“We’ve never faced a threat like this before.” Sony has debuted the second, full-length trailer for Pixels, the video game action adventure creation starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James and Pac-Man. It also stars Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, and Sean Bean. After a fun teaser trailer, they finally explain more of the plot in thist railer, introducing each of the vintage arcade players who will take on these video game invaders (this does seem a bit similar to that “Futurama” episode). Pixels does look like it’s going to be fun to watch, I’ll give it that. I just hope the humor isn’t so bad, but you never know. Enjoy! ›››

“Sounds have soul… build them from scratch, find new ones.” Warner Bros has debuted the first full trailer for We Are Your Friends, starring Zac Efron as a budding DJ/producer in the Electronic Dance Music (commonly referred to as “EDM”) scene in Los Angeles. Don’t throw this one out just yet. But I will say… This looks like Hollywood already remade the French house music film Eden (see the trailer for that film here), and turned into something a bit more Hollywood, with more spectacle and sleaze all around. This doesn’t look bad, and each has their own quirks, just an interesting observation. The cast includes Emily Ratajkowski, Wes Bentley, Shiloh Fernandez and Jon Bernthal. Give it a spin, turn up the volume. ›››

“Make sure that’s the one!” This Thursday (May 21st) will be known “Red Nose Day”, a charity event held to “have fun, raise money and change the lives of children living in poverty in the U.S. and in some of the poorest communities around the world.” It centers around wearing a red nose to spread laughter, but NBC is also hosting their own big TV special on Thursday night to raise money. It will feature all kinds of celebrity appearance, funny sketches and more. One of them debuted online early (via SlashFilm) and features the amazingly talented Anna Kendrick playing Indiana Jones in one of the scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the one where he drinks water from the Holy Grail. It’s an amusing riff on that scene. ›››

“He’s the pirate all pirates fear – Blackbeard!!” Warner Bros has debuted the second full-length trailer for Joe Wright’s Pan, which was initially slated for a summer release but was pushed back until October. Hugh Jackman plays Blackbeard, and he takes one of the main roles, alongside young actor Levi Miller as Peter Pan. We also get to see a bit more of Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Garrett Hedlund as Hook (before he becomes bad), Adeel Akhtar as Mr. Smee, plus Cara Delevingne as a mermaid. There are way more VFX shots in this than the first trailer, but it still feels a bit overly colorful in its design. Other than that, I am actually into this, I can see the whimsical fairy tale idea he’s going for and I think it looks fun. Away we go… ›››

The Maze Was Just The Beginning. It’s time to go back. Fox has debuted the first trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the sequel from young filmmaker Wes Ball. Following up the impressive Maze Runner movie from last year, Ball has been going much bigger in scale, much more post-apocalyptic epic for this one and we finally get a glimpse at the world. The cast is back along with newcomers including: Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Barry Pepper, Lili Taylor and Patricia Clarkson. I’m really, really looking forward to this! It looks quite good. Enjoy! ›››

“I own an island off the coast of Costa Rica…” With just a few more weeks left until Jurassic World hits theaters in June, Universal has started unloading TV spots left and right. One of the latest ones features a John Hammond (originally played by Richard Attenborough) voice-over, borrowing sound clips from the original Jurassic Park. They’re really playing up that connection to the original, and pushing with “The Park Is Open” as the big tagline on every TV spot. Oddly, at one point they have Hammond to say “Welcome to Jurassic World!” So maybe they had someone else do his voice just for that part… Anyway, the rest of the footage is starting to look really good. Chris Pratt and those rapors! I am so ready for this. Bring on dinos. ›››
