There’s been an explosion on enthusiast forums over the festive period, as potential PlayStation 5 specifications have leaked. The source seems to stem from GitHub, where an AMD employee stored internal testing data from a variety of in-progress projects. These have since been confirmed as accurate by Digital Foundry, though could be outdated.
So, what do they reveal? Well, allegedly the next-gen device will sport a CPU featuring eight Zen 2 Cores and a GPU boasting 36 custom Navi compute units at 2,000MHz. It’ll also feature GDDR6 memory clocked at double the speed of the PS4 Pro. According to calculations, this pits the machine at 9.2 teraflops.
