STAR OCEAN The Second Story is an expasive RPG developed by Enix makers of the
legendary Dragon Quest series (known as Dragon Warrior in North America).  As the
pioneers of the RPG category, Enix is sure to deliver another masterpiece given the
impressive and unrivaled level of detail found in STAR OCEAN The Second Story.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Innovative polygonal real-time combat system:  three combat modes to suit any player's experience level;
create custom combo moves; a zooming camera captures battles at stunning angles.
Enormous game depth is added through a host of mini-events called, "Private Actions."  Encounter these
smaller events as they have an actual affect on the main story line and can ultimately change the ending
to the game.
Discover the detail involved in this game where players acquire a "Skill System" so they can create items
from raw materials.  Acquire the skills to create items by cooking, alchemy, metalwork, compounding and
more.
A "Double Hero" system allows gamers to choose to play as the male protagonist or the female lead.
One of the largest gaming worlds in RPGs that provides over 80 possible endings
Characters have an "Emotional Level" that actually emulates life where characters have to think and feel
for themselves.  For example, a close friend's death in battle may instigate rage and therefore more
furious combative counter moves
Dazzling computer graphic sequences dramatically tie the story line together.
Boasts an easy to use inventory system with over 800 items!
Exclusive to the Playstation game console - the only system for RPGs

Well, a few things about this sweet game. First, the real-time gameplay is an awesome addition to the normal
RPG format. I was getting tired of turn-based stuff. Second, I believe the programmers were smart for making
the normal enemies tough before boss battles in the area you're searching. They pep you up and get you ready
for how tough the boss may be, and it gives you an idea of what level you need to be. However, a few things that
aren't so cool. This may seem stupid, but the characters in the game's graphics don't look anything like the
manual art. Second, I hate the wise-men. Decus and Vesper were just annoying. Jibril, Nicolus, and Ruprecht
were just, blah. And Marsilio, Shigeo, and Berle were jokes. Challenge flies over your head and crash lands into
a wall with their intelligence. But I look forward to Cyril and Indalecio. I'm around level 110, and yet the game still
isn't boring. Well, I'll complain no more, I should praise Star Ocean instead. I could ramble on and on, but I won't.
All I'll say is that anybody who doesn't like this game belongs in an asylum. Buh bye. Oh! Once I think of an
e-mail address, I'll post it.

Alright, i loved the game, the graphics are awesome, i love the sounds, and the gameplay is great! I'm still working
on beating Indalecio with the limiter off, so i'm sorta stuck, and after you get the Silver Trumpet from Gabrie Celeste,
says you can use it to call her "evil" side, but after i composed the tune "the evil melody" and played it, she wouldn't
appear. does anyone know what i do? oh, and I was on level 230 w/ Claude, and around 150 with Precis, Rena, and
Noel. I used Dragon Howl and had precis and noel attack themselves. anywayz...i still don't have the eternal sphere,
i just figured out how to do it. if you have any question about the game, email me, and i'll get back as soon as i can!

In the Inteligence... thing, I don't remember, anyway, the boss is really evil and can kill you with one hit with the stupid
laser. Kill the arm first by becoming Bowman and standing under it, and using Pillory until the arm dies. Then you won't
have to worry about the laser and you can leisurely kill off whatever the other enemies are called. :)

I give this game a perfect score. I really love this game and now know lots about it. If you have any questions i would try
to answer. If you wanna just email back and forth talking about this great game then feel free. The first time through the
game i had only Claude, Rena, Precis, Leon, Noel, and Celine. I beat it with about level 100 guys. I used Claude, Rena,
Precis, and Celine and beat the last boss. IT was pretty hard. It took me a couple times to finally win. I think the cave
of trials is actually pretty easy. I expected much harder. Right now im just training my guys (in my new game i started)
using the 2 people time in the cave. I have about 2 more levels and i win the trials! My Rena is like at level 230! Well Id
love to keep talkin about the game but i dont wanna bore you. Bye

I must say this has to be my Favourite all time game (Next to Zelda: Ocarina for 64)
When I first played this game I LOVED it and I thought I was doing pretty well for a
while when I got stuck (as claud, lost Rena in the Forest at Mars) so I stoped playing.
After a LONG time (like a year almost) when I was bored over at my friends house and I desided
to pick up the controller. I started a new game and now Im about to start leons quest (my guys
are at like lv. 40 w/ a team of 6). I rate this game a 9.9/10 for everything except
The irealism of food creation, identify, etc. and game features such as sizing. I love this
game and advise everyone who has playstation and/or loves RPGS to buy this game. Its long, fun
and challenging. It has a good plot, great cutsceens, and multiple endings for infinant replay
value. I'm already considering bbuying a playstation, I dont even own it and play it much and I love it.
INCREADIBLE GAME, and it even bases some parts of it on relationships and occurances...
But can someone tell me 1 thing? When does the second CD kick in???!!! my friend is on the island
where you end up getting stranded, and thats 4 out of 5 islands! Well gotta go,
enjoyed the chat. My favourite character I've met so far is Ashton. After all I havent played
this game in a while! Well BubYEe! GET IT NOW!

