NeoGAF user Taker34 says they obtained the footage–see it here–from a “certain developer who is currently working on Andromeda.”
One of the more interesting elements of the footage is a jetpack ability, which lets players jump into the air for a short period of time. You can see this in the animated GIF below.
Gaming super sleuth shinobi602 adds that the footage is from 2014. “It doesn’t look like this now,” they said.
According to the leaked marketing survey, Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, with the series formula flipped on its head somewhat in terms of story.
“Players will lead the fight for a new home in history territory–where WE are the aliens–opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us,” reads a line from the reported description.
It goes on:
“Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play as the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customization systems. This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda galaxy.”
Each week we search and gather up the coolest comic book art you won’t see in actual comics. The reason you won’t is because professional artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists even arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out. This is a way to see the artists working on one book draw characters from other comics or publishers.
Andrew Robinson posted a few commissions on his Instagram this week.
Todd Nauck posted a bunch of commissions on his Tumblr.
That’s it for this week. Let us know which ones you really dug. We’ll have more awesome art next time. There may not be an installment next week because we’ll be at Emerald City Comicon. Hope to see you there.
When asked about a potential Xbox 1.5 update, Spencer answered, “I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers,” Spencer clarified that he doesn’t have any inside knowledge about PlayStation’s plans or the rumors currently circulating, but he added, “For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it’s reliable, the servers are doing well. If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people–an upgrade.”
Phil Spencer has commented on console hardware upgrades before, saying he isn’t planning to have people open up their Xbox One and upgrade individual pieces.
In related news, reports on the PlayStation 4.5 are true according to Digital Foundry. The hardware analysis publication says it has independently verified that the upgraded PS4 exists and that it will have an upgraded GPU.
[UPDATE] Oculus customers have reported that the shipping fee on their Rift order has been significantly reduced. We’ve contacted Oculus for further comment and will report back when we hear more.
The original story follows:
The Oculus Rift released this week, but it seems that many people who preordered the virtual reality headset have no idea when theirs will ship. Customers have been asking Oculus founder Palmer Luckey to let them know what’s happening, and now he’s addressed their pleas after one user suggested that he wasn’t allowed to comment on the supposed issues because of higher-ups.
“Don’t shunt blame to other people, this is my call,” he said in a comment on Reddit. “I am not going to wax poetic about this, since I have done so in the past, but bottom-line: I won’t give in-depth updates on any situation without knowing it is solid, true, and finalized. Until I can do so, the best I can do is remind people that I will get them information as quickly as I can.”
“On the rare occasions when things still change, even when they change for reasons out of my control, I get crucified anyway,” Luckey continued. “Sometimes that means updates have to wait until things get locked down, and sometimes that means waiting a little longer to give everyone good info.”
When criticized for the lack of a “concise and quick” response, Luckey said “the two are completely opposed” and that “concise and accurate information is rarely the fastest or first, especially when talking about a situation with so many constantly changing variable.”
The Oculus subreddit’s overall tone seems to be an angry one, and when someone asked people to imagine how the subreddit would look if thousands of people had Rifts “instead of the handful now,” Luckey responded with the following:
“Not very different, apparently, because there are already many thousands of Rifts out there even at this early point, with more arriving as we speak. Remember that this sub is a tiny minority of the overall VR market–70k [subscribers] is not even an accurate measure, considering how many subs are from old accounts or lurkers with no headset. The vast majority of people don’t care about posting pictures or reviews of their new toy to an internet enthusiast group.”
Another user accused Luckey of writing the Oculus community off, which he replied to by saying his “involvement [in the subreddit] should make [it] obvious” that he’s not doing that.
“I don’t think you are interpreting my comment fairly–I never said that everyone who matters is fine, I just pointed out that thousands of units in the wild don’t translate into a significant difference in the direction of this subreddit, and that his perception of only a handful of Rifts being out there (which he apprently got from this sub) is inaccurate,” Luckey added.
No official comment has been given on the state of Oculus Rift shipments at this time. We’ve contacted Oculus PR and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
The Ace Attorney series’ anime adaptation kicks off this weekend. Anime streaming service Crunchyroll gets the first episode of Phoenix Wright’s anime on Saturday after it airs in Japan. New episodes will follow every Saturday following April 2.
Crunchyroll announced the news on its forums. The episode will arrive at 4 AM PT on April 2 and is available to all Crunchyroll members outside of Asia.
Capcom Unity provided more details in a blog post, saying the episodes will be in Japanese with English subtitles. The story will feature the early beginnings of characters like Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth, Maya Fey, and more.
Crunchyroll’s description of the anime is as follows:
“Adapted from the popular video game franchise, Ace Attorney follows rookie lawyer Naruhodo Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright) and his assistant Mayoi (Maya) as he defends his clients in a court of law. With limited evidence and logic as his only weapon, can Naruhodo turn the case around when all the odds are stacked against him?”
Since the anime won’t be in English, it will use the characters’ Japanese names. Capcom Unity put together a list of all the names, and you can check out who’s who below:

We’re proud to unveil the next epic title from Blizzard Entertainment.
This newly announced and totally bogus controller has a “compliment button” so you can feel good about yourself all the time, as well as a “toxicity filter” to block any nasty chatter. A “win button” automatically rage-quits for you. “Why waste your life practicing to get better someday when you could feel better today?” Nyko said in a news release.
Ridiculous World of Warcraft Patch Notes
The alpha test for upcoming expansion Legion is (not seriously) getting an interesting-sounding patch, which will make elements of the world smaller, let you know when teammates are being controller through Twitch Plays streams, and other inane things. Oh, and they’re finally adding characters from Hearthstone to celebrate the Hearthstone MMO announced above. You can read more here and check out the full, fake patch notes here.

