    Arms and the Dudes

Meet your new Arms Dealers, David and Efraim. After making three The Hangover movies, what is director Todd Phillips up to next? This is his next project, a movie called Arms and the Dudes, “based on a true story” of two young men who were contracted by the Pentagon to arm America’s allies in Afghanistan. Miles Teller plays David, Jonah Hill plays Efraim, to friends who suddenly start bidding on military contracts, but then they end up in-over-their-heads with the Afghanistan deal. This sounds like it might be really good, especially coming from the comedic mind of Todd Phillips. SlashFilm found four new photos posted online. ›››

  • Watch: New Trailer for Thriller 'Knock Knock' Starring Keanu Reeves

Watch: New Trailer for Thriller 'Knock Knock' Starring Keanu Reeves

    Knock Knock Trailer

“You’ve been a very bad boy, Evan!” Voltage Pictures has debuted a full-length trailer for Eli Roth’s latest film Knock Knock, a wacky home invasion thriller starring Keanu Reeves. He plays the victim, though, and the invaders this time are two feisty, nasty girls – played by Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas. This first premiered at Sundance this January in the Midnight category, but didn’t up with any crazy buzz (nor did we have the chance to see it there). The setup is fairly interesting, but it almost turns into Funny Games half way through and doesn’t seem to go anywhere else. But I’ll watch pretty much anything Keanu stars in. ›››

  • Brad Pitt Back for 'World War Z' Sequel Set to Arrive in June 2017

Brad Pitt Back for 'World War Z' Sequel Set to Arrive in June 2017

    World War Z

Briefly: Paramount has confirmed and cleared contracts and deals for the next World War Z sequel, which is definitely moving forward. The studio has announced a release date of June 9th, 2017 two years from now for “World War Z 2” (though it will likely get a new title). Brad Pitt will be back to star again, and he’ll be working with director J.A. Bayona for this sequel, which will be “starting with a clean slate” according to the screenwriter. The first movie, based on Max Brooks’ beloved zombie book, showed zombies taking over the world in a global epidemic. Only Pitt was brave enough to keep hunting for a solution. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates as they continue to work on this sequel. The first movie opened in June of 2013.

    Meryl Streep & Hugh Grant

Well aren’t these two looking adorable? Pathé and BBC Films have debuted a first look photo at the film Florence Foster Jenkins, the latest from director Stephen Frears following Philomena, Lay the Favorite and Tamara Drewe. In Florence Foster Jenkins, Meryl Streep plays the legendary New York heiress who became an opera singer. Hugh Grant plays her partner St Clair Bayfield. The two can be seen riding in the back of a car, heading home from (what seems like) a night at Carnegie Hall. No release date is set yet, and the film just barely started shooting, so this is a very early first look and we likely won’t see this until 2016. ›››

  • Disney Sets Reese Witherspoon to Star in Live-Action 'Tink' Movie

Disney Sets Reese Witherspoon to Star in Live-Action 'Tink' Movie

    Reese Witherspoon - Tinkerbell

“Don’t you understand, Tink? You mean more to me than anything in this whole world!” More Tinkerbell? Yep. THR is reporting that Reese Witherspoon has been cast in Disney’s live-action film Tink, which will be another movie about Tinker Bell, to star Witherspoon. She will also help produce the project with her partner Bruna Papandrea at their company Pacific Standard. Alas, any plot details are unknown other than that the film is inspired by the world of the classic novel. That novel being “Peter and Wendy” written by J.M. Barrie, where the Tinker Bell character first originated from. No director is attached to this yet either. ›››

Watch: Intense First Trailer for Jay Martin's '7 Minutes' Heist Film

    7 Minutes

“This is our way out, it’s perfect.” Starz Digital has unveiled a trailer for Jay Martin’s 7 Minutes, a modern day intense heist movie about three friends forced to commit a brazen robbery, but end up in a “game of life-or-death”. There’s some interesting twists and turns that they hint at in the trailer; I’m curious who that guy is that pops up at the end with the shotgun. The cast includes Luke Mitchell, Leven Rambin, Jason Ritter, Kris Kristofferson, Joel Murray, Kevin Gage and Zane Holtz. The film is the feature debut of music video director Jay Martin, who also worked as a storyboard artist on a number of major features (I Am Legend, Catching Fire). It looks like it might be engaging, with some solid action throughout. Fire it up. ›››

  • Witcher 3 Exploit Gets You Infinite Money By Killing Cows

Witcher 3 Exploit Gets You Infinite Money By Killing Cows

Just days after the game’s release, a new Witcher 3: Wild Hunt infinite money exploit has been discovered–and it involves mercilessly killing cows over and over and over.

YouTube user WhatsMyGame reveals that the trick–which is an exploit, not a glitch–is really quite simple. All you need to do is find some cows (White Orchard is a good place), kill the cows there, and then harvest their hide for a nice fee of 27 gold. Next, mediate for two hours and the cows will re-appear, thus allowing you to repeat the exploit as many times as you want.

There are only a couple drawbacks. First, the cow corpses don’t vanish, meaning your heartless bovine slaughter will be an inescapable reality, weighing on your conscience (if you have one). Also, local shopkeepers don’t have enough money to pay you once you turn in a certain number of hides.

This isn’t such a big deal, however, as you can always travel to another shopkeeper or simply hoard the cash to spend later. And on the plus side, this exploit can be triggered very early in the game, affording you the nice benefit of being flush with cash from the onset.

We have contacted developer CD Projekt Red to see if the team plans to address this exploit in a future patch.

  • PS4 the "World's Most Powerful Console" According to New Sony Ad

PS4 the "World's Most Powerful Console" According to New Sony Ad

Sony UK has released a new PlayStation 4 TV ad that does not hold back in boasting about the company’s new system, touting it as the “world’s most powerful console.”

The 30-second video hypes three major new and upcoming releases, including Bloodborne, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Batman: Arkham Knight. A narrator also uses the line “only on PS4.”

Bloodborne is the only true PS4 exclusive, although Arkham Knight will have some content made available only for Sony’s console. The Witcher 3, meanwhile, doesn’t have any console-exclusive content.

You can watch the new video below, and if you live in the UK, expect to see it on TV soon.

Although the Xbox One outsold the PS4 in April, Sony’s console is the cumulative leader in the current-generation sales race, with more than 22.3 million units sold.

  • Ahead of E3, Sony Trademarks "The Player" for a Game and TV Show

Ahead of E3, Sony Trademarks "The Player" for a Game and TV Show

Ahead of E3 next month, Sony has filed a new trademark application for something called “The Player.”

The company made the filing May 18 with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. The trademark application is registered to Sony Pictures Television, but also appears to be tied to gaming.

It covers two good/services, the first of which is “downloadable electronic game software; video game software.” While the second specifically mentions “entertainment services in the nature of a dramatic television series.”

No further information about The Player is available in the filing, though the document also includes the image you see below.

Sony has used the word “Player” before in marketing materials for the PlayStation 4, as you can see here. We’ve followed up with Sony, asking for more details about The Player.

The filing was published less than a month before E3 is scheduled to begin next month. Sony closes out Monday, June 15’s events with its show at 6 PM PDT in Los Angeles. GameSpot will bring you all the news from the event as it’s announced. For more on E3 2015, check out GameSpot’s roundup of the dates and times for all the E3 events.
