All 132 Hearthstone The Grand Tournament Cards Revealed

Blizzard has revealed the final set of new cards that will add to its next Hearthstone expansion, The Grand Tournament.

Below you’ll find galleries of all the 82 new hero cards, allocated between Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior. Beneath that is a collection of the other 50 Common cards added to the expansion.

While Blizzard has yet to reveal an exact release date for the Grand Tournament update, a major patch is due to be deployed on Tuesday, and Blizzard had previously confirmed that all the 132 new cards will be unlocked at some point in August.

Each hero class is set to receive nine new cards, with one Legendary added to each (although the Hunter will be given ten new cards, with a second Legendary).

Two new mechanics will be added. The first is Inspire, which, for cards that include this mechanic, will activate a special ability whenever the player uses their hero power.

The second is a new minion battlecry called Joust, which, when activated, will pick two random cards from both the player’s and their opponent’s deck. Should the player who triggered Joust reveal a card with a higher value than their opponent, their minion who activated the Joust will receive a benefit.

It is expected that both new mechanics, along with other new cards added into the mix, will discourage the use of low-value aggro cards.

Players can unlock these new cards by purchasing packs of five, either with real money or through in-game currency.

Hearthstone is believed to be earning Blizzard some $20 million each month, according to new research.

  • Don't Expect More Fallout 4 Story Details Before Launch

To date, Bethesda hasn’t given away much regarding Fallout 4‘s overall narrative. This was no accident, as Bethesda’s Pete Hines explains in a new interview that the company doesn’t want to give too much away, too early. Don’t expect to hear much more about Fallout 4’s story between now and launch, he said.

“I would be stunned if we said anything else about the story ever again [prior to launch],” Hines told IGN. “We’re going to let everybody experience that in the game as much as possible. But there are certain trade-offs you have to make to build some amount of awareness to what the game is offering, so you’re willing to make some sacrifices.”

Thankfully for fans, Fallout 4 is coming out in a just a few more months. The game is scheduled to launch on November 10 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The game was “basically done” before Bethesda even officially announced it in June–the development team is now spending its time fixing bugs and polishing the game. After this, Bethesda will turn its attention to mod support and DLC.

“I can tell you with all confidence that right now the team is 100 percent focused on the game itself,” Hines said. “Mod support, DLC… That’s all nice, but if we don’t deliver an awesome game by November 10 our DLC plans won’t matter and our plans for mod support will be irrelevant. We have to deliver a great game [in the first place].”

“That doesn’t mean [the development team] haven’t spent some amount of time thinking about what they might do [regarding Fallout 4 DLC],” he added. “But honestly that’s not a focus for anybody right now.”

Fallout 4’s mod tools are launching in 2016 for PC, and coming later to consoles. Meanwhile, firm DLC plans have not yet been announced, but if predecessor Fallout 3 is anything to go by, fans can expect some significant post-release add-ons.

Overall, Hines said he thinks every game that Bethesda Game Studios works on “pushes the boundaries of what is possible,” and this is no different with Fallout 4.

“The team believes that this is the biggest, most ambitious game that they’ve ever made,” he said. “And from the guys who made Skyrim, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Morrowind, that’s a pretty lofty goal.”

  • Steven Spielberg's Halo TV Show in "Very Active Development"

Although Microsoft has not said anything about it in some time, the upcoming Halo TV show produced by veteran film director Steven Spielberg remains in “very active development.”

In May 2014, it was reported that Microsoft was in “deep negotiations” with premium cable channel Showtime for the show. Now, that link has apparently been confirmed, as Showtime president David Nevins confirmed that the program has found a home at his network.

“It’s still in development,” Nevins told IGN about the Halo TV show. “Still in very active development.”

Asked if fans could expect more details about the show soon, Nevins laughed and said, “No time soon.”

The Halo TV show was at one time expected to debut in fall 2015 alongside Halo 5: Guardians, but it doesn’t sound like that’s going to happen. It’s unclear exactly what’s holding the project up, but it’s not uncommon for Hollywood productions to take a long time to come to fruition.

The Halo show was announced in May 2013 as part of the Xbox One reveal event. We still don’t know much about it, but Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has said before that the show won’t just be “filler.”

After production house Xbox Entertainment Studios shut down last year, the fate of the project was called into question. But Microsoft quickly stepped in to say the show would not be affected.

Before that, reports suggested that District 9 director Neill Blomkamp may direct the pilot.

Although Spielberg’s Halo TV show may not be here anytime soon, fans can look forward to Halo: The Fall of Reach, an animated series set to launch this fall with Halo 5.

Disclosure: Showtime is owned by GameSpot parent company CBS.

  • Windows 10 Can Find and Disable Pirated Games

Microsoft has updated its Windows 10 end user license agreement, revealing the latest version of its operating system is capable of identifying whether counterfeit software or unauthorised hardware is running, and disable it.

As brought to light by Alphr, section 7B of the EULA explains Microsoft’s ability to immobilise pirated software and hardware.

“We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorised hardware peripheral devices,” the notice read.

In effect, this means illegally acquired games running on PCs, Windows phones, and tablets can be disabled. Although it is not clear what is meant by “unauthorised hardware peripheral devices,” controllers that have been modified to provide unfair advantages in games are the most probable target of this clause.

Despite the advent of services such as Steam, which employ DRM to protect content, piracy has continued to be a key feature of PC gaming, with software often shared through torrent sites.

Windows 10 is being positioned as a key part of Microsoft’s video game business.

In January 2015, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said Windows 10 could be “best operating system [Microsoft has] ever created for gamers on PC.

