Way before I started this website I was a huge fan of this online TV series called Pure Pwnage, one of the original series from back when about geeky video gamers who “pwn n00bs” all day. The show has amassed a global following and now years later they’re about to premiere a feature-length film called Pure Pwnage: Teh Movie. A teaser trailer has debuted and if you love video games, geeks being uber-geeky, or anything to do with pwning n00bs then fire this up and get a look at what they’ve been working on. Jeremy (played by Jarett Cale) reunites with his friend FPS_Doug (Joel Gardiner) to become a professional gamer. This is a very niche show that not everyone will be into, but I’ve always admired the geeky passion these guys have. ›››

“To keep going, we’ve got to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.” The Orchard has debuted a trailer for The Yes Men Are Revolting, an autobiographical documentary about the “Yes Men”, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, two “hilarious activists” that tell their own story in this film. As they explain, they have been pulling off corporate pranks for years and now are trying to find new inspiration fighting climate change. Yeah it looks a bit cheesy, but I’m much more interested in the angle of seeing them pull off their hoaxes than anything. Big screen, big sound, dinosaurs, beer, popcorn, pizza, no texting. Can it get any better than that? Alamo Drafthouse is providing one amazingly sweet deal by offering an exclusive, custom-made Jurassic World pint glass to customers who pre-order tickets to the see the new dinosaur movie in theaters this June. The pint glasses are actually velociraptor pint glasses, featuring a motif from the scene where Chris Pratt rides on his motorcycle with the raptors. It was illustrated by Eric Manche, and looks awesome in the photos. I want one, or two, or three, or all of them. No but seriously, this is cool, and I love that they’re doing this and making it so easy to get them – just by pre-ordering. A few may be available to buy at theaters but that’s it. ›››

There’s no escaping your own mind. HBO has debuted a trailer for their upcoming premiere Nightingale, a feature film starring David Oyelowo in a one-man drama directed by Elliott Lester. Oyelowo plays a mentally unbalanced war veteran who becomes so obsessed with an impending dinner appointment with it old friend that it drives him mad. Many will agree that Oyelowo should’ve received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Selma last year, but he’s a very talented guy and I’m sure he’ll prove himself again and again, with roles like this one showing how great he is. There goes Big Ben. Considering the results of the election in the UK today, it’s a particularly perfect time for Focus Features to drop this poster for London Has Fallen. This sequel to Olympus Has Fallen is not the Roland Emmerich one (that was White House Down), instead it’s the one with Gerard Butler. Who, believe it or not, is back for this sequel being directed by Babak Najafi. The massive cast includes: Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Robert Forster, Jackie Earle Haley, Charlotte Riley, Sean O’Bryan, Alon Aboutboul and Waleed Zuaiter. None of them are seen on this poster, because it’s just a shot of the Big Ben clocktower being blown out. I guess we’ll find out who did this later? ›››

While we wait for Warner Bros to figure out what to do with Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special, the filmmaker already has another project lined up. A press release sent out has announced that Nichols is attached to direct a film called Loving, starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, based on the couple behind the seminal 1967 civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia. Production is already slated to start shooting in September later this year in Virginia, meaning this is definitely next for Jeff Nichols, and Warner Bros is likely going to push back Midnight Special until after he finishes all the major work on this film. “I was struck by the simplicity of the Loving’s story, and I hope to make this a painfully beautiful film,” Nichols comments. Will she finally be nominated for this one? Find out this fall, when Universal Pictures releases… By the Sea, the new film written & directed by Angelina Jolie Pitt. Yes, that’s her actual name now. Jolie Pitt has fully transitioned into being a filmmaker more than anything, but also stars in this one. Written, directed and produced by Angelina Jolie Pitt, the film stars Brad and Angelina as husband and wife staying at a seaside resort in 1970s France. Universal will be releasing By the Sea in theaters starting November 13th, according to Deadline, putting it up against The 33, Rock The Kasbah and Rings that same weekend. More! Just yesterday we posted a first look at the cover of Entertainment Weekly, featuring three of the cast members from Quentin Tarantino’s new film The Hateful Eight, hitting theaters late this year. Well, as expected, hidden inside the pages of the magazine are even more photos from the snowy western, starring quite a cast: Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Madsen, Zoe Bell, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Demian Bichir, Walton Goggins and Channing Tatum, in some kind of role. Not all of them are in these photos, but we at least get to see a few more of the characters that weren’t originally on that cover. I’m excited for this based on the look of these alone, but also hoping for another fun film from Tarantino. It really looks like Kurt Russell is having so, so, so much fun in this film. Hold onto your butts!! This is getting wild! I have been hoping they would start showing some of the more jaw-dropping awesome footage from Jurassic World, and they finally are. Universal has debuted another new TV spot for Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic Park follow-up Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt and one nasty Indominus Rex. This genetically-created dino seems to be the star of the movie, and you really see that in this spot, with so much footage of her raging all over. Ohh if only they could let it keep rolling and you’d see the people actually being eaten. Oh my! The cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, BD Wong and plenty of others. This just looks so unbelievably stunning in 4K, all the cinematography is fabulous, it looks gorgeous seeing so much depth in the shadows. The cast includes Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Trevor Howard and Bernard Lee. This is one of those classics that if you haven’t ever seen, it’s always the right time to watch.
