2K Games on Wednesday released the announcement trailer for Mafia III, the next entry in the organized crime series. The video confirms the game’s time period and setting as being 1960s New Orleans.
We also learned the first story details for Mafia III. You play as Lincoln Clay, a black Vietnam veteran who began life as an orphan. The story in Mafia III sees Lincoln fighting against the Italian mob in New Orleans, but there’s so much more to it. Read GameSpot’s just-published preview for more.
Mafia III is in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and is expected to launch in 2016. The game is being built by newly formed 2K studio Hangar 13, itself led by Star Wars veteran Haden Blackman.
Many fans of Bungie have been clamoring for a PC port of the developer’s shooter, Destiny. The studio has refused to say anything about a PC version of the game, however, instead opting to focus on the console versions. But now, it appears that Bungie might be gearing up to develop for PC. The studio is hiring a “PC Compatibility Tester.”
Spotted on the Bungie careers page, the PC Compatibility Tester will be primarily responsible for assessing a game’s quality on computers. The job listing sounds fairly similar to other QA jobs, except this one is specifically focused on making sure a game works on PC.
“The PC Compatibility Tester will evaluate PC hardware-specific features and ensure various systems work together across multiple PC configurations to provide a great experience,” the description explains. “This is a challenging area to test, so we are only looking for the most resilient and technically minded testers. If you love solving new problems on a continuous basis with an eye for detail, you will love PC Compatibility Test at Bungie.”
It’s been a long time since a Bungie game came to PC. Halo 2 was the most recent Bungie title that made its way to PC. It was ported by Microsoft Game Studios and it ran exclusively on the Windows Vista operating system.
The job description, however, suggests that Bungie is making a PC game in-house. The most logical explanation for this position is that Bungie is finally working on porting Destiny to PC. This isn’t much of a surprise, since back in June 2014, publisher Activision stated that the game is a “natural fit” on computers.
It probably will be at least a few months before we hear anything more about this, however. Bungie is currently working on a big new expansion for Destiny, called The Taken King. It launches on September 15 and adds a huge new location to the game.
A release date for North America was not revealed, but we’ll have that information to you as soon as it’s announced.
Announced at E3 2015 in June, Triforce Heroes focuses on co-op puzzle-solving and monster-battling, with an emphasis on crafting different outfits with different stats.
The game lets you team up with three friends to conquer dungeons. But even though there are three heroes and numerous costumes to wear, you can’t play as a woman.

As rumored, Mega Man and Dead Rising designer Keiji Inafune’s platformer Mighty No. 9 has been delayed. Developer Comcept announced the news today in a message sent to backers (via NeoGAF).
“We are unable to confirm a final release date at this time, however we will be aiming for a release in Q1 2016,” the developer said. “Once a solid release date is set, we will announce it immediately to our backers and fans.”
As for why Mighty No. 9 is being delayed, Comcept said it needs extra time to fix bugs.
“All of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state,” it said. “However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.”
“We appreciate your support and patience regarding this matter, and look forward to delivering Mighty No. 9 to our backers and fans in the best state possible.”
Mighty No. 9’s delay is no surprise. Last month, product pages for the Mega Man-like game suggested the title had shifted to 2016. At the time, publisher Deep Silver declined to comment.
Mighty No. 9 is in development for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, 3DS, and PC. In the game–which was funded on Kickstarter–you play as a robot named Beck who is the only one not infected by a mysterious virus that makes everyone else go crazy.
Ahead of the game’s official announcement on Wednesday, 2K Games has now released another teaser image for Mafia III. Like the first teaser image, this one also depicts what appears to be a classic car driving through a wooded area at night. The full reveal is scheduled for August 5 at 5 AM PDT / 8 AM EDT.
Mafia II was developed by 2K Czech. Haden Blackman, who worked at LucasArts in the 1990s and 2000s, is leading the new team at Hangar 13.
After years of rumor and speculation, 2K officially confirmed Mafia III last week. But the company did so without sharing the details people might be most interested in.
“Mafia III is the next installment in the popular series known for immersing players into a world of organized crime through rich narrative storytelling and a beautifully crafted game world featuring period-accurate cars, music, and fashion,” 2K said in a statement at the time.

EA Sports has announced the full soundtrack for this month’s Madden NFL 16. Unlike last year’s game, which featured stadium rock anthems such as “Welcome to the Jungle” and “We Will Rock You,” Madden NFL 16 is more interested in highlighting new artists and new music.
That said, the 30-song soundtrack includes tracks you’re probably already familiar with from a variety of genres. But it also has brand-new cuts from artists such as Brooke Candy, Jimi Charles Moody, LunchMoney Lewis, Robert DeLong, and Youngblood Hawke.
“For the last few years, our Maddensoundtracks focused on recreating the stadium experience,” EA executive Steve Schnur said in a statement. “But with Madden NFL 16, we’ve now returned to our roots for introducing new artists and new music. This soundtrack is truly one of our most adventurous, and one we think fans will enjoy the mix of genres and artists we’ve included.”
You can listen to songs from the soundtrack through the Spotify playlist below. You’ll also find the entire soundtrack posted at the bottom of this story.

Bobby Kotick, the president and CEO of gaming giant Activision Blizzard, has made a sizable donation to New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s presidential campaign.
“As the night wound down, Governor Christie, who some believe is a prime candidate for Mr. Romney’s ticket, finally emerged from the bar. He strode through the lobby in high spirits, guffawing with friends, with his arm around Bobby Kotick, chief executive of Activision Blizzard.”
In addition to his role at Activision Blizzard, Kotick is a member of the board of directors at The Coca-Cola Company. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for The Center for Early Education and is the Chairman of the Committee of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