This game is cool. one of the better RPG's I've ever played. I've beaten it several times, and I've gone through the cave of trials
pretty much the same amount of times. but I still don't understand some things. what is the purpose of the pictures, fanzines,
the aphrodisiac, the energy drink (I've tried to use it and I don't know how it works), and the evening dress. what are those
things there for?! I mean u can't use the fanzines for anything (at least as far as I know) the pictures are pointless. and the
aphrodisiac and the energy and stuff doesn't work for me! I'm clueless! so if anyone knows PLEASE fill me in.

that the voices get annoying after hearing them constantly in battles for almost 6 hrs. other than that i think that it is one of the best
rpgs i have ever played, and i think that it is definetly worth the time and $$$ required for the game. i think every RPGer that wants
a challenge b4 ff9 and PEII should consider buying it. i give it a 10/10 easily. i alos have some game tips and one game shark code

I would just like to show that there is one more fan out there who thinks this game is the best. What puzzles me is that so many
of you ask simple questions like how to find Opera and Ernest. If you really need them then go to a site that has that but if not then
do as I did and just look around and pay attateion. It took my ages to find Ernest but it payed pff it the long run. So just try and do

so i use Fairy Glass on her to make all the spells free to cast. Claude and Ashton are fighing the boss, while Celine is casting her
spells on it. Rena, of course, is doing nothing, and whenever i asing her to do something, she doesn't. So the boss quickly kills
Ashton with her regular attack, WHICH DOES 500 PINTS OF DAMAGE!!!!!!! oh, by the way, my guys are leval 20.THE BOSS IS

This was an awesome game. The game play was fantastic and the game itself has replay value. The Skill system as well as
the proficiency with moves gave the game much more depth in game play than others. The party numbers and the battle system
is a great deal like Tales of Destiny which is also a great game. The only major flaw of Star Ocean however would have to be the
horrible voice talents (Anyone who has any appreciation for the original Japanese voices should know that. The voices were one
of my favorite parts of Tales of Destiny). But after a few battles and learning a few skills you begin to overlook that. Over all it's a
great game that I highly recommend to anyone who likes RPGs.

We have only just received this game here in the (UK), no Chrono Cross or Legend of Mana for us Brits :( , and i have to say
this game is superb, much better than FF V11.
Having a choice of two main characters to play the game as adds to the replay value, while not having subsequent allies forced
on your party makes a refreshing change. The graphics in general are excellent, the reflections as you pass a mirror or a river
and the kaleidoscopic, dynamic in-battle spell effects are just two outstanding examples. There's too much yadda-yadda for me
personally as i prefer to tool up and kick an enemy's ass rather than talk about the weather.
Ratings wise i would have to give this game a solid 8/10, definately one of the better rpg experiences.
P.S Although i have completed the game, i did'nt unlock the extra modes of play so if anyone can E-mail me with tips on how to
boost my voice collection i would be very grateful, thanks.
P.P.S No matter how many times i play the Evil Melody she won't come out to play!, any ideas??, and yes i am on a battlefield,
help please!!

STAR OCEAN: THE SECOND STORY IS TRULY AN AWESOME RPG. It IS JUST ABout the most customizable RPG
out there. First of all, you can choose to start the game as either Claud Kenni, the son of one of earths best rocketship
captains, or Rena, a magic user from arlia. Also by earning skill points you can level up abilities and then: forge wepons,
cook your own food, or even pickpocket average people! This game is truly a masterpeice and although i havent beaten it,
i recommend everyone who owns a Playstation to buy it in the near future.

This is one of the best RPG's i have ever played and deffinitly hard to beat! as for that i have a few questions.

I have tried adamantly to beat Dias the first time in the Arena. He tears me up every time! I even kicked everyone out of
my part of my team or killed them purposly to gain him to around lvl 60! I still died, is he tough or what?! I think its rigged.
Does anyone know how to find Ashton, hes the only one i am missing.
I need help finding the Eternal Sphere, claudes best weapon. I also cant find any decent armor for Claude, Dias, Rena,
and Celene, to keep them out of trouble, if you have any ideas, please tell me how to get the armor and weapons.

The best armor and things that i have heard of for claude is the Eternal Sphere as a weapon, the duel armor, the bunnyshoes,
the atlas ring, and Paras Atene, but i dont know how to get any of these except the atlas ring.
if you can help please try.

You can beat Inandelico without him even using that damn "Time of Truth" attack. You must have Claude's speed very
very high, and his Mirror Slice Lv.2
Now go after Inandelico and DON'T STOP MIRROR SLICING! Sure, you may not do any damage when he begins the
Time of Truth, but you'll knock him out of it if you keep hitting him. Hope this helps some of you!

