  • Hitman 2 Heads to Mumbai, Vermont, and More

    Good work, 47.

All of Hitman 2’s locations have been revealed in a new cinematic trailer. In addition to the previously announced Miami and Colombia, gaming’s second-greatest skinhead will be flying first-class to Mumbai, Vermont, and New Zealand. He’ll also be heading to a traditional American suburb named Whittleton Creek, and to a mysterious North Atlantic island named the Isle of Sgàil. Elsewhere, the Sniper Assassin game mode will feature Himmelstein in Austria.

The destinations certainly look eclectic, but we’ll need more context to get a feel for their vibe. We’ve always felt that IO Interactive designs its best levels when there’s a focal point, like the fashion show in Paris, so we’re hoping for more of that. Unfortunately the trailer, for as hype-inducing as it is, doesn’t really tell us a whole lot about what to expect from this brand new batch of levels.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2's PS4 Exclusive Content Shown Off

    Suits you, sir.

Businessmen decided that Red Dead Redemption 2 will get some content 30 days early on the PlayStation 4, and so here are the timed exclusive bonuses in video form. As previously detailed, you’ll be able to saddle up on a new horse, don some different threads, and, y’know, wield a unique revolver that peasants on certain other platforms won’t be able to.

To be honest, if these kind of deals have to be made, we suppose this is the best way to do it. It’s so inconsequential that no one’s going to really feel left out, yet it still gives the platform holder something to boast about. Whatever.

  • Midgard Mishaps Is an Official God of War PS4 Glitch Video, and It's Great

    More draugr?

Making games is really, really hard. We should all know this by now, but no one knows it better than the folks who churn away at them every day. Even uber-polished masterpieces like God of War go through a lot of issues and changes during development, and this video, direct from Sony, highlights some hilarious work-in-progress glitches and bugs.

If you’re sensitive to spoilers, you may not want to watch, but this short video is a brilliant look at some of the problems Santa Monica Studio had to face as it brought the game to an amazing standard. From Atreus repeatedly warning of non-existent draugr to a “dance-off” full of animation glitches, this is a brilliant few minutes, and shows Sony isn’t afraid to poke fun at itself.

  • Spider-Man PS4's The Heist DLC Gets Trailer Showing Off New Suits and Activities

    Just the facts.

It’s launch day for The Heist, the first DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man. Of course, this means we get a brand new trailer, and it’s another Just the Facts video starring J. Jonah Jameson. If you’d rather go into the DLC totally fresh, it might be best to steer clear of this trailer, as there’s plenty of new footage.

We see clips from some new cutscenes, as well as the first glimpse at new activities, and gameplay featuring each of the new Spidey suits. It’s all voiced over by JJJ himself with his usual love it or hate it attitude.

  • Sony Sending Out Invites for PSN Name Change Firmware 6.10 Beta

    What’s in a name.

It was announced recently that Sony is finally taking steps towards implementing the ability for PSN members to change their username. The oft-requested feature is coming, but before the platform holder rolls out the update to everyone, a select few will be taking part in a beta test to ensure the process runs as smoothly as it can.

According to users on ResetEra, Sony is sending out invitation emails right now to select participants. If you’ve signed up for firmware beta tests before, it might be worth checking your inbox to see if you’ve been invited. If you do get to take part, you’ll be able to install PS4 firmware update 6.10 and give the name changing process a bash.

  • Rockstar Expects Turbulence Upon Red Dead Online Release

    Wind from the West.

In the wake of Bethesda’s pre-emptive Fallout 76 apology letter overnight, Rockstar has issued a statement of its own, explaining that “there will inevitably be some turbulence” when Red Dead Online releases next month. The multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 will go into beta for everyone who owns the main game in November, but the publisher wants your help “fixing teething problems” and transforming the mode into “something really fun and innovative”.

We suppose it’s good that the companies are being upfront, but we do find this kind of correspondence for full-priced products a bit strange. We suppose in Red Dead Redemption 2’s case it’s not as bad as Fallout 76 because there will still be a highly polished single player campaign on offer, but how do you feel about publishers effectively asking players to help bug test their games? It’s a bit weird, right?

  • EA Motive Founder Jade Raymond Departs Montreal Studio

‘We wish her all the best’.

In a surprise move, former Ubisoft executive and EA Motive founder Jade Raymond has left the behemoth publisher. Games Beat reports that Samantha Ryan – who’s currently in charge of Maxis, BioWare, and EA’s mobile studios – will take over, fronting all of the company’s North American sub-units apart from Respawn and EA Sports.

The reason for Raymond’s departure is unclear. EA Motive was working on an unannounced Star Wars game, but it’s also functioned as a support studio for various games, including Star Wars: Battlefront 2.

  • Talking Point: What's the Background Behind Your PSN Username?

    My name is what?

PlayStation Network will finally allow you to change your username soon, and with that in mind we figured it’d be fun to share the history behind our IDs. So before we let you loose in the comments section, we got all of our team into one room and asked some hard hitting questions, like what is the meaning of ‘Quintumply’ anyway?

    Annette Magaña: anet123

Yup, it’s that boring. I butchered my name and it looks like my 10 year old self was as lazy as my present self. 123 because, why not? Maybe I thought I was too mature to have ‘cookieblaster’ as a username so… Yeah! I’d like to think I just knew to plan ahead from early on.

  • You Can Spend Up to £6,100 on Devil May Cry 5 with Ultra Limited Edition

    Includes replica coat.

In Japan, you can pre-order the Ultra Limited Edition of Devil May Cry 5. This might sound like a typical, over the top collector’s version, but Capcom is going all out with a pretty insane offering. This version of the game includes one of three replica coats — your choice between the three protagonists.

V’s coat is worth roughly £4,000, Nero’s about £5,000. However, if you want to don the coat worn by series favourite Dante, you’ll have to fork over around £6,100. Click here to find the pre-order page, but don’t all rush at once.
