The competition in the fitness tracker world is ever-growing, which is actually good news for lower Fitbit prices as the brand has to push hard to remain competitive. And with each fresh iteration of its fitness trackers or smartwatches we see further improvements, showing that corners aren’t being cut to keep prices down either. New versions usually mean cheaper Fitbit prices on older models too, so there’s always a bargain to be had somewhere.

If you’re not quite sure which Fitbit is right for you. We’ve gone into detail about each one and you can also find a handy breakdown of the specs for a quick look at the vitals of each one as you scroll down throughout our guide. We’re sure you’ll be able to find one you like.

The Fitbit Inspire looks set to eventually replace the Fitbit Alta as a fantastic entry-level fitness tracker that’s not too light on features (yes, we’re talking about you, Fitbit Flex 2). The new Inspire is priced similarly to the Alta yet has a bigger screen. It’s a proper touchscreen too, instead of the less user-friendly tapscreen on the Alta. There’s a new button on the side to act as a ‘Back’ button in the menus, so navigation of the tracker’s features are much easier to cycle through.

The Fitbit Inspire is better in the wet and can actually be worn while swimming too rather than just being splash and rain-resistant. The casing around the face is now plastic, rather than aluminum, but this makes for a more comfortable wear on the wrist and it’s a touch lighter. All in all, while we’re seeing the Inspire priced at a similar level to the older Alta, the Inspire is the clear winner.

Like the Fitbit Inspire mentioned earlier, the Fitbit Inspire HR looks set to replace our previous budget-friendly option in the Alta HR. As the name suggests, the main difference between this and the other Inspire model is the inclusion of a heart-rate monitor. It’s not a lot of extra money to spend on the feature in all honesty and can be useful in tracking your fitness levels. If that’s a feature you could live without though, because you’re very aware of your heart-rate because you can hear it pounding between your ears when running up that hill, then you may as well save yourself some money. The screen on the HR is ever so slightly bigger if you’re looking for the right nudge to opt for the upgrade though.

The Fitbit Charge 3 is a marked improvement over the still-impressive Charge 2. The thinner design with softer angles on all sides makes it a more comfortable wear. There’s a proper touchscreen this time too rather than a tap-to-cycle one. The Charge 3 is waterproof up to 50m, meaning it’s absolutely fine to wear while swimming and it has tracking features to use while you do. Add in a heart-rate tracker, multiple apps for loads of different sports and a seven-day battery (two days longer than before) and the Fitbit Charge 3 prices start to look like excellent value for money. The prices below are for the standard version, if you want to see the special edition version with its woven or silicon straps and Fitbit pay functionality we’ve rounded up the prices for that one on this guide for every edition of the Fitbit Charge 3.

The Fitbit Versa 2 is a great improvement over the original model. It runs apps faster and has a larger and clearer display. This is great for message notifications and checking up on the stats from your latest run.

Fitbit has teamed up with Amazon to add Alexa support too. So you can use the voice assistant to check on the weather, control smart home tech, start timers and so on. 

You’ll still need to take your phone out with you on your runs to track location or listen to Spotify as there’s no support for Spotify downloads directly on the watch, although you can load it with music files directly instead.

While the official MSRP/RRP of the new Fitbit Versa Lite is quite a bit less than the starting price of the more feature-rich original Fitbit Versa we’ve found that the later is often available for a very similar price to the Lite. In these situations is just makes much more sense to go for the full-fat version.

However, prices will drop eventually and that’s when you should consider the Lite if you don’t need the full suite of features. We absolutely love the blue and magenta versions the Lite is available in too. 

As for features, you get connected GPS via your phone, water-resistance up to 50m and a range of fitness apps. However, compared to the regular Versa, you don’t get Wi-Fi, onscreen workouts, floor/swimming lap tracking or music storage. So take a look at the latest prices and compare them with the regular Versa or Versa 2 if these are features you’d want.

