“I will never achieve anything worthwhile if I leave my heart here…” Fox Searchlight has debuted a new official US trailer for the romantic drama A United Kingdom, which premiered to positive reviews out of TIFF a few months ago. The film tells the true story of Seretse Khama, the king of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and their governments. David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike star as the couple. The cast also includes Tom Felton, Laura Carmichael, Jack Davenport, Charlotte Hope, and Jessica Oyelowo. This film, along with Jeff Nichols’ Loving, are two films that show the power of love and how it transcends race and class and other barriers of society.
