Ubsisoft is working “furiously” to fix the various bugs and other issues that have affected all versions of Assassin’s Creed Unity since its release on Tuesday, the developer writes in its forums.
“Our team is furiously working to resolve bugs and performance issues for Assassin’s Creed Unity on all platforms,” a Ubisoft community manager wrote. The developer also clarified that issues with the PC version of Unity are not AMD-specific, as was previously suspected.
This is not right
“We apologize for any confusion and want to be clear that we are working with all of our hardware partners to address known issues that exist across various PC configurations,” the Ubisoft manager said. “We care deeply about a smooth and enjoyable Assassin’s Creed experience and we will continue to update customers as these issues are fixed.”
The Assassin’s Creed Unity bugs were so significant that Ubisoft even launched a live updates blog where it provides up-to-the-minute reports about the status of the game.
Earlier today, Ubisoft released patches for the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Assassin’s Creed Unity, fixing things such as main character Arno falling through the ground and game crashes. Ubisoft notes, however, that players may still experience framerate issues and other performance problems.
You can see a full, platform-by-platform breakdown of Assassin’s Creed Unity known issues and, where available, temporary workarounds, here on Ubisoft’s forums.
Assassin’s Creed Unity’s troubled launch this week has prompted a rethink on Ubisoft’s behalf concerning how it works with game critics and the gaming community at large.
Final Stand, the appropriately titled final expansion for 2013’s Battlefield 4, will be released on November 18, Electronic Arts announced today on its blog.
The Final Stand DLC features four arctic-themed maps and new, futuristic weapons. Battlefield 4 Premium members will get the content first, before it’s released publicly on December 2.
Final Stand delivers four maps (Operation Whiteout, Hammerhead, Hangar 21, and Giants of Karelia), all of which take place in wintry environments. Another focus of Final Stand is its near-future weapons and gadgets such as a DS-3 DECOY gun attachment that emits false blips on enemies’ mini-maps and the XD-1 Accipiter, a remote-controlled, LMG-equipped drone.

Square Enix has published a new version of the ten-minute Final Fantasy XV gameplay trailer originally released in October as part of the Paris Game Festival. What’s new this time, however, is that this video comes straight from Square Enix, and it’s available to watch in glorious 1080p.
One thing to consider as you watch the trailer, however, is that it may not necessarily be representative of the final game. “This is a work in progress. The final product may be subject to change,” Square Enix says.
The video highlights Final Fantasy XV’s massive world, and some of the creatures and lush environments you’ll explore on your journey.
A second video (below) provides a deeper dive into the technology and processes Square Enix used to bring Final Fantasy XV to life.
As for when you’ll get to play Final Fantasy XV, the game’s director recently said the title is only 55 percent finished. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll need to wait another eight years to play it. For more on Final Fantasy XV, check out GameSpot’s previous coverage.

The games are damaged potentially not even in working order. Nevertheless, they are pieces of gaming history, and that fact no doubt drove the bidding to what you might consider to be absurd levels for games dug out of a landfill. You can see all the auctions and ending prices here.
The city of Alamogordo, through the Tularosa Basin Historical Society, put a total of 100 games dug out of the landfill on eBay just last week (via Polygon). In addition to E.T., games such as Asteroids, Centipede, and Missile Command were put on sale through the popular auction side.
Every game sold comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and a property tag. Also included is a pamphlet with photos from 1983 and the dig earlier this year.
In addition to the auction, Alamogordo is giving away copies of the excavated games to museums around the world. A deeper dive into the Atari landfill dig will be chronicled in upcoming documentary Atari: Game Over, which was produced by Xbox and will debut on November 20.

Only 1,500 units will be made. It’s unclear when orders will ship, but Naughty Dog says shipping is only available to the US and Canada. Read more about the Clicker bust at Naughty Dog’s website.