While its feature set isn’t quite on par with that of its bigger brother the Ionic, the Fitbit Versa feels like the same watch but with a lighter and friendlier design and a much lower price point. It brings a clear, bright, and beautiful screen, a new and improved heart rate sensor that will apparently be updated with even smarter functionality via a firmware update, smart notifications, contactless payment capabilities, and all the features Fitbit users will have come to know and love.

With the new Fitbit Versa 2 landing recently though, you may want to consider the newer version instead. That being said, prices will start to drop on this one now too.

The upgraded Fitbit Ace 2 is much improved over the previous version if you need a child-friendly Fitbit. There’s extra protection around the screen to better protect against bumps and scratches. The Ace 2 can be worn while swimming too as the water-resistance has been improved. You’re still getting a bunch of child-friendly versions of the tracking apps and incentives to keep active. Separate kid or parent view modes allow you to have a deeper dive on the stats to track activities if you want too.

The colorful and chunky designs might not be for everyone though and depending on how old (and clumsy!) your child is, it might be worth opting for the more feature-rich and more mature stylings of the Fitbit Inspire (mentioned earlier on this page), which is the same price at most retailers.

The Fitbit Alta is a fetching, form-fitting fitness tracker that looks more like a bracelet. But don’t let its looks fool you too much. Underneath, it packs in the same Fitbit smarts, like step, exercise, and sleep-tracking functionalities. 

To top it off, the battery life is astoundingly good. The display, while quite small offers much more feedback than the LED lights of the cheaper Fitbit Flex 2. For us, this used to be the best cheap Fitbit option if you didn’t want to spend a lot on one – the Flex 2 is just too basic on its own. Nowadays though, we’d generally point you towards the Fitbit Inspire models at the top of the article instead.

The Fitbit Alta HR takes the fetching formula of the original and adds heart-rate monitoring into the mix. During use, we found it to be surprisingly accurate and the OLED display shows the metrics in a simple, easy-to-read fashion.

Much of this package is also available on the Alta, like the usual Fitbit smarts, including step, exercise, and sleep tracking functionalities. To top it off, the battery life is astoundingly good. 

Opt for this model if heart rate-based exercise is important to you. It’s mostly the same as the original Alta, but the added functionality for not much extra cash down is a good thing in our book. That being said, the new Fitbit Inspire HR mentioned earlier has generally replaced this model now.

The Fitbit Ace is aimed at the kids’ market, or more likely, fitness-conscious parents. Thankfully, Fitbit hasn’t gone too far down the targeted design route (unlike the newer Fitbit Ace 2 mentioned earlier) and the Fitbit Ace actually looks very similar to the design of the Fitbit Alta rather than opting for zany colors or ugly armor casing.

The Fitbit Ace fitness apps inside have been simplified a little though to make it much more child-friendly and there are star badges to ‘gamify’ exercise a bit more and give them incentives to be more active. There’s a decent level of waterproofing too as the Ace will withstand splashes, rain and even showers – although it won’t stand for being submerged in the bath or the swimming pool. The smaller wrist-strap can be a better fit for smaller children too.

If your child is a bit older, tech-savvy or growing fast, it may be worth skipping the Fitbit Ace and looking at the Fitbit Inspire as we find it’s generally around the same price nowadays and it’s fully waterproof for swimming too (as is the Ace 2).

Fitbit Charge 2, another modern spin on a Fitbit classic, is packed with improvements and thoughtful tweaks over the original to make it worth your consideration. First off, the screen has been blown out to display even more information than before, including smartphone notifications – even if the feature is a bit limited. 

In addition, the Charge 2 features multi-sport tracking through the comprehensive Fitbit app that we know and love. This Fitbit isn’t the cheapest model out there, but if it’s multi-sport tracking data and on-screen information you seek, the Charge 2 will fit the bill. Better yet, with the Charge 3 out as well now, prices will start to fall on this version.

If the Apple Watch and Android Wear (and now the Fitbit Ionic) smartwatches have caught your eye, but you don’t want to sacrifice fitness know-how (or hundreds of dollars), the Fitbit Blaze may be the wearable for you. It boasts a vibrant display that showcases fitness metrics and a healthy share of smartphone notifications. This is one of the most versatile Fitbits that you can purchase at the moment. This model is splashproof, but not waterproof. But, the Fitbit Charge is much smarter than most and is one to consider if being connected is important to you. Connected GPS allows you to track run routes if you have your phone with you too.

