  • Respawn Boss Vice Zampella to Take Control of DICE LA

    Developer will be rebranded.

DICE LA, the studio formerly known as Danger Close Games, has a new leader in the form of Respawn boss and former Infinity Ward chief Vince Zampella. The executive – who will continue to “head coach” the Titanfall developer simultaneously – will rebrand his new team, as an attempt to shun the “support” moniker that’s been attributed to it. Recently, the Los Angeles-based subsidiary has been tasked with aiding its Stockholm counterpart on titles like Battlefield V.

“We want to give it a new image,” he told the LA Times. “We want people to say, ‘This is a destination you can go and make new content.’ I think they’ve kind of gotten the branding that they are the support studio for DICE. I think rebranding is important for showing people, ‘Hey! Come work here. We’re going to do some amazing things.’”

  • Infiltrate and Eliminate in Silent Assassin, Now Available on Roblox for Xbox One

    Summary

    • Silent Assassin blends fast-paced, cat-and-mouse style combat with the unpredictable antics of a frenetic multiplayer shooter.
    • Players can use the coins they receive at the end of each round to obtain more weapons, perks, and gear.
    • Silent Assassin was created by community developer TypicalType, who learned how to code from building his own games on Roblox.

Silent Assassin, the hit stealth action game on Roblox, has been unleashed on Xbox One! Blending fast-paced, cat-and-mouse style combat with the unpredictable antics of a frenetic multiplayer shooter, this is one unique thriller nobody should miss out on.

    Roblox

In Silent Assassin, players are randomly assigned one of three roles
at the start of each round. There’s the titular assassin, whose quick feet and
cloaking ability allows them to outmaneuver any foe. They have two objectives:
stab the target, then escape from the scene of the crime. The target,
meanwhile, must avoid the assassin and survive at all costs—which, admittedly,
is easier said than done. They’re not entirely defenseless, though. Everyone
else is a guard who comes fully equipped with an arsenal of firearms to help
them protect the target and eliminate the assassin. But watch your back—if the
assassin gets to you first, you’re knocked out of the round!

    Roblox

    Define Your Gameplay Style

    The more you play, the
better the rewards. Players can use the coins they receive at the end of each
round to obtain more weapons, perks, and gear, opening new and exciting
opportunities for different gameplay tactics. Assassins, for example, can
unlock smoke grenades and flashbangs, while guards can earn defensive gadgets
like tripwires and teleport pads. Devise your own strategies and become a
master assassin or the ultimate mercenary.

    Roblox

    Three Unique PvP Game Modes

    • Standard: This
is the default game mode in Silent
      Assassin
      .
    • Free-for-All: It’s
every player for themselves! Eliminate as many opponents as you can.
    • Infection:
Players are split up into two different teams: the survivors and the infected.
Group up and outlast the zombie horde or infect as many players as you can.

Silent Assassin was created by community developer
TypicalType, who learned how to code from building his own games on Roblox. He designed Silent Assassin with controllers in mind, making small adjustments
to refine the experience on Xbox One. With brisk three-minute rounds and
easy-to-learn controls, it’s the perfect pick-up-and-play game for just about
anybody. Fans worldwide can play Silent
    Assassin
    on Roblox in English,
Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese,
    Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.

    Roblox

    Whether you’re stalking
your prey through the dark, claustrophobic streets of Florence or keeping a
watchful eye amidst the starry backdrop of Orbital Station, Silent Assassin has a ton of fun, varied
maps to keep you and your friends engaged. Sharpen your blade and get ready to
pounce into a nefarious world where your next target could just be your last.

Jump into Roblox on Xbox One and play Silent Assassin for free now!

  • PlayStation Gear Website Once Again Shuts Down Across EU Territories

    Offline merch.

We’re not entirely sure what the deal is with Sony’s PlayStation Gear online merchandise store. For the past two and a half years, passionate fans have been able to purchase officially licensed clothing, statues, and artwork from the hardware manufacturer across EU territories. However, much like when it returned to the internet in May 2017, the store has now shut up shop once again.

The official website now sports a message reading: “Thanks for visiting PlayStation Gear. We’re sorry to say that the site (playstation-gear.com) in Europe has now closed.” Those who recently placed an order on the site can still receive customer support, but anyone looking to grab a deal in any sort of January sale is out of luck. The US version of the PlayStation outlet is still in operation at the time of writing, although it does not offer worldwide shipping to European countries. In other words, if you noticed a lovely figurine on the site recently at an enticing price, you’re unfortunately out of luck.

  • Game of the Year: #1 – Resident Evil 2

    Remaking mastery.

Capcom has been on an absolute tear this generation. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Monster Hunter: World and Devil May Cry 5 filled the PlayStation 4’s library with hit after hit over the past three years, but the Japanese publisher’s crowning achievement is a step above the rest in more ways than one. Resident Evil 2 magnificently recreates the PSone survival horror classic for a modern audience with a shift in perspective and a visual overhaul that breathes new life into the undead tenants of the Raccoon Police Department. Nail-bitingly intense and supremely terrifying, what was considered to be one of the greatest games on Sony’s first foray into the console market is just as good 21 years later. Capcom set itself an almighty task when it promised to bring back the title most fans hold dearest, but it delivered with the very best game of 2019.

Resident Evil 2 is a remake which still allows the original encounter with Raccoon City to shine — fleshing out its storyline, characters, and haunting environments. Much of what you remember remains intact, save for some minor enemies, and so it’s how the game subverts preconceived expectations to create moments of tension and surprise for even the most veteran of Resident Evil players that thrills. Zombies are most certainly back and more frightening than ever with a single stumbling figure enough to cause alarm. When it comes to an entire group of them, however, the best tactic is to simply run in the opposite direction. Combined with limited ammo and healing options, Capcom managed to turn the members of the undead into ruthlessly foreboding terrors all over again.

  • Talking Point: What Free January 2020 PS Plus Games Do You Really Want?

When will January 2020’s PS Plus lineup be announced?

What’s the January 2020 PlayStation Plus lineup? And when will the January 2020 PS Plus games be announced? It’s going to be a big year for Sony’s subscription service, as the PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch at some point within the next 12 months. Not only that, but the Japanese giant is seeing increased competition from rivals, like Microsoft’s excellent Xbox Game Pass. In this article, we’re going to recap all of the latest rumours and speculation regarding January 2020’s PS+ lineup.

When Will January 2020’s Free PS Plus Games Be Announced?

It’s almost certain that the festive period will upset Sony’s usual announcement schedule, as the latest PlayStation Plus games are typically revealed on the last Wednesday in the month. That just so happens to be 25th December this time. As such, it’s now certain we’ll learn about the PS+ titles as late as 1st January — technically already in the New Year.

  • Game of the Year: #2 – Death Stranding

    Boundary breaking.

Death Stranding is not quite as divisive as some would lead you to believe. Released to widespread critical praise, it is the only video game this year to receive a rare 10/10 rating from Push Square thanks to an experience that could only come from the mind of Hideo Kojima. The creator’s first title since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and his subsequent split from publisher Konami remained a mystery for four years, but when it was time to put up or shut up, he delivered on all fronts. Death Stranding is the most unique AAA title of the generation, and it’s all the better for it.

As complex as it may seem, the heart of what makes Kojima Productions’ latest title tick is the simple task of getting from A to B. Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, must reconnect the United Cities of America in an attempt to rebuild society and make the country whole once more, done by delivering packages to various Porters in order to earn their respect. Bringing them back onto the Chiral Network is the aim, but of course, it’s setup which only just scratches the surface of what’s to come.
