I feel like I needed to ask your permission before I kissed you…” Focus Features has debuted the first official trailer for The Danish Girl, starring Eddie Redmayne as artist Lili Elbe, and Alicia Vikander as Gerda Wegener. This looks like a very emotional, very powerful follow-up from Tom Hooper, after Les Mis and The King’s Speech. The thrilling cast also includes Amber Heard, Matthias Schoenaerts, Ben Whishaw, Emerald Fennell and Sebastian Koch. The film is being billed as one of the first transgender stories, and it looks magnificent, very deeply influenced by love and connection.
