  • Spider-Man's Second DLC, City That Never Sleeps – Turf Wars, Release Date Announced

Spider-Man's Second DLC, City That Never Sleeps – Turf Wars, Release Date Announced

Those who have finished the first chapter of Spider-Man‘s The City That Never Sleeps story, called The Heist, know it ended with a cliffhanger. Sony and Insomniac have now teased the second part of that continuing story with Turf Wars, coming on November 20. It packs the next chapter of the story and three more DLC Spidey suits.

After being spoken about in hushed tones in The Heist, the mob boss Hammerhead takes center stage in Turf Wars. Here he’s continuing his war on the other crime families, and he’s brought some heavy-duty equipment left by Sable’s mercenaries after her appearance in the main campaign. Turf Wars will include new story missions, bases to complete, crimes, challenges and trophies.

The DLC will also introduce another set of Spidey suits. This time they include the Spider-Armor MK-I suit, the Marvel Mangaverse Spider-Clan suit, and the comic version of the Iron Spider Armor. The comics Iron Spider looks a bit different than the one presented in Avengers: Infinity War, which already appeared in the game.

    No Caption Provided

Turf Wars is available for $10 individually, or as part of the season pass for $25. That will get you access to all three packs–The Heist, Turf Wars, and Silver Lining, which is due in December.

  • Ebay's “Better Than Black Friday” Beats Best Xbox One Controller Sale

Ebay has announced another sales promotion revolving around Black Friday, but this one boasts that it’s better than Black Friday. The promotion centers on a full week of beating competitor prices for the retail holiday across several items. The promotion runs November 12-18, and the prices go into effect at 5 AM PT each day. [Update: It’s now Tuesday, meaning another of the new deals from Ebay is now live, including the Xbox One controller deal that beats what we’ve seen during Black Friday.]

The deal for today, Monday, for example is a Samsung 32″ Smart LED HD TV for $175, beating the advertised Target deal of $179. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 13, it’s offering an Xbox One wireless controller for $35, undercutting Walmart’s price of $39. The deals will also include NBA 2K19 for $27 (vs $30 at Target) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for $44 (vs $45 at Target). Apple AirPods are going for $149.

Naturally, these game and tech deals come alongside several other discounts on other items, from coffee makers to boots to watches. Ebay is also offering free shipping on these deals, and a “Best Price Guarantee” that will give 110% the price difference on competitors. You can check out the full line-up at the Ebay deal site.

Black Friday is traditionally the Friday immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday, but as retailers compete for customers the discounts have begun expanding to the weeks before and after as well. It’s a good time to grab cheap games and hardware, so check out our Black Friday deals roundups for all the best prices.

  • Crackdown 3's New Wrecking Zone Multiplayer Mode Debuts At X018

Alongside a release date for Crackdown 3, Microsoft took time at its X018 stage presentation to show off the first look at its open world game’s new multiplayer mode. The Wrecking Zone mode takes place inside a custom, destructible arena and has you wreak havoc.

Presented as a training exercise for Agents, Wrecking Zone pits two teams of five against each other. An extended gameplay demonstration showed the teams smashing their ways through walls and crumbling the floor beneath them. The brief show detailed two maps, called Blackout Zone and Nova Station, along with two modes, Territories and Agent Station. It was co-developed by Sumo Digital, Elbow Rocket, and Certain Affinity.

Crackdown 3 is now slated for a February 15, 2019 release, after multiple delays. As a first-party game it will be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on the day of release. Plus it’s a Play Anywhere game, so you can purchase it on Xbox One and play on PC, or vice-versa.

As part of the promotion now that a release date has been announced, Microsoft is giving away the original 2007 Crackdown as a free backwards compatible download through November 30.

  • Red Dead 2 Fence Guide: Where To Sell All Your Stolen Items In The Old West

Fences–merchants, not boundary markers–in Red Dead Redemption 2 are the only businesses that will buy goods you’ve found while looting strangers and rifling through private property, and by gum, they sure are hard to find. Considering the size of RDR2’s map, and that there are only four fences in all the land, odds are you may be wondering where they’re hiding. We’ve got a handy reference guide to help locate the black-market traders that peddle in illicit goods.

