“It’s our first gig – it’s going to be amazing!” Elevation Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for John Carney’s latest film, Sing Street. Carney broke out big at Sundance in 2007 with his beloved musical Once, and he’s coming back to the festival again to premiere Sing Street this month. The plot this time follows a boy growing up in Dublin during the 80’s who escapes his strained family life by starting a band and moving to London. The cast of young unknowns includes Lucy Boynton, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Aiden Gillen, Jack Reynor, Kelly Thornton, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo. The soundtrack for this is killer. All the 80’s bands you know and love, from Duran Duran to The Clash. This looks like it will be fun! I’m planning to catch it at Sundance. ›››