Among Windows 10’s gaming oriented features is the ability to stream Xbox One games to the PC via the Xbox Gaming application. Additionally, Microsoft’s has announced a number of games for PC including Fable Legends, which supports cross-play with Xbox One, and Halo Wars 2.

  • Scalebound Originally Had Dinosaurs, Not Dragons

Scalebound director Hideki Kamiya has revealed that the idea for the game has been percolating at Platinum Games since the developer’s earliest days. The concept for game–“large-scale” encounters–remained the same over the years, but an earlier version had dinosaurs, not the dragons we know today.

“After I left Capcom and we established Platinum Games, the kernel of the Scalebound idea was actually one of the first concept pitches,” Kamiya told Metro. “The other one was Bayonetta, and we had a few others. For one reason or another we went with Bayonetta first, but at that point it was not even dragons; it was dinosaurs.”

“But the common theme here is that I wanted to realize this game in the way that these two large-scale creatures were going at each other,” he added. “And how can we make this work where you are not just the observer of what’s taking place but helping as well.”

That was the original concept for what would become Scalebound, but Kamiya admitted that “it needed more work.” The game was put back on the shelf as Platinum worked on Bayonetta, after which the studio turned its attention back to the game and made a major creature change.

“So at that time we actually managed to pull together a prototype, and when we decided to make a prototype I switched over the subject matter from dinosaurs to dragons,” he said.

Kamiya and his team put together a new prototype, this one featuring dragons, but the project never got off the ground because Platinum didn’t find a publishing partner.

“So again, it went back into the closet,” he said.

With Scalebound stalled again, Platinum shifted its focus to The Wonderful 101 for Wii U. After that game shipped, Platinum put together a “refined” version of the concept for Scalebound and pitched it to Microsoft.

“Fortunately, they were very interested, and they wanted to know more about it,” Kamiya explained.

Scalebound launches in 2016 exclusively for Xbox One. At Gamescom earlier this month, Platinum confirmed that the game will have four-player co-op.

  • Saintvicious AMA Roundup: "I've taken a step back later in my career but I always try to be honest."

Saintvicious AMA Roundup: "I've taken a step back later in my career but I always try to be honest."

Saintvicious, coach of Team Coast, did a Reddit AMA earlier this week.

When asked about his takeaway from the Navy and esports, Saint replied, “I grew up with 3 sisters and a mom so. The navy kind of gave me that having a bunch of brothers experience and taught me a lot more community type stuff. For esports, though, I think it has a lifetime based on what you put into it as anything does and more players should realize this.”

Always outspoken, Saint explains that he’s “taken a step back later in my career but I always try to be honest.”

When asked about his motivation as a former player, Saint states, “I believe in myself and that’s my motivation. Keane also motivated me a lot I saw his dedication to the game and it inspired me to go even harder.”

But he also admits that he’s taken a liking to being a coach and that he doesn’t “miss the grind” of solo-queue. He explains that “the only longevity you can achieve in esports is through business connections or growing your social media/streaming/youtube. There will never be a time when a player can player for a long period of time unless they are a god.”

Saint admits he “was lucky enough to have Liquid to help push me to do social media more but I was doing it on my own as well before him. Not every player is lucky enough to have good management and staff and I feel for those players. Also it is impossible to go to school while maintaining the level you need to in the LCS.”

On the main reason he decided to become a coach, Saint states, “I didn’t really want to play anymore after last split. My wrist started hurting and I was starting to not enjoy grinding the game as much. I never had a good coach nor saw any in the west so I tried to fill that void.”

Speaking about the growing League of Legends scene, Saint says, “I don’t think anything hinders esports growth. To be honest, it’s blowing up.”

When asked about his favorite figures in the scene, he says, “HotshotGG’s my favorite personality, Montecristo’s my favorite caster, and Dunky is my favorite content creator.”

After losing a Best of 5 against Renegades in the Challenger Series, Saint stated, “I feel like the players weren’t mentally prepared to play a full 5 game series so they checked out by game 5. 5 hour series can be extremely taxing mentally. My job as a coach is to prepare them better for this next time. I don’t believe the series should have made it this far had we played properly in game 4 but alas it did.”

When talking about adapting to the game and the frequent meta-shifts, Saint replies, “Running with the patches is just part of league. Adapt or die.”

  • New Star Wars Episode 7 Poster Revealed

New Star Wars Episode 7 Poster Revealed

Disney today revealed a new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens poster. It was designed by veteran Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter artist Drew Struzan and is quite stunning.

The poster prominently depicts the Episode VII characters Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren, and Han Solo. We can surmise from the poster that Finn, played by John Boyega is a Jedi. But you never know, he may be wielding it for some other reason. After all, we did see him wearing a Stormtrooper outfit in the first trailer.

The Force Awakens opens on December 18.

Today at Disney’s D23 event, the company also shared the first cast photo for Rogue One and announced a director for Star Wars: Episode IX.

Awesome-Looking Star Wars Lands Coming to Disney Parks

Disney CEO Bob Iger appeared on stage today at the D23 Expo to reveal that Star Wars-themed “lands” are coming to Disney’s marquee parks in Anaheim, California and Orlando, Florida.

Iger described Disney’s plans are “ambitious,” saying the Star Wars lands will be the “largest single-themed land expansions ever.” They will be 14 acres each.

The new Star Wars spaces will transport “guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port, and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”

Check out some concept art for the new Disney Park Star Wars lands below.

Each Star Wars land will have two “signature attractions,” one of which will be a an attraction/ride that lets you pilot the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission. The other marquee attraction will be an “epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climatic battle.”
