Lucasfilm Confirms Yet Another 'Indiana Jones' Movie Will Be Made

    Indiana Jones

It’s nothing major, but it is another official confirmation from Lucasfilm. This time the studio has confirmed to Vanity Fair that they definitely are developing another new Indiana Jones movie – it will “one day be made”. Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm, we’ve been hearing rumors and rumblings of another Indiana Jones that might continue where Kingdom of the Crystal Skull left off, or reboot the series altogether. Over the years we’ve heard names like Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt mentioned as potential replacements, but again nothing is confirmed yet. In fact, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy went so far as to say that they haven’t even started working on a script yet. Too early for anything to actually come together, only ideas for now. ›››

  • Louis C.K. Set to Write, Direct & Star in New Indie Film 'I'm a Cop'

Louis C.K. Set to Write, Direct & Star in New Indie Film 'I'm a Cop'

    Louis C.K.

More Louis please! Ask and you shall receive. It looks like comedian/filmmaker Louis C.K. is headed back to feature filmmaking, with THR reporting that he’s ready to write, direct and star in a new independent film titled I’m a Cop. Aside from Louis C.K. being involved, Scott Rudin (of Captain Phillips, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Rosewater, While We’re Young, Top Five recently) is producing, which means this project has plenty of weight behind it. I’m a huge fan of Louis and I’ve been waiting to write about him again, as he once directed a few features, including Pootie Tang, before focusing on his comedy work and eventually his Emmy-winning show “Louie”. So what is his new script about (besides a cop of some kind)? Let’s find out. ›››

Watch: Schwarzenegger Recaps His Entire Filmography on Late Night TV

    Arnold Schwarzenegger

He’s back! Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is back into acting, appearing in the zombie flick Maggie in theaters this summer, as well as Terminator Gensisys. He’s out promoting and recently stopped by “The Late Late Show With James Corden”, where he acted out pretty much every film he’s been in. As one of those kids who grew up watching Schwarzenegger movies all day, whether it be True Lies or Terminator or Predator or Kindergarten Cop or whatever, it’s quite amusing to see him relive his past and have fun while at it. It’s just a fun six minute comedy sketch where Corden and Schwarzenegger act out his entire filmography, and it should make you smile and laugh to watch. Plus he talks about which one is his favorite. ›››

  • Will Poulter to Play Pennywise in Cary Fukunaga's New 'It' Movies

Will Poulter to Play Pennywise in Cary Fukunaga's New 'It' Movies

    Will Poulter / Pennywise

Watch out Tim Curry. Over at Variety they’re reporting that Cary Fukunaga (of Sin Nombre, Jane Eyre, Beasts of No Nation, “True Detective”) has cast the lead in his new It feature, which will be split into two movies. Sources have told them that young actor Will Poulter, currently 22 years old, is “in negotiations” to play Pennywise the evil clown. Poulter last appeared in The Maze Runner as Gally, along with A Plea for Grimsby, Glassland, We’re the Millers and Son of Rambow. He’s also in the upcoming The Revenant, which we’ll all be watching this December. Apparently the audition won over Fukunaga and they couldn’t say no. ›››

It's Official – Lionsgate is Making 'John Wick 2' with Keanu Reeves

    John Wick

Woot! Lionsgate has officially announced development on John Wick 2 via a press release sent to press on May 4th. The release contains very basic information, but confirms that everyone is back: Keanu Reeves as John Wick, along with directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski as well as screenwriter Derek Kolstad all returning. The film is being sold at the Cannes Market coming up this month, which is why the news has arrived as a confirmation like this. No information about release timing is included in the press release, but it sounds like it might go quick if things go well in Cannes. As a huge fan of John Wick from last year (it was in my Top 10!) there’s something particularly exciting about knowing more Wick is on the way. ›››

First Look: Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma from 'Star Wars'

    Star Wars

It’s a Chrometrooper! One of the many new characters we’ll be meeting in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens is this bad guy (she’s part of the “First Order” not the “Empire” anymore) nicknamed the “Chromtrooper”, played by Gwendoline Christie (of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, “Game of Thrones”), who wears a chrome stormtrooper outfit and carries a big gun. The caption from the reveal at Vanity Fair (as part of the Annie Leibovitz photo spread) only states: “First Order officer Captain Phasma surveys the rubble following an attack.” Sleek. I wish we could see her without the mask! Very interesting. ›››

