It looks like Jeff Goldblum and Vivica A. Fox won’t be the only returning cast members from Independence Day who come back for the sequel from director Roland Emmerich. The filmmaker took to Twitter to reveal that Brent Spiner will be back for Independence Day 2. In the original film, Spiner played Dr. Brackish Okun, one of the scientists who worked on the secret government program studying aliens before the invasion happened in Independence Day. He was a weird guy, and we would have thought that he died after his encounter with one of the aliens in the first film, but apparently he’s alive and kicking. ›››

Hahaha! Oh, how David Ayer teases. The next photo from Suicide Squad has appeared on Ayer’s Twitter, following the group shot of the cast yesterday. It addresses the question of “where is Jared Leto?” The actor was noticeably absent from a cast shot that included everyone else, from Will Smith to Margot Robbie to Joel Kinnaman to Viola Davis. The new photo shows Jared Leto, with short green hair preparing to play The Joker, hiding behind half a camera. At what first seems like a bad shot, is actually a reference to the cover of the acclaimed Joker graphic novel The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore & Brian Bolland. Nice one, Ayer. It’s a cool shot, I just wish we’d get more than this tease and the hair shot from before. In time… ›››

Marvel is kicking things up a notch with Avengers 2 just a few weeks away. Up next is a first look at the villain Yellowjacket, the first real photo of him in costume, from the Ant-Man movie directed by Peyton Reed starring Paul Rudd as Hank Pym. This is likely from the next trailer, and just being revealed as a single shot now, but take a look anyway. Yellowjacket is the name of the suit that Darren Cross (played by Corey Stoll) wears when he becomes a villain, with the suit giving him super powers. “Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit doesn’t have a single weapon,” director Peyton Reed told EW. Adding, “whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons.” Looks like at least two of them sticking up like stingers behind his shoulders in this photo. ›››
