Can’t say anymore.

Guildford-based developer Supermassive Games may be going multiformat with Until Dawn’s spiritual successor The Dark Pictures Anthology, but its relationship with Sony is still as strong as ever. Man of Medan will launch next year on the PlayStation 4, but we should expect more PlayStation exclusives from the studio in the future.

Speaking with Russian website 4PDA, gaffer Pete Samuels revealed the following: “Well, our relationship with Sony is still excellent. We are working on several unannounced PlayStation exclusives. It’s impossible to talk about them in detail.”

Earlier today, we reported that THQ Nordic had purchased Bugbear Entertainment, developer of Wreckfest and the FlatOut games. This, along with Goat Simulator studio Coffee Stain, is the latest in an extremely aggressive phase of acquiring independent publishers and developers, and as it turns out, the strategy is paying off.

The company’s earnings show a year-on-year net sales increase of 1,403 per cent for the last three-month period. The publisher claims that this significant growth is thanks to its acquisition of Koch Media and Deep Silver. Sales from these companies amounted to $27.6 million, but THQ Nordic’s own titles, such as Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered, helped rake in a further $13.6 million.

Shooting for something different.

11-11: Memories Retold has an interesting proposition: a war game where you shoot not with a gun, but the lens of a camera. In a world where World War 1 is often used as a playground for 360 no-scopes and kill counts, it’s refreshing to see a game that analyses the people tied to the situation in a respectful, story-centric way. It’s also no coincidence that the release has tied into the 100th anniversary of the Armistice being signed.

The game is developed by Digixart and Aardman animations, the latter of whom, you’ll likely know best for their work on Wallace and Gromit. While the style and tone couldn’t be further from the cheese obsessed man and dog, the influence of the British company is clear with a well-developed, somewhat realistic and engaging story. The art style is also wholly unique, with both the characters and the world around them resembling a beautiful oil painting. While this looks undeniably gorgeous from afar, getting up close and personal with NPCs unfortunately makes them resemble something from a PlayStation 2 game.

Detroit: Become Human! Astro Bot Rescue Mission! More!

Sony has absolutely dominated the nominations for The Game Awards 2018, as its exclusives are present in darn near every appropriate category. God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man are both up for Game of the Year, where they’ll have to compete against Celeste, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and – let’s be honest here – inevitable winner Red Dead Redemption 2 for the top honours.

PlayStation 4 exclusives appear in darn near every category, including Detroit: Become Human in the Best Narrative category and Astro Bot Rescue Mission in the Best VR category. Dress as Drake.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG as it’s better known, has taken its sweet time coming to the PlayStation 4 – but Sony’s system will finally get its first chicken dinner next month. Of course, to make up for the delay, developer Bluehole has prepared some PlayStation-themed goodies for anyone who pre-orders the title.

The exclusive cosmetic extras are both themed on Naughty Dog titles, and include a Nathan Drake skin inspired by his Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception outfit and Ellie’s backpack from The Last of Us. Pre-orders are live now, starting at $29.99 for the base game and going all the way up to $59.99 for the Champion’s Digital Edition. You can learn more about all the options through here.

Developed by NapNok Games, Chimparty is one of PlayLink’s first forays into the family game market, something it pulls off with mixed success. On first impressions, its art style is very endearing, with colourful characters and nicely-themed levels being easy on the eye. The fact that you can unlock items throughout the game for you to customise your chimp with is a nice little touch, too.

Issues start to crop up when the gameplay starts, however. The main part of Chimparty is the board game mode, similar to Mario Party, where every player competes to reach the first by winning the minigames that occur every turn. The board is a little confusingly laid out, and since every space can only fit one player on it, it’s easy to forget who is placed where after a minigame.

And just like that, the inevitable has happened. Just confirmed via PlayStation, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to PlayStation 4 following the game’s one year Xbox One console exclusivity. You can watch the trailer above if you don’t believe us.

Obviously this announcement has been coming — it feels like the whole thing was leaked an eternity ago. PUBG, as it’s commonly known, will launch on the 7th December on Sony’s system.

It’s Bethesda’s vault.

Fallout 76’s servers weren’t supposed to go live until midnight on 14th November, but you can play it on the PlayStation 4 right now. Betheda’s online open world RPG is currently playable in the UK, and we’re hearing reports that the same is true across Europe and in various other regions, too. Of course, it’s entirely possible this could be an error, so your mileage may vary.

We’ll have a review of the multiplayer title in the coming days, but we’ve decided to wait until we can play on retail servers like everyone else. In the meantime, you can read our first impressions through here, but a word of warning first: they’re not exactly glowing.

If you’re somehow pining for more content in the unbelievably gigantic Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft has your back. Newly added to the game is an optional boss named Steropes, and yes, he’s a bloody cyclops. Defeating him in battle will net you a legendary bow, but be warned: he’s quite high level.

If you think the constant barrage of blockbuster games is getting too much, consider the indie side of things. Smaller scale games are released all the time, and this time of year, they’re unlikely to get much of a look-in — so it’s nice to see Sony still promoting them via the PlayStation Blog. The latest is Desert Child, and as you can see from the above trailer, it doesn’t take itself very seriously.

It’s an RPG starring a hoverbike racer who’ll take on any old job to get a bit of cash together. From competing in races to delivering pizza, he’ll do anything it takes to achieve his ultimate goal: get to Mars to compete in the Grand Prix. The premise is intriguing at least, and it sounds like the races themselves will be timed to the hip-hop soundtrack, which is pretty neat.
