First Red Band Trailer for R-Rated Stop-Motion Movie 'Hell & Back'

    Hell & Back Trailer

“Enjoy your stay in hell!” Freestyle Releasing has debuted a R-rated trailer for the R-rated stop-motion movie Hell & Back, from the animation studio behind “Trip Tank” and “Robot Chicken” (two excellent animated shows). It’s a goofy, foul-mouthed trip into the depths of hell, but it looks quite fun I must say. The ensemble voice cast includes Mila Kunis, T.J. Miller, Michael Peña, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Coolidge, Bob Odenkirk and Danny McBride. I’m not sure if they were riffing jokes that got worked into the animation, or if it was all scripted, but some parts are funny, other moments are not. The animation looks great, and I’m just impressed they actually made a brand new R-rated stop-motion movie. Have fun! ›››

Here's All the Character Posters from Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight'

    The Hateful Eight

“Move a little strange, you’re gonna get a bullet. Not a warning, not a question, a bullet.” Time to meet all eight of the untrustworthy bounty hunter vermin shacked up under one roof in a blizzard during Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. From the “Bounty Hunter” himself, to “The Hangman” and his “Prisoner”, to “The Sheriff” and “The Mexican”, as well as “The Little Man”, “The Cow Puncher” (my favorite name) and of course, “The Confederate”. Th first teaser for The Hateful Eight just came out last week and they’ve been revealing each of these posters day-by-day, one for each of the “eight”. Now we can get a good look at all of them together. I like these, but nothing tops that blue Comic-Con poster art for Hateful Eight. Your choice? ›››

  • Mickey Rourke & Freida Pinto in 'Blunt Force Trauma' Official Trailer

Mickey Rourke & Freida Pinto in 'Blunt Force Trauma' Official Trailer

    Blunt Force Trauma

“This one feels different.” The official UK trailer has debuted for a new film called Blunt Force Trauma, starring Mickey Rourke, Ryan Kwanten and Freida Pinto. Despite that rather interesting cast, this is actually going straight-to-DVD and looks a bit like a low budget clunker with some very underlit scenes. The film is about gunfighters, or modern day gun-slingers who actually fight with pistols and bulletproof vests. You know what, that is a cool idea I’ll give them that, but this has other problems. Anyway, the cast includes Jon Mack, Jason Gibson, Carolina Gómez and Maruia Shelton. Check it out below if you’re curious. ›››

  • Must Watch: Second Trailer for Ridley Scott's Sci-Fi 'The Martian'

Must Watch: Second Trailer for Ridley Scott's Sci-Fi 'The Martian'

    The Martian Trailer

“If I can’t figure out a way to make contact with NASA, none of this matters anyway.” 20th Century Fox has debuted the second fantastic trialer for Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi The Martian, starring Matt Damon as a NASA astronaut stranded on Mars. This trailer plays in reverse, starting out with Damon being trapped on Mars by himself, trying to survive. Eventually we learn they’re coming back to get him and it’s that mission we follow as he learns to survive. Everything about this looks amazing, I’m seriously very excited for this – the story, and the performances, and more harrowing space travel adventures. The huge cast includes Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Kristen Wiig, Jessica Chastain, Sean Bean, Michael Peña, Mackenzie Davis, Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover & Chiwetel Ejiofor. Fire this up! We’re coming for you Watney! ›››

  • Watch: First Trailer for Robert Eggers' Folktale Horror Film 'The Witch'

Watch: First Trailer for Robert Eggers' Folktale Horror Film 'The Witch'

    The Witch Trailer

Evil takes many forms. A24 has debuted the first official trailer for The Witch, a film from Sundance this year written and directed by Robert Eggers, making his feature directing debut. Ralph Ineson stars as William, Kate Dickie stars as Katherine, in this vintage horror thriller set in New England in the 1600s about a family and their suddenly missing children. Eggers did win the Best Director award at Sundance this year for this film. It certainly seems very unsettling, and very unique, unlike most horror films we find these days. I’m not particularly into this, the whole thing about the goat seems campy to me. Take a look below. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Indie Horror 'Hellions' Featuring Robert Patrick

