Destiny will not be among the games to receive a patch for the PlayStation 4 Pro version when the console launches in November, though it hasn’t been ruled out for the future.
In an interview with GameSpot, executive producer Scott Taylor laid out Bungie’s plans. The developer is “looking at” support for the PS4 Pro, but fans may want to get comfortable.

Here is the exchange from our interview:
GameSpot: “Are you planning on any support for PS4 Pro?”
Scott Taylor: “No.”
GameSpot: “No? With Rise of Iron?”
Scott Taylor: “Yeah. Not for Rise of Iron. Maybe as far as the future. We have nothing to announce today, but I mean we’ll be looking at [that].”

Though it sounds like Destiny will not receive a PS4 Pro patch right away, other Activision games will. As announced during the PlayStation Meeting last week, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III are all being patched to make use of the console’s extra horsepower. It remains to be seen what the specific benefits will be, however.
You can see all the PS4 games getting PS4 Pro upgrades in this roundup.
The PS4 Pro launches on November 10, priced at $400. The console has double the GPU power of the existing model and technology adapted from AMD Polaris graphical architecture. These allow the PS4 Pro to reach resolutions “not thought possible on consoles” in 2016, according to lead system architect Mark Cerny.
On the more immediate horizon is the launch for the PS4 slim, which comes out tomorrow, September 15, priced at $300.
As for Destiny, the game’s fourth expansion, Rise of Iron, lands on September 20. The expansion’s launch trailer will debut later today, but you can watch a teaser for it right now.