The Fitbit Ionic marked Fitbit’s move deeper into smartwatch territory. It combines the best Fitbit goal-tracking software with all of the major features of a smartwatch, and it’s a little cheaper than an Apple Watch. Plus, it works with both iOS and Android. 

The built-in GPS technology also means you don’t have to take your smartphone out with you to track a route on a run either. You can also upload music to the device and pair it with some wireless headphones for tunes on the go.

If you’re someone who works out a ton, you’ll want to know about the Fitbit Surge. Competing against Garmin’s high-end trackers, the Surge is Fitbit’s most robust offering, packing in a long 7-day battery inside, along with a GPS sensor that can track your run or walk for up to 10 consecutive hours. 

It costs more than many other wearables in the Fitbit range, but it is generally better value than most smartwatches boasting similar specs. The inclusion of GPS, its splashproof design and a battery that can last up to 7 days makes it a smart option for workout enthusiasts.

Dyson’s cordless vacuum cleaners with a pole attachment are the most popular options nowadays, so that’s what we’ve covered first. And while all of the V-series models we’ve mention can also be used in handheld mode by removing the pole, there is a bespoke handheld Dyson called the V7 Trigger we’ve highlighted too. After that, you’ll find our picks of the best remaining traditional upright Dysons if you prefer the raw power and always-ready options provided by being able to plug-in directly to the mains at home. 

Dyson isn’t stopping with just vacuum cleaners too, the company has also made one of the world’s top rated hair dryers too. Take a look at the latest Dyson hair dryer prices too if you don’t believe us.

If you’re after the very best cordless vacuum cleaner on the market, the Dyson V11 Absolute can’t be beaten as the UK company has somehow made the V series’ Air Watts (AW) suction even higher than the V10s. There’s even a fancy LCD display, because apparently Dyson is getting too fancy for mere coloured lights.

This improved tech makes it the most expensive Dyson on the market though and it’s a bit heavier than the older model and takes longer to charge too. But if you’re after that top-level performance on carpets and hard surfaces, this is the one for you. If you’re willing to compromise though, you could save a lot of money by checking out the V10 or older models available as those prices are likely to keep dropping now.

The Dyson V11 Animal has probably caught your eye today as it’s a fair whack cheaper than the V11 Absolute. Let’s find out why.

The V11 Animal is just as powerful, but doesn’t come with a soft roller cleaner head, which is excellent on hard surfaces as it’s able to pick up fine dust that the regular roller version might miss. Otherwise, the UK attachments are the same as those found on the V11 Absolute. So if you’re not too bothered about the diminished (but still pretty great) performance on hard surfaces as you need the vacuum for carpets more anyways, you may as well save the cash by opting for the V11 Animal.

This was the top end cordless Dyson until the V11 came along, but given the massive difference in price, this might be the most sensible option for most buyers. Compared to the V8 (there was no V9, number fans) it has improved suction, better battery and a larger dirt bin. The V10 marks the first time we had a genuine alternative to a corded vacuum cleaner. In the box you’ll find a direct drive cleaner head, soft roller cleaner head, docking station and a charger. The Absolute also comes with a selection of quick-release items like the combination tool, mini motorhead tool, mini soft dusting brush and the crevice tool.

Only available in the UK. For the extra cost at launch (£50 more) it could be said you didn’t really get enough to justify the extra cost of the V10 Total Clean over the Absolute. Since then though, prices have naturally dropped and you might be able to get the Total Clean for a price closer to the Absolute’s if the extras appeal to you. 

Extra attachments aside, the V10 Total Clean is the same excellent cordless vacuum cleaner as the Absolute. You’ll still find a direct drive cleaner head, soft roller cleaner head, docking station and a charger in the box. The quick-release attachments are different though. Here you’re getting a mattress tool, an up-top adaptor (for on top of cupboards etc), an extension hose, combination tool, mini motorhead tool, mini soft dusting brush and the crevice tool.