Official Trailer for Indie Horror 'Hellions' Featuring Robert Patrick

    Hellions

These trick-or-treaters are not here for candy. IFC has recently debuted the official trailer for indie horror Hellions, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in the Park City at Midnight category. Chloe Rose stars as Dora, a pregnant teenager home alone on Halloween terrorized by tiny, evil trick-or-treaters after her baby. The cast includes Robert Patrick as a cop who tries to help her. This looks very creepy, and disturbing, and just weird and totally out of place during the heat of the summer. But it’s being released later in the fall, closer to Halloween, which is the perfect time to let these Hellions loose. Have fun! ›››

  • Watch: Trailer for Wim Wenders' Somber 'Every Thing Will Be Fine'

Watch: Trailer for Wim Wenders' Somber 'Every Thing Will Be Fine'

    Every Thing Will Be Fine

“Is there nothing that can get to you?” A trailer has debuted online for Wim Wenders’ very heartbreaking, somber, moving film Every Thing Will Be Fine. The film stars James Franco, following him across 12 years as he tries to cope with the weight of a fatal accident one snowy night on a quiet road. This trailer gives away pretty much everything, so don’t expect to be surprised, just expect to learn where the story is going – and that’s the whole point. It’s about actually feeling the emotions over years, not just the shock of what happened. I saw this at Berlinale (read my review) and liked it, despite being so somber. Also starring Rachel McAdams, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marie-Josée Croze and Peter Stormare. Give it a look. ›››

  • John Boyega Cast in James Ponsoldt's Upcoming Film 'The Circle'

John Boyega Cast in James Ponsoldt's Upcoming Film 'The Circle'

    John Boyega

From Star Wars to Silicon Valley. Actor John Boyega has been cast in one of the main lead roles in James Ponsoldt’s upcoming new film The Circle, an adaptation of Dave Eggers’ book The Circle. With big news about Google and Amazon recently, including stories about the many people who work at those companies, it makes sense that this project is suddenly being pushed ahead. Last year we posted that Tom Hanks was circling a role, and Deadline confirms he’s cast in The Circle along with Emma Watson. Boyega is the latest addition. He’ll play Ty, the “iconized boy-wonder visionary of the Circle, an Internet monopoly which links users’ personal emails, social media, banking and purchasing with their universal operating system. The result is one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency.” Sounds fun, I trust in Ponsoldt. ›››

  • James McAvoy & Daniel Radcliffe in First 'Victor Frankenstein' Trailer

James McAvoy & Daniel Radcliffe in First 'Victor Frankenstein' Trailer

    Victor Frankenstein Trailer

“I shall create a man after our own image!” 20th Century Fox has debuted the first official trailer for Victor Frankenstein, starring James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale, with a screenplay by Max Landis. As interesting of a concept as this may seem, with a talented cast, alas this looks absolutely awful, with CGI filling up so many scenes and the rest just looking considerably dull and instantly forgettable. Aside from McAvoy and Radcliffe as awkward friends, the cast includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott, Mark Gatiss, Freddie Fox and Daniel Mays. Most of the all the dialogue is just atrocious, and makes me want to stay as far away from this as possible. Enjoy! ›››

They're Already Planning a Sequel to 'What We Do in the Shadows'

What We Do in the Shadows

Now this makes me happy to hear. Word from Jemaine Clement himself is that they’re already planning a sequel to one of the best cult horror comedy indie gems this year. If you haven’t seen it yet, and even if you have – stop, drop dead, and watch What We Do in the Shadows as soon as you can. It’s hilarious, and completely original, and after it’s all done, you’re going to want more. And you’ll also be happy to know that there is more on the way. Clement told the site Stuff.co.nz in a recent interview, found via SlashFilm, the sequel is “in the planning stage” and would be centered around the werewolf Anton, played by Rhys Darby. ›››
