A24 Schedules Jeremy Saulnier's 'Green Room' for Release April 2016

    Green Room

Briefly: A24 has scheduled a release date for one of this year’s indie breakouts – Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room, featuring Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots, as well as Patrick Stewart as a white supremacist. The film premiered at the Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and also played at the Toronto Film Festival and Fantastic Fest. Our writer Marco reviewed it at TIFF, and Jeremy reviewed the film out of Fantastic Fest, saying, “Stewart’s incredible performance could be viewed as the high mark for the film, but Green Room excels at so much it’s just one of an endless stream of positive notes.” It’s a very violent film but apparently one of the best genre flicks to debut this year. A24 will release Green Room limited starting April 1st, 2016, with a nationwide expansion arriving on April 15th, 2016. Stay tuned for the trailer next.

  • The Very Last Trailer for 'The Hunger Games' Series That We'll Ever See

The Very Last Trailer for 'The Hunger Games' Series That We'll Ever See

    The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

Nothing can prepare you for the end! It’s almost here. The very final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. It is, essentially, the very very very last trailer in The Hunger Games series that we’ll ever see. Then again, it’s likely Lionsgate will not be able to give up the money this franchise pulls in and will somehow figure out how to continue a story in Panem. But, for now, this is the very last trailer for Katniss’ adventure into Panem and her battle with President Snow. Jennifer Lawrence stars again, along with Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Josh Hutcherson, Natalie Dormer, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Gwendoline Christie, Jena Malone, and many others. Get ready for the final battle. ›››

  • New Trailer for Jay Roach's Excellent 'Trumbo' with Bryan Cranston

New Trailer for Jay Roach's Excellent 'Trumbo' with Bryan Cranston

    Trumbo Trailer

“Am I accused of a crime?” Entertainment One in the UK has debuted a brand new international trailer for Jay Roach’s Trumbo, the story of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, played by Bryan Cranston. In the 1940s, Trumbo and many of his friends are accused of being communists, and this film tells the story of how they defeated congress and the pure evil House UnAmerican Activities Committee. I recently had the chance to see Trumbo and it’s an excellent film, playing strong on comedy with outstanding performances. The cast includes Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, Alan Tudyk, John Goodman, Louis C.K., Elle Fanning and many others. This trailer is much more serious than expected, but I still highly recommend watching. Enjoy! ›››

Lex Luthor Gets a Feature Profile in 'Fortune' About His New Empire

    Lex Luthor

“I don’t know very many ‘war mongers’ who have a foosball table in the conference room.” Nice one, Lex. This is pretty dang cool, actually. Warner Bros has hidden a sneaky viral article in Fortune magazine, and it’s now available online to read in full. The article is about Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg in the movies, and his LexCorp company which became a Fortune 500 powerhouse soon after he took over. This is all a world-building promotion for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, getting in the DC characters again in big ways, but it’s cool to see them diving into the deep end and embracing DC’s universe. ›››

Watch: Second Full-Length Trailer for Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur'

    The Good Dinosaur Trailer

“That creature protected you – what is his name?!” Disney-Pixar have debuted the second full-length trailer for The Good Dinosaur, directed by Pete Sohn, about the adventures of Arlo, an Apatosaurus who gets lost and befriend a small human boy that he names Spot. Arlo is voiced by Raymond Ochoa, and the rest of the voice cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin and Sam Elliott. There’s plenty of new footage in this, showing Arlo interacting with different dinosaurs including the goofy triceratops named Forrest Woodbush. This looks like a truly wonderful movie, I really can’t wait to see it. ›››

Just in Time – Fun Trailers for 'Jaws 19' + Pepsi Perfect from 'BTTF II'

    Jaws 19 Trailer

This time, it’s really, really personal. In a few weeks it’ll be the actual date that Marty McFly reached when he traveled far into the future in Back to the Future II. This one is fact-checked (unlike the bogus social media meme) and the official date of arrival is October 21st, 2015. Everyone is scrambling to actual make the items featured in that future, including the hoverboard. Pepsi has just announced they’re making and actually selling “Pepsi Perfect“, which was seen in the movie. And to join in on the fun, Universal made a trailer for Max Spielberg’s Jaws 19, one of the many sequels playing in the future. Both companies made short joke trailers, with a bookend reminder of the new Blu-ray release also hitting on October 21st. Enjoy! ›››

  • Watch: First TV Spot for 'Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension'

Watch: First TV Spot for 'Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension'

    Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

Witness the power… of the activity! Paramount has debuted the first short TV spot for Gregory Plotkin’s Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, the latest sequel in the never-ending Paranormal Activity horror franchise. The hint is that this is supposed to be the end of it all, finale, and they’re going all out by making it in 3D. Oh boy. The cast includes Chris J. Murray, Brit Shaw, Ivy George, Dan Gill and Chloe Csengery. This looks like they’re really trying to go all out and scare the crap out of everyone with cheesy FX, and intense violence, but why not if it’s truly the last one. Hide under the covers and watch. ›››

  • Full Music Video for Sam Smith's 'Writing's On the Wall' from 'Spectre'

Full Music Video for Sam Smith's 'Writing's On the Wall' from 'Spectre'

Writing's On the Wall Music Video

“I’ve spent a lifetime running, And I always get away. But with you I’m feeling something, That makes me want to stay.” Eon Productions has debuted a music video for the new James Bond theme song Spectre, featuring musician/singer Sam Smith. Most of us have already heard the song, but this video adds in some new footage from Spectre as well as some shots of Sam Smith walking around mouthing the lyrics. Daniel Craig returns as Agent 007, and can be seen in the video along with Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux. Personally, I’m not really into this song, the singing seems a bit off. I like the orchestral background and I’m crazy excited for the movie itself, but I think we can forget about the song pretty quickly. Anyway – have fun! ›››

Watch: First Red Band Trailer for John Hillcoat's Crime Film 'Triple 9'

    Triple 9 Red Band Trailer

“Your job: out monster the monster, and get home at the end of the night.” Open Road Films has debuted a trailer for Triple 9, a crime action-thriller involving a highly coordinated heist that goes wrong. Not to be confused with Kathryn Bigelow’s Triple Frontier, this is the latest work from John Hillcoat who last brought us Lawless and he looks to be channeling his inner Michael Mann. The huge and impressive ensemble cast includes Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Gal Gadot, Teresa Palmer and Clifton Collins, Jr. This is quite a brutal, action-packed trailer, and I love the music choices, totally sold me on this film. Fire it up below and enjoy. ›››
