“There are parts of the house that are unsafe.” We’ve been waiting patiently, and director Guillermo del Toro has finally delivered the teaser trailer for his latest horror project, Crimson Peak. In true teaser fashion, it doesn’t show much, but it makes a bold claim that this is del Toro’s ultimate masterpiece. It looks gorgeous and haunting, but there’s clearly some visual effects that still need to be finished. It’s hard to convey too much of the spookiness of a film like this without using cheap scares, and thankfully, del Toro doesn’t go for that, and let’s Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain shine.