It’s all in the name here, the Dyson V10 Animal is specially designed to suck up all those annoying pet hairs from your carpets and furniture. Where other vacuums often seem to just push the hair in deeper, the V10 Animal really dives in to get them out. Tools included with the V10 Animal include a combination tool, crevice tool, mini motorised tool and a soft dusting brush.

What you don’t get in the V10 Animal package (hence the cheaper price) is the soft roller brush which is especially good on hard surfaces as it provides more complete coverage and gathers finer dust and dirt particles that the regular roller might not pick up. So if you have more hard floors than carpets at home, you may want to take a look at the Absolute models instead.

Just a few short years ago, the V8 was the ultimate version of Dyson’s cordless rechargeable vacuum cleaners. If you get lucky, you might find them with a big discount compared to the V10, but we often find the prices a bit close for our liking. If that’s the case when you’re taking a look, we’d opt for the extra power on the V10 instead. The Absolute model comes with a soft roller head (great for hard floors) in addition to the regular one.

Like the V8 Absolute above, we’re finding prices aren’t really dropping low enough on the V8 Animal compared to its newer V10 counterpart to justify opting for the older version. When prices are this close we’d prefer the significantly better suction on the V10 Animal instead.

If prices do drop to an appropriate level the V8 cordless vacuum cleaner is a lightweight vacuum cleaner that’s still very capable despite its lower power. The main difference between this and the Absolute above is the lack of a soft brush roller head, which is great for picking up finer dirt on hard surfaces. If you’re using this more for carpets though, then you might as well save the money with the cheaper V8 Animal version.

The Dyson V7 Trigger wipes the floor with handheld vacuum cleaners as you know them. You know which ones, those weedy little things that look more like an anteater’s nose than a vacuum cleaner and barely make hair balls wobble never mind removed. So if you’re ready for a whopping 100 Air Watts of suction, check out the V7 Trigger.

These are best suited for getting to those hard to reach places like doorframes as well as cleaning up dust from hard surfaces of removing pet hair from the sofa. If your home doesn’t have any carpets, this is a very viable option instead and can be easily stored in smaller places regular vacuum cleaner wouldn’t fit. Naturally, all of the cordless vacuums mentioned earlier on this page allow you to remove the tube for a handheld mode too, although they’re significantly more expensive than these Dyson V7 Trigger prices.

As you’ve seen with the other Dyson vacuum cleaners on this page, they’re far from cheap. For the most part at least, as the Dyson Light Ball is less than half the price of the newest cordless vacuum cleaners.

Sure you’ve got a power cord on it and upright vacuums aren’t ideal on the stairs, but if you want a powerful cleaner with the Dyson name on it, the highly manoeuvrable Light Ball comes highly recommended thanks to it’s 90W of suction power that can handle carpets and hard surfaces alike.

It has a larger storage bin than the cordless Dysons too so you certainly won’t need to empty it anywhere near as often. While not as powerful as some of the more expensive upright Dysons we feel this one offers the best value for money given the sharp price increase on the others.

Looking for something lightweight but not bothered about going cordless yet? The Dyson Small Ball is one of the lightest upright vacuum cleaners in Dyson’s range at 5.5Kg and has a collapsible handle allowing you to store it in smaller spaces than most uprights. The Small Ball is also available in an ‘Animal’ variant that comes with a turbine tool for getting stubborn pet hair off the furniture.

So you’re after the beast huh? The 120AW suction power rating should pick up anything you and the kids can throw on the carpet. Hell, those carpet tacks better look out! With a 2.18 litre storage bin you’ll be hoovering for ages before needing to empty it out and the 15m reach should let you get around most of the house without having to swap plugs.

Urban Camo DualShock 4: This model is a bit of a rare find at most retailers so expect higher prices than most models. Today’s best price for the Urban Camo DualShock 4 is $74.99 at Amazon.

Crystal DualShock 4: The clear Crystal DualShock 4 finally has an official US release. We’ve searched around for the best price and that’ll be  $79.95 at Amazon.

