Should I care about Space Beast Terror Fright? Despite its absurdly schlocky name, yes, definitely. Its desolate space corridors teem with unseen horrors, and said corridors rearrange themselves each time you play. Also, if you die once, you’re done for good.

It’s been awhile since writer and director Spike Lee had a film that wowed me. Though I’d call myself a fan of Lee’s previous efforts such as Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, School Daze and The 25th Hour, his recent efforts just haven’t measured up to his potential. In fact, I would say that the last great film Lee made was Inside Man back in 2006. But his next project sounds promising as The Wrap reports Amazon Studios has picked up Lee’s next drama called Chiraq. And right now Lee is hoping to land Samuel L. Jackson, Common, Jeremy Piven and rapper Kanye West for the ensemble cast. So what’s the new film about? ›››

Briefly: Even though Andrew Rannells has broken out due to his recurring role in the HBO series “Girls,” the actor had plenty of success as part of the original cast of the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, for which he wont a Grammy and a Tony. But now he’s taking significant roles in moves with a turn in Nancy Meyers forthcoming comedy The Intern. Though he’s keen to make his own movies too as Deadline reports Universal has just picked up and untitled comedy pitch that Rannells will write with Mike Doyle, one of the cast members of Jersey Boys. In addition, “Girls” producer Judd Apatow will produce the film. There’s no plot details yet, but this could be Rannells’ chance for his own Trainwreck like Amy Schumer. We’ll see. ›››

Just last month, we got our first good look at the front of The Thing in an international banner for Josh Trank‘s comic book reboot of Fantastic Four. But the photo wasn’t very good quality, so we’re happy to point your way to three new photos from the late summer release, one that gives us a much better glimpse at Jamie Bell as the rocky hero. Honestly, he doesn’t look too far removed from the version Michael Chiklis played in Fox’s old Fantastic Four franchise, though he looks more jagged and less rubbery. In addition, there’s a new photo of the team as astronauts, and Miles Teller as Reed Richards getting stretched a bit. ›››

Here they are…! Get your first look, sort of, at the cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad for Warner Bros, featuring one hell of a line-up of actors for a one-off DC romp. The photo was tweeted out by writer/director David Ayer today, since (bring it on) production is about to begin on this, and it shows Ayer plus twelve other actors gathered for a “read through”, meaning they read through the script to get a feel for their roles. It features everyone from Will Smith to Margot Robbie to Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, Jim Parrack (looking a lot like Tom Hardy) and even comedian Ike Barinholtz. Oddly, Jared Leto is missing, but I think we’ll be seeing more of him soon enough. ›››

So far, we’ve only been given glimpses of Paul Bettany‘s new character Vision in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. It appears they’re saving most of his action for fans to see in the big screen (could he be the scene staler like Quicksilver was in X-Men: Days of Future Past?). But now we finally have a shot of the pink and green superhero with all the rest of our Avengers and even the title robotic villain. The only downside is that it’s one of the most heavily Photoshopped images I’ve ever seen, and it has so many perspective problems. In looking at this image, you’d have no idea Hulk was supposed to be bigger than any of them. Look below! ›››