Fair warning: you have to first complete Chapter 2’s ‘The Spines of America’ mission before you can use any fence, and you won’t be able to access either of the specialized fences–for horses or wagons–until you reach certain progress milestones in the game’s main story.

Let’s start off with the first location you’re likely to find: Emerald Ranch

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

Fence #1: Emerald Ranch (Unlocks after Chapter 2, Pouring Fourth Oil)

The first fence location you might stumble across during the natural trajectory of the story’s early mission is located on the south-west edge of Emerald Ranch, on the backside of a massive barn. In additional to its usual services, this is also the only fence that will pay you for turning in stolen stagecoaches and carriages.

The same time that you unlock the standard fence at Emerald Ranch, you will also unlock the ability to trade in stolen carriages; simply ride them up to the barn doors to engage the wagon fence.

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

Fence #2: Van Horn Trading Post

On the far-east edge of New Hanover (practically due east of Emerald Ranch) lies Van Horn Trading Post. The fence at this location is tucked away within the rear of building along the docks.

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

    Fence #3: Rhodes
Due south of Emerald Ranch lies Rhodes, a small town with a small trailer park to the north. There you will find a bright red trailer, and on the backside you’ll find a counter and a window where the local fence awaits your business.

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

    Fence #4: Saint Denis
The far-off bustling streets of Saint Denis are where you’ll find the most well-hidden fence of them all. Tucked under the busy market square, it’s easy to spot if you keep an eye out for the brick archways, or the green building with bright green shudders. This is also the only fence that will purchase gold bars, valued at a whopping $500 a piece.

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

Horse Fence, North Of Rhodes (Unlocks after Chapter 3, Horse Flesh For Dinner)

After completing the gruesomely titled mission mentioned above, you can speak to a pair of strangers northwest of Rhodes, along the waterside, to turn in stolen horses.

  • Another Of Red Dead 2's Hugest Mysteries Has Been Solved

It’s shocking the amount of stuff you can find in Red Dead Redemption 2. Heck, the Stranger missions, Legendary animals, and camp side-activities were already enough as it is. But it seems another major discovery has been made, and it’s not what you’d expect. UFOs were one thing, but this is another entirely.

To keep you from getting spoiled, we’re going to be vague with the details of this discovery. It’s really worth seeing it through the end so you can experience it yourself. The objective of this mission is quite simple: find five mysterious writings scattered across Saint Denis. Once you’ve found all those, you’ll get a map that points you to an alleyway near the church in town. However, in order to trigger the event properly, you need to visit at night. If you really want to know what it is, hover your mouse over the text below:

You find five mysterious writings that inevitably lead you to finding an actual vampire. Seriously. A vampire!

Below we detail the locations of all five mysterious writings, as well as provide directions on how to get to the alleyway by the Saint Denis church. You can find the writings in any order, but for the sake of clarity, we’ve numbered them to make it easier to follow. Massive props to Luke Lawrie of Stevivor, who deserves all the credit for being able to discern these clues and find them all across town. With bizarre stuff like this, it seems there’s no shortage of secrets tucked away in Red Dead Redemption 2, so if you’ve discovered something crazy, be sure to let us know about it in the comments below.

    Clue 1

“I drink from the maiden and I live again in the dead. The heart of the king of blood.”

The first clue is located on the building just above the second “N” in “Saint Denis” on the map. You’ll see it written on the wall of a red building with white doors.

    Clue 2

“I feed again. The blood of life. The circle has begun.”

The second clue is near the Saint Denis market place where the local Fence and Trapper are. It’s tucked away in an alleyway behind a gate where there are some neatly stacked barrels.

    Clue 3

“Five bones under the perfect star. Nosferatu with Dominica will become mortal again.”

The third clue is located by the Butcher and General Store on the southwestern side of town. It’s on the other side of the shops, tucked away under an overhang.