Blue Crystal DualShock 4:This new see through blue DualShock 4 controller is a Walmart-exclusive in the US. So you won’t find any other retailers officially selling it outside of places like eBay or Amazon Marketplace. Today though, it’s cheapest at $59.94 at Walmart.

Urban Camo DualShock 4: This one is a bit of a rare find at most retailers so expect higher prices than most models. Today’s best Urban Camo price is £75 at Amazon.

Crystal DualShock 4: Crystal? Well, it’s see through. It’s also an Amazon exclusive apparently. Your new Crystal DualShock 4 is now £51.96 at Amazon.

Grey/Blue DualShock 4: This looks like the same colour controller as the one in the Uncharted 4 Special Edition console bundle. This will be your best bet then if you already own a PS4. We’ve seen this for as low as £45, but sadly the best deal today is a rather untouchable £84 at Amazon.

What’s the difference between the original and new V2 DualShock 4 controller?

If you’ve seen mention of a ‘New’ or ‘V2’ DualShock 4 controller while looking for a new pad, you may be scratching your head. What separates these two controllers? 

Here’s the difference: the new/V2 DualShock 4 was released alongside the PS4 Slim and features a few improvements over the original.

Some listings are a bit vague, but the clearest visual indicator to look out for is the new light bar on the DualShock’s 4 trackpad. This thin slit wasn’t on the original, so just look for the dimly illuminated blue line on the product listing’s image gallery. The original blue/red/gold controllers had black plastic on the back half of the controller, but the V2 versions feature matching colors, albeit a shade darker.

Other improvements include USB functionality, allowing gamers to plug the controller in for lag-free gaming (it simply charged the original), which could give you the edge in online shooters or games like Street Fighter V. You’ll also be able to use this enhanced connectivity to use the DualShock 4 on a PC without paying for the Bluetooth adapter. The rubber on the analogues has been improved (again) to prevent it wearing away so much too.

If you want the most advanced and future-proof streaming device Amazon make without spending a lot of money, the new 4K Fire TV Stick is the one for you. The new streaming media stick packs a wealth of features into a thumb-drive sized stick. For not much more than the older HD-only Fire TV Stick, you get 4K capability, HDR, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, and Dolby Atmos Audio—something very few streaming sticks have. Plus, you also get Alexa, Amazon’s smart assistant, and its voice control capabilities. 

This version is much better than the old hanging dongle Amazon used to make for 4K streaming, and it’s even cheaper. Amazon Fire Stick prices for this 4K model have flitted around the $35/£35 previously this year, so if you see a price that low, grab it while you can. 

Looking for a smart tv experience without another black box on your shelf? Check out the Amazon Fire TV Stick. It offers all of the same content that you’d find on the older full-sized boxes, but in a mini, USB stick-esque form factor. You’ll love how quick and snappy the Fire TV Stick’s interface is, and that it’s intuitively laid out, making most content quick and easy to find. The new voice search functionality is quick and accurate when searching for Amazon or Netflix content, and it’s also a speedy way of hopping between apps. Most major streaming services are supported.

This earlier model only supports HD streaming, so if you’re looking for something to suit a 4K enabled television, you’ll want to take a look at the version further up this page. These Amazon Fire Stick prices are often stepping on each other’s toes so if you don’t need 4K, you may still find the later model cheaper. The Cube comes with its own Ethernet port, 16GB of storage and a built-in speaker as well as top of the range picture quality, as long as your TV can display it. Users are also able to control other compatible smart home devices, including additional speakers, soundbars, thermostats, and security cameras. Compared to Amazon Fire Stick prices, the TV Cube is an expensive piece of kit. You are getting complete control of your Amazon smart home in one neat little black box, however – making it the easiest way of combining all your connected tech.  

Only available in the US. Amazon has released its own DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to record free over-the-air content and watch it via an Amazon Fire TV device or Echo Show (so you’ll need one of those too). There are no subscription fees here, so it’s a tempting option for all you cord cutters out there and with a 500GB capacity on the cheapest model, you’re looking at around 75 hours of storage, so there’s no need to pick up an external drive to save content, which is an issue with some DVRs. 

