Respawn Boss Vice Zampella to Take Control of DICE LA

Developer will be rebranded.

DICE LA, the studio formerly known as Danger Close Games, has a new leader in the form of Respawn boss and former Infinity Ward chief Vince Zampella. The executive – who will continue to “head coach” the Titanfall developer simultaneously – will rebrand his new team, as an attempt to shun the “support” moniker that’s been attributed to it. Recently, the Los Angeles-based subsidiary has been tasked with aiding its Stockholm counterpart on titles like Battlefield V.

“We want to give it a new image,” he told the LA Times. “We want people to say, ‘This is a destination you can go and make new content.’ I think they’ve kind of gotten the branding that they are the support studio for DICE. I think rebranding is important for showing people, ‘Hey! Come work here. We’re going to do some amazing things.’”