    Clue 4

Oh sweetest of napes, may your blood remain forever on my lips. Six there will be before the lust is sated.”

The fourth clue is found directly north of the post office, tucked away in a corridor. Look to the shot above to chart a path to its locations.

    Clue 5

With one long kiss, I draw the life from her and await the outpost of advancing day.”

The final clue is found on another wall of the building the previous clue was written on. Simply head up north to get to it, but you’ll likely have to run around the building to reach it. This building complex is a bit of a labyrinth but stick with it and you’ll find it eventually.

    The Big Reveal

As stated above, you’ll get a map once you’ve gathered all the clues. It’s a tad vague in the direction it’s trying to point you, but it’s ultimately trying to get you to go to a secluded alleyway to the west of the General Store and Butcher. However, the special event won’t trigger until nighttime, so be sure to advance time at the local saloon. Once it’s night, head to the alleyway and prepare yourself for a bizarre event that defies expectations.

  • Red Dead 2 Perks Guide: Talismans, Trinkets, And Every Crafting Component You Need

Red Dead 2 Perks Guide: Talismans, Trinkets, And Every Crafting Component You Need

Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t make a lot of its mechanics known to the player. There are systems buried deep within that you’d be hard-pressed to come in contact with if you’re mainlining the game’s major story and side missions. Among these mechanics are special Perks that offer improvements to Arthur’s overall abilities.

We know what you’re thinking, though: “Perks? You mean like Perks you unlock from an RPG-like progression tree?” Yes, and no. Red Dead Redemption 2 does in fact offer these sorts of Perks, but they’re unlocked by obtaining special items known as Talismans and Trinkets, and not from any special in-game progression screen.

Talismans and Trinkets are primarily crafted at Fences–special black market shops that sell all manner of useful items you can’t get at any ol’ General Shop. You’ll need parts from Legendary Animals to craft them. Others are rewarded to you by completing specific missions under special conditions. While Talismans and Trinkets are technically items, know that you don’t need to equip them in order for them to be active. Once you acquire one, it’ll affect Arthur’s abilities permanently, and they can even be equipped as a cosmetic item.

Below we run down all of the Talismans we’ve found so far, what they do, and what you need to unlock them. Any Talismans or Trinkets that have crafting components marked with a “*” are special items that require you to complete specific missions or challenges; a table can be found further below that details their locations.

If you’re looking for more guides, you’d be remiss not to check out our feature highlighting all the tips you should know before playing. Though, we also have guides on more specific subjects, like cheat codes, gun customization and money making. Be sure to read our Red Dead 2 review if you haven’t already.

  • Red Dead 2 Challenge Guide: Every Challenge And How To Trigger Them

As you play Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll start to see notifications informing you that you’ve completed a challenge. Now this all sounds fine and dandy, but you’re likely asking yourself: “What does completing challenges do? Heck, why should I even bother completing them?” That’s a fair question, and we’re here to answer it.

Challenges are gameplay feats you complete to earn XP and unlock upgraded equipment for purchase at your local trapper, such as new Gun Belts, Bandoliers, Holsters, and Off-Hand Holsters. Each piece posses its own perks that increase either ammo capacity or decrease weapon degradation rate. Equipping them even improves your general statistics, but more on that in a second.

There are nine challenge categories in total, each with ten feats to complete. As you’d expect, the feats vary per category. For example, the Bandit challenges has you working to hold up townsfolk, steal wagons, and amass a sizable bounty, while the Explorer challenges focus on you finding treasure. It’s important to note that you must complete challenges in sequential order, so you can’t just prioritize completing the seventh challenge over the first few only because it’s easier.

Completing challenges is a worthwhile endeavor, as the equipment you unlock offer bonus bars around your Health, Stamina, and Dead Eye Cores when you complete the set. You are rewarded an extra bar when you complete one of the three sets associated with that statistic. And you unlock an additional bar to that statistic once you’ve acquired all three sets associated with it. The table below contains details on which equipment set is associated with which attribute.