100,000 Dragon Balloons
How do you throw a first birthday party for mobile game War Dragons? By releasing 100,000 dragon balloons over the San Francisco bay, of course. He’s an image of a seal taking in the sights.
“One out of every 100 balloons will also contain special dragon treasures, including everything from dimes and hard candy to miniature bottles of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey,” the developer said. “The balloons are crafted from durable clown-grade latex, making them highly resistant to popping and decomposition. Even after they’ve run out of air, they’re expected to become fun floating fixtures around the SF bay, on par with the Bay Lights or Coit Tower. They will add colorful, dragony delight to the area for years to come.”

Flyt:
World of Warcraft’s version of Uber/Lyft…
“As times change and more travel options become available to the heroes of Azeroth, these stalwart Flightmasters are beginning to feel the pinch,” Blizzard said on its website.
“Enter the service known simply as ‘Flyt,’ which allows customers to simply whisper their destination to a central operator. Flyt then automatically connects travelers with a nearby ‘transporters’ who will shuttle the customer via passenger mounts or portals to their destination—often for just a fraction of the cost of a Flightmaster, and in many cases much faster.”

Every Wednesday is new comic book day and hundreds of comic books hit local comic shops and the digital market. While many readers pick books based on the creative teams involved or the stories and characters contained within, each comic is trying its best to grasp the consumer’s attention with its cover.
Each week, we will be highlighting some of the best comic book cover art from the past week’s releases and discussing the artists involved. Here’s what caught our eye this week.
First up, this week, is THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1.2 by Simone Bianchi. There’s some great work here with the colors and shading, as Spider-Man gets dragged into the ground. Bianchi has a great style that invokes an element of fear and terror in this cover.
The next cover to make the list this week is VISION #3 by Mike Del Mundo. While the current VISION series reads more like horror than a superhero story, this cover does a fine job at delivering the story for the past couple of issues. Vivian, Vision’s wife, killed the Grim Reaper and hid his body. Del Mundo always creates some eye-catching covers.
Here’s DARTH VADER #15 by Francesco Francavilla. He has a style unlike anyone else in comics that has a classic, pulp feel to it, which is especially noticeable with his color palette. Here, C-3PO and R2D2 stand next to Darth Vader in this beautifully drawn variant cover.
Next up is X-O MANOWAR #43, by Mike Choi. This 1:20 retailer incentive variant cover evokes an emotional response from the reader. The colorwork is very soft and the background makes X-O really pop off the page while staying interesting with the work Choi put into it.
Here’s DETECTIVE COMICS #48 by Andrew Robinson. Everything about this cover makes it a real stand-out, from the raindrops in the foreground to the way Robinson framed Batman (Jim Gordon) on the cover. The minimal use of color really makes the Batman logo pop too.
Finally, closing out the list is ARCHIE #5 by Thomas Pitilli. This is one of the three covers ARCHIE had this month and this was the standout. The perspective here is really cool, coming in from above, looking down on the characters, sitting against the lockers. Overall, it’s very aesthetically pleasing.
That’s it for this week. If there’s a cover you loved that you think we missed, let us know.
If you’re a huge Star Wars fan, or have a lot of extra money you don’t know what to do with, then a very expensive Boba Fett toy might be of interest to you. An ultra-rare Boba Fett prototype has hit Ebay and is currently at auction for $150,000.
The Ebay seller, who goes by the username RareStarWarsToys, claims that the Boba Fett prototype is the “rarest, greatest Star Wars action figure in the world.” The seller also says that it’s “one of a kind,” as it’s the original prototype that was on display at the 1979 Toy Fair (via Game Informer).
According to the seller, this is the same Boba Fett figure that appeared on Pawn Stars on its January 6 episode, The Pawn Awakens.
The nominations for the 2016 BAFTA awards have been announced. Last summer’s spectacular action sequel Mad Max: Fury Road has received a total of seven nominations in the technical categories, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which picked up four.
The drama Carol and Steven Spielberg’s thriller Bridge of Spies collected the highest number of nominations overall, both securing nine nods. Other films that figure heavily include The Revenant, Ex Machina, and The Martian.
The leading British movie award ceremony will take place on February 14, and together with the Golden Globes, it is seen as an indicator as to what films will be favoured at the Oscars, which takes place two weeks later.
Bridge Of Spies, Carol, and The Revenant all received nominations for Best Film, together with the dramas The Big Short and Spotlight. In the acting categories, Eddie Redmayne, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Michael Fassbender are favorites amongst for Leading Actor, while Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, and Brie Larson were all nominated for Leading Actress. Unusually, Alicia Vikander has been nominated for both Leading Actress and Best Supporting Actress, for The Danish Girl and Ex Machina respectively.

Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai line of figures is expanding this year with new ones based on the main characters from Halo 5: Guardians. First revealed in prototype form at San Diego Comic-Con last summer, images of the final versions have now been published and posted on toy site ToyArk.com (via Game Informer).
The figures go on sale in April, priced at ¥14,800 each (about $125 USD).
Other than the weapons seen in these images, there’s no information available yet about what other items might be included with the sets. It’s a safe assumption that you won’t be able to take Chief’s helmet off, though.
To get a closer look, you can click through the images in the gallery below or head to ToyArk.com.
For a look at the finalized version of some other Play Arts Kai figures, check out the stories below.
