Nintendo 2DS Price Drop Coming Soon

Nintendo has announced a price cut for its entry-level gaming system, the Nintendo 2DS. Effective August 30, the system will sell for $100, down from its current price of $130.

Racing game Mario Kart 7 is bundled with 2DS systems, and that’s not changing despite the price drop. Bundles will still come with a free digital copy of the 2011 racing game, Nintendo confirmed.

“The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan,” Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffitt said in a statement.