There’s a larger 1TB capacity version if you want to double down. Hook it up to a HD antenna and you’ll be able to watch and record content from the likes of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and The CW. Better yet, just ask Alexa to do it for you if you’ve got a modern Fire TV device with a voice-remote.

The diminutive Amazon Echo Dot deals are a popular choice all year round as it’s one of the most affordable smart speakers on the planet. Although Amazon designed and built these smart devices, they’re actually on sale at a large number of stores, which means they’re never far away from a discount. We’ll also list the standard price of each of these Amazon Alexa-powered speakers so you can get a better idea of how good the latest discounts in the comparison charts are.

Amazon Echo Dot with Clock launch price: $59.99/£59.99/AU$99.
The 2019 model Amazon Echo Dot with Clock is only a modest upgrade. It’s technically still a 3rd-gen Echo Dot, but now comes with a neat display on the side that can display the time. 

Amazon says one of the most requested questions Alexa gets is for the time, so this will save you a job. Many of us use smart speakers as timers around the kitchen too so we’re happy to see the display is used to show the timer counting down. It will also display the temperature when asking about the weather. Other request types will start to take advantage of this extra functionality in the near future.

The only other improvement over the previous model is a ‘tap to snooze’ option when using the Dot as an alarm. If these new features don’t do much for you, then you can save some money by opting for the regular Echo Dot deals below instead.

Amazon Echo Dot (3rd gen) launch price: $49.99 / £49.99 / AU$79.
The older, standard 3rd iteration of the Echo Dot comes in three colors – charcoal, heather grey, and sandstone (that’ll be black, grey or white to the rest of us). The hockey-puck-shaped speaker has a more refined look with a fabric finish than the older all-plastic speaker. The speaker driver is much larger too, going from a 1.1-inches in diameter to 1.6-inches It’s 70% louder than the previous version and keeps the aux 3.5mm connection for a secondary speaker. You can also connect it wirelessly to external speakers via Bluetooth.

The standard-sized Amazon Echo speaker gets better and better each iteration and this new 3rd-gen model marks the biggest improvement yet, especially for music fans. The audio architecture is now in line with that found in the more expensive Amazon Echo Plus thanks to the neodymium drivers and a larger 3-inch woofer and bigger tweeter too.

It’s ever so slightly chunkier than the 2nd-gen model while keeping the same height. The overall aesthetic is the same though really with the fabric design. That being said, Amazon has launched a new color for the occasion in Twilight Blue (see image above). 

If you already own a Dot and want to round out the sound with a little extra oomph then this will be a great purchase. Or if you’re yet to buy any Alexa speaker, this is a great place to start if playing music will be one of the main reasons you’re buying one.

Amazon Echo (2nd gen) launch price: $99.99 / £89.99 / AU$119.
With a newer version hitting shelves, we’d only go for this version of the Amazon Echo if there’s a significant discount. And as stores start to clear stock out for the new Echo, we should see great deals some soon.

The 2nd-gen Amazon Echo was the firm middle ground of the Alexa family with a more powerful speaker than the Echo Dot. This second-generation version is a bit shorter but houses an upgraded speaker powered by some neat Dolby processing. 

This is the ‘just right’ option in the Echo lineup. It’s not as budget as the Amazon Echo Dot nor is it as premium as the Amazon Echo Plus. It’s the one to go for if you’re going to use the smart speaker a lot to play music but want to keep prices down. If you just want a smart speaker to boss around and make your home smarter, you might as well save a bit of cash by getting the Echo Dot instead.

Amazon Echo Show 8 launch price: $129.99/£119.99/AU$TBC.
Not long after the release of the Show 5, Amazon came along with the Amazon Echo Show 8 and a larger screen. So while the Echo Spot and Echo Show 5 are generally better suited to a bedside table, the new Show 8 works better in larger spaces.

If you’re looking for some hands-free recipe guidance, along with video tutorials in the kitchen, then this is ideal. There is a larger Echo Show as shown below, but the jump in price for a 10-inch screen is substantial to say the least. So if you’re after an Alexa smart speaker with a screen this is the way to go if you want to use it outside of the bedroom.

