, plus a better look at Captain Phasma, some more shots of J.J. Abrams on set, and some glimpses of John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Not that we haven’t already seen plenty of excellent photos from the new Star Wars, but as always the more we see, the better. “He’s unreliable, he’s evasive.” The first full trailer has arrived for Anton Corbijn’s new film Life, a drama starring Robert Pattinson as photographer Dennis Stock, and Dane DeHaan as his subject, soon-to-be-an-icon actor James Dean. The story follows Stock who strikes up an awkward friendship with Dean, and follows him all over the country as he meets young fans, and slowly learns what it’s like to be famous. Unfortunately, this film has no life to it at all. I saw it in Berlin when it premiered and despised it, writing a scathing review saying just as much and more. As much as this trailer might grab you, don’t be fooled by it. ›››

“Our inclination is to tell stories…” One of the many documentaries premiering at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival is the music documentary The Reflektor Tapes, following the Canadian band Arcade Fire as the tour with incredibly unique and innovative shows. The doc “charts the band’s creative journey as they lay foundations for the album in Jamaica, record in Montreal and play an impromptu gig at a Haitian hotel on the first night of Carnival, before bringing their breath-taking live show to packed arenas in Los Angeles and London.” This looks like a wild and vivid and entrancing doc that captures the members of Arcade Fire in an intimate way. Know your neighbors. The first official trailer has debuted for a documentary called Welcome to Leith, that played at many festivals after premiering at Sundance earlier this year. The doc profiles a small town in North Dakota called Leith, a tiny “ghost town” that gets taken over by a notorious white supremacist named Craig Cobb. There’s some very harrowing and remarkable footage in this, showing some very scary things, but I’m also intrigued to see what angle some of the video is taken from. This looks like a very fascinating and disturbing thriller that examines one extreme example of American white supremacy. Worth watching. ›››

He’s back for more! Chilean cult filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky has finally begun shooting his most recent feature film Endless Poetry (or Poesía Sin Fin), and even though they’re already in production after one round of crowdfunding, they still need more cash. The Indiegogo project intro states: “We are so proud of the magic the whole crew is making… but the money is running out fast and we need your help to make it to the finish line.” Some may recall earlier this year, Jodorwsky turned to Kickstarter to get funding for the film securing over $400,000 to successfully give Endless Poetry the greenlight. Meet John Ruth and Daisy Domergue. Over at Entertainment Weekly, they’re revealed the first character poster for Tarantino’s upcoming western The Hateful Eight. The poster features Kurt Russell as John “The Hangman” Ruth and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue. There’s also six more marks to denote the remaining six members of “The Hateful Eight”, so I imagine we’ll be seeing a set of posters like this for all of the characters – likely connected with the trailer debut. I much prefer the other teaser poster designed and debuted at Comic-Con, that one is hard to top, and this one doesn’t even come close. But I’m still crazy excited for this movie, especially after seeing some footage at Comic-Con. It’s going to be amazing. ›››