    Attribute Equipment Set
    Health
    • Horseman
    • Sharpshooter
    • Weapons Expert
    Stamina
    • Bandit
    • Gambler
    • Master Hunter
    Dead Eye
    • Explorer
    • Herbalist
    • Survivalist

There’s even an extra bonus in store for you upon completing all 90 challenges. You unlock a special outfit called “Legend of the East,” which provides hefty bonuses to Arthur’s statistics. If that’s something you’re aspiring towards, you’re in luck as we’ve compiled every single challenge in the game for your reference, so get crackin’!

  • GTA 5 Black Friday Ad Deals For PS4 And Xbox One

Rockstar’s open-world epic, Grand Theft Auto V, may be over five years old at this point, but the game is still consistently one of the best-selling titles on PS4 and Xbox One every month. It’s also one of the most commercially successful video games of all time, shipping more than 100 million units worldwide. If you’re one of the seemingly few remaining people who have yet to pick the title up (or plan on giving it to someone this holiday season), you’ll be able to find some good deals on it this Black Friday.

Many retailers have already begun sharing their Black Friday ads ahead of the big shopping day, giving you the opportunity to scope out all of the sales before embarking on your retail expedition. While there don’t seem to be too many deals on GTA V as of yet, the best one at the moment can be found at Best Buy. The electronics giant is selling GTA V: Premium Online Edition for $20. This edition comes with the base game as well as some freebies for GTA Online, including the Criminal Enterprise starter pack, a handful of vehicles, weapons, and more.

Walmart will also have a discount on the Premium Online Edition of GTA V this year. Starting at 6 PM local time on Thanksgiving, you can pick up the open-world game for $25. You’ll be able to snag it before then if you’re planning on doing your shopping online; Walmart’s Black Friday deals kick off on Walmart.com on Wednesday, November 21 at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET, while Best Buy will offer its deals even sooner in some cases.

GTA V first launched to critical acclaim back in 2013. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10 in our GTA V review, calling it “the bar by which all other open-world games, or indeed any game that aims for a cinematic feel, should be judged.” Despite its age, Rockstar continues to roll out new content for its GTA Online mode, such as the recent After Hours nightclub update.

You can see all of the GTA V deals so far below. We’ll continue to update this list as more deals are announced, so be sure to check back often for the best savings you can find on GTA V. This year, Black Friday falls on November 23; you can find even more discounts on other games, TVs, and more in our Black Friday roundup.

  • Microsoft Store's Black Friday 2018 Ad Released Early

Joining retailers like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy, Microsoft has pulled the trigger early and announced many of the deals that will be available through the Microsoft Store on Black Friday 2018. While the official date for the shopping holiday is November 23, Black Friday prices begin online at 12 AM ET November 22 / 9 PM PT November 21.

What kind of deals will we see? For starters, you’ll be able to save money on Xbox One consoles. The Xbox One S Minecraft Creators Bundle will be $100 off, bringing it down to $200. If you have a 4K TV or plan to get one soon, you might be better off picking up an Xbox One X for $400 (also $100 off). Xbox One X and S bundles will be $70 off; these include pack-in games like Battlefield V, Fallout 76, NBA 2K19, and more.

If you’re in the market for services and you’re not already a member, you can get a one-month membership to Xbox Game Pass for $1; that deal is actually live now and will continue through Black Friday. Xbox Game Pass lets you download and play a selection of over 100 games, including all games recently published by Microsoft, like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4. Starting November 15, new members can get a month’s worth of Xbox Live Gold for $1 as well.

Starting on November 22, you can save $10 off Xbox Design Lab wireless controllers, whose color combinations you can design yourself. If you’re fine with the pre-made Xbox One controller designs, you’ll be able to pick those up for $20 off (including Elite Xbox One controllers).

No individual game discounts have been announced yet, but we’ve been assured we’ll see price drops on at least a few games on Black Friday. You can see more items in Microsoft’s Black Friday sneak peek, or check out all of the Black Friday deals announced so far.