Amazon Echo Show 5 launch price: $89.99 / £79.99 / AU$129.
This is more like it Amazon. This new member of the Echo Show family has a smaller five-inch screen than the original two Show models and it’s a lot cheaper too. Actually, it’s even cheaper than the Echo Spot which has a comparatively tiny screen. If you can fit this on your bedside table, the louder speaker and bigger screen makes the Show 5 the better buy in our books.

Compared to its bigger brother though or the rival Google Home Hub (aka Google Nest Hub), you might find the screen a little small depending on where you’re going to be seeing it from after requesting something via the Alexa voice-commands. The huge selection of how-to videos are super handy though if you can plug it in close by, especially in the kitchen. Amazon Echo Show (2nd gen) launch price: $229.99 / £219.99 / AU$349.
Amazon released a 2018 update for the Amazon Echo Show, the Alexa smart speaker with a touchscreen. As things stand, it’s a bit more expensive than the previous-gen version and a lot more expensive than the rival Google Home Hub prices. This version of the Echo Show has now phased out the older model.

The updated Amazon Echo Show has a bigger screen, with louder speakers too, making it a much better fit for video content to be enjoyed via your Amazon Prime membership or for free on other channels. You can now also use it as a smart device hub for other devices like smart thermostats or bulbs, meaning you can save some space around your router’s ports. The competition for screen-sporting smart speakers is heating up though, with the Google Nest Hub also competing for your attention.

That being said, this one could get a major discount in the Amazon Black Friday sales.

Amazon Echo Plus (2nd gen) launch price: $149.99 / £139.99 / $229.
Amazon revamped the Echo Plus smart speaker in late 2018. It now shares a similar look to the other Echo speakers, with fabric covering the body instead of a harsh plastic, which has improved the speaker’s audio output too which we appreciated during video calls. You’re getting a bigger sound with the Plus compared to the standard Echo speaker, but not a huge difference in all honest, especially since the newer 2019 Echo upped its game once again.

The main advantage to the Amazon Echo Plus compared to the smaller Echo speakers is the fact that there’s a Zigbee smart home hub built in. So if you have Philips Hue bulbs at home, you no longer need the Hue Bridge to work as the brain to control them via apps or Alexa voice-controls. This is great for controlling smart speakers and smart thermostats too – there’s even a built-in thermometer for measuring room temperatures. The list of smart devices around our homes is growing constantly and the Echo Plus is ready for the future. If you’ve started to build up an annoying cluster of cables going into your router to support your smart home devices, this could help clear them right up.

Amazon Echo Spot launch price: $129 / £119.99 / AU$179.  
The Amazon Echo Spot is a miniature version of the Amazon Echo Show better suited to a desk or bedside table. The small screen is designed to show you little pieces of information rather than watch episodes of The Grand Tour or Mr Robot. But that might be more than enough if you just want to quickly check directions or read a news bulletin. It’s very handy for video calls between other Amazon Echo screen devices too. Check out today’s best Echo Spot prices below.

Amazon has muddied the waters though with the more recent release of the Amazon Echo Show, a smaller version of the tablet-esque standing screen models of their popular smart speakers. It’s bigger than the Echo Spot and quite a lot cheaper too. We’re expecting this model’s price to drop sharply soon or for it to be discontinued.

Amazon Echo Sub launch price: $129.99 / £119.99  / AU$199.
If you’re going all in on the Amazon Alexa audio setup at home, then you’ll want to take a look at the latest Amazon Echo Sub prices. The Echo Sub is not a smart speaker though, it’s a subwoofer to connect to your other Echo speakers, so you’ll need to pick up one of those (you’re already on the right page for them!) if you don’t have any yet. Or, check out some of the bundles available as Amazon has started selling the Echo Sub with a pair of regular Echo speakers in some regions to give you a full stereo sound setup at home. If you’d prefer to just have one beast of a smart speaker with a huge sound, then you may want to check out the latest Google Home Max prices instead – be warned, it’s not cheap.