  • More Mayhem in Third Trailer for 'San Andreas' with Dwayne Johnson

More Mayhem in Third Trailer for 'San Andreas' with Dwayne Johnson

    San Andreas Trailer

“This whole chunk of land will be decimated…!” Warner Bros has debuted a third trailer for San Andreas, the big earthquake movie starring Dwayne Johnson they’ve been building up for a summer release. We’ve already seen two good trailers for this already, teasing some of the epic destruction and mayhem including a huge tsunami wave and pretty much all of Los Angeles collapsing upon itself. This definitely does look like a Roland Emmerich movie (even a spiritual sequel to 2012) but without some of the Emmerich quirks, for better or worse. Honestly, I’m curious to see this, something about the emotional angle that gets me. Enjoy! ›››

  • Goat Simulator Getting Zombie-Themed Update This Week

Goat Simulator Getting Zombie-Themed Update This Week

Coffee Stain Studios has announced new downloadable content for its wacky action game Goat Simulator themed around zombies. Called “GoatZ,” the $5 DLC is due to launch May 7 on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.

It wasn’t mentioned if the content would be released for the Xbox versions of Goat Simulator.

In a press release announcing GoatZ, Coffee Stain said it was previously planning for the Goat Simulator MMO expansion to be the game’s last add-on. However, the studio received an “avalanche” of requests for more DLC. “So, with that said, here you. Zombies,” Coffee Stain explained.

Coffee Stain has enlisted the help of Gone North Games to develop the GoatZ expansion. That studio worked on PC game A Story About My Uncle, which Coffee Stain published.

The name GoatZ bears a resemblance to another zombie game, Dean Hall’s DayZ, while the overall tone seems similar to Garry Newman’s survival-themed Rust. With that in mind, Coffee Stain said today, “Garry and Dean, please don’t sue us. Be cool.”

For more on GoatZ, check out a list of features below, courtesy of Coffee Stain. You can also find some haunting images in the gallery at the bottom of this post.

    • Mandatory crafting system because everyone else is doing it
    • Zombies that bug out. There’s a pun here about actual living bugs, but we’re not going to bother
    • You can craft anything in the world, as long as it’s one of the half dozen weapons in the game
    • Zombies, because this is a zombie game, remember?
    • A pretty big new map with some stuff in it
    • Completely realistic survival mode where you have to eat every damn five minutes to survive because Dean Hall & Garry Newman said so
    • Tons of unlockable new goats with special powers (wow, never thought I’d ever write that sentence a couple of years ago. Also hi mom)

  • Mortal Kombat X Getting New Patches to Improve Online Play, PC Version

During a livestream event this week, Mortal Kombat X developer NetherRealm Studios announced that it is currently developing new patches for the fighting game that should improve online play and spruce up the PC edition, among other things.

As reported by Polygon, series co-creator Ed Boon said NetherRealm is far from happy regarding Mortal Kombat X’s current netcode. It has improved since release, but needs to get better, he stressed.

“We are constantly working on the online, [that] back and forth,” Boon explained. “We’ve taken steps to improve on it. It’s certainly better than where we were at launch, but by no means do we feel like we’re at where we want or need to be.”

Boon went on to say that NetherRealm will soon update Mortal Kombat X to include a new feature that lets players leave an online match if both parties don’t have a solid connection. Players will even be able to determine a “connection threshold” to make better matches, the report states.

Other Mortal Kombat X changes mentioned during the livestream included updates for the PlayStation 4 and PC versions. For the PS4 edition, NetherRealm is preparing an update–due to launch any day now–aimed at “dramatically” speeding up the time it takes to download living towers.

The PC version of Mortal Kombat X, meanwhile, will see “huge improvements” through a soon-to-be-released patch. This update “literally brings the PC version to parity with the console versions,” Boon said. Mortal Kombat X for PC was developed externally by High Voltage Software.

In addition, NetherRealm has confirmed that the Android version of Mortal Kombat X should launch today, May 5. This has indeed happened, as you can download Mortal Kombat X right now from Google Play. The iOS version was released last month.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and mobile. The last-generation versions have been delayed and are now due out sometime this summer.

In other Mortal Kombat X news, Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees is now available as a playable character.
