Lunchboxes offering buffs for Atoms?
It’s fair to say the launch of Fallout 76 hasn’t gone as smoothly as Bethesda would’ve wanted. Filled to bursting with technical issues and sporting an uninteresting world, it’s a pretty unfortunate start for the online multiplayer take on the publisher’s iconic RPG series. Unfortunately, it feels like things are going to get worse before they get better. A new bunch of Christmas themed items are now available to purchase from the in-game store, and fans aren’t best pleased.
The cosmetic items, which include Mr and Mrs Claus outfits, a giant Red Rocket sign, and more, are being called out for their price in Atoms, the game’s premium currency. The ‘Comin to Town’ bundle includes the aforementioned outfits along with two avatars and a radstag decoration, and it’s going for 2000 Atoms, which equates to about £16. That Red Rocket sign is roughly £14, and a pack of Christmassy emotes will set you back about £8. Again, these are simple cosmetic items, but many fans feel like these prices are a step too far from Bethesda.
