Xbox boss Phil Spencer is keeping busy on Twitter. After answering questions about Project Scorpio and backwards compatibility, he’s now weighed in on more topics like competing games and the health of the Xbox One.
“Good games shipping are positive for industry,” Spencer said to a fan.

Games like Forza Horizon 3, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Civilization VI, and Overwatch, among others, “all make gaming better.” He also mentioned Horizon: Zero Dawn, which is receiving a lot of praise ahead of its release next week on PlayStation 4. Spencer added that gamers–no matter what platform they’re playing on–should “celebrate” these titles and others.
On the subject of the health of the Xbox One ecosystem, Spencer said, “Xbox is having a good [generation],” adding that it’s been the best yet. He added that the Xbox One S has been “strong” since it came out in August 2016. “Can always improve but proud of where we are,” he said.
It’s no secret that the Xbox One struggled out of the gate in November 2013, with the rival PS4 becoming the No. 1 home console in terms of sales. Microsoft installed new Xbox leadership in 2015 and released the Xbox One S in August of 2016. The console outsold the PS4 in the second half of 2016. The first win of 2017 went to Sony, as the PS4 outsold the Xbox One in the US in January.
The next Xbox system, Project Scorpio, comes out in holiday 2017. It’s described by Microsoft as the most powerful console ever made, and we’ll learn more about it at E3 2017 if not sooner.