I thought the game swas one of the best I have ever played!  There is just one thing that I would like to know.  When you beat the
game they tell you at the end that there will be ANOTHER STAROCEAN at the very end.  If you have any information on this
Please e-mail me.

I'm not sure what the percentage is, but if you get enough voices you can listen to the music tracks in "Voice Collection"

-Easy Voice Collecting,  Use books to up friendship and romantic levels among characters.  Each character has wails for when
their friends get hurt and say thank you for saving each other.
Also don't forget about the Provocation skill, three each, and swallow your pride and escape from battles for more voices (2 or 3 each).
And finally, don't be afraid to let your characters get their but kicked a few times.  If you're on Earth difficulty, you might not find really
hard battles till the cave of trials, but you can control characters and just let them take a beating (like a red headed step child).

Alright, if you are an avid fan of RPGs, I got a quote for ya'.
"Two words - BUY IT!!" Anyways...this game is beautiful in every way, the graphics are awesome, the controls are easy, the enemies
are extremely challenging, and the music in the game is phenominal!! This is where the game really stands out. Though it was all
done on computer, it still manages to keep an orchestral feel to it. Mr. Motoi Sakuraba should be extremely proud of himself for
composing a magnificent soundtrack for a beautiful game. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this game a 10 for graphics, challenge, and
control, and an 11 of course for the soundtrack!! The only thing I have to say is that this game is an absolute must have for RPGers
who love to fiddle with their games, like me!!

This game is the best game ever!!! I never knew there could be an open-rpg game like this. This game has so many diff. characters to
pick from. ( i picked Claude, Rena, Opera, sometimes Dias and sometimes Celine cuz she knows Meteor Swarm which does MAJOR
damage. Dias is alright though.) I personally like Opera cuz she can do Spread Ray and Alpha on one which can do multiple hits. Ten
WIse Men Don't stand a chance. I leveled up sp high it took 5 min to beat Indalecio evn when he's stronger with the Filia PA. If anyone

Star Ocean is the best game that ever came out. I know a lot about the game I have beaten it so many times but each time it gets better
and better. The best guy on the game is either Ashton or Ernest. I have most of the voices. I don't mean to brag but I have beaten the
game many times in universe mode it is easy to me. I also can beat the end guy in the hidden dungen. To me the game is fun but easy.
If there is any questitions just ask. Later

P.S. I have only had the game for a couple of months and I have gotten no help from anyone

Did you know that you can get a sound test for all the music in the game? i didn't until it just popped up one day. if you have around 960
voice clips or so, this option will appear from the voice collection. also for all of you who say Gabriel(Indalecio in th USA version) is so hard,
it isn't really, you just have to be at level 115. what is really hard is Gabrie Celesta in the cave of trials (toughest boss in the game). if
someone knows a strategy to beat her could they post it on this message board? and what level should i be at? anyways if you need help
ask me, i've beaten the game 3 times and the cave of trials almost once.

STAR OCEAN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its the best game in the whole world!!!!!
the cool things about it are that the boss of the game is WHOA! very hard! other than that you cant fight a limited version of him in a tournment!
theres lots of secret characters too!(if anyone knows how to get Opera,Pricis,Ernest or Dias please email me, and i already know you CANT
get Dias in Claudes game!)

P.S.

I give this game a 10/10 IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here are some screts I figured out or have seen posted else where:

How to get the Iternal Spehere:

To get the Iternal Spehere you must goto the old man who is a blacksmith in lacour RIGHT after the tournament of Lacour (the one house where
the girl would not let you in before) then buy a sharp edge from him combine it with a pice of mithrill then you will get the minus sword combine
it with another mithrill and you will get the............Iternal Spehere!!!!!!!!!!
(It helps to have the orghestra playing while ya do this)

Fight Limited boss of the game:

To fight this hard enemy you must either get to battle 50 in the 50 battle tournament in Nede or u must fight him in that one cave in Nede that
you fight the big Crstal boss in (before you kill the boss but he is still VERY rare and VERY hard)

Boss of the games race:

I figured this oput on my owm.....

If you look closely at the boss of the game and you will see Cat ears on him (like leons) and he also carriers a book too.........is he also a
Fellpool????

Star Ocean is a great game! The battle system is awesome...I've never seen anything even compare to it! I'm currently having some trouble
with the Cave of RTTrials...I can't figure out what the heck to do with the statues on the 2nd level. I'm just confused about that. And I love
finally getting stuck ina dungeon like this.I'll definitely give this game 10/10!Great graphics, actually has characters personality, it's all
good! Over 80 possible endings adds to it's already made greatness. Thank God for Star Ocean! Hey....I've leveled up like frick...I just
can't find my way through the 2nd level in the Cave of Trials...Can someone help me out, here?
Anyway, about the game, it's ultimate. I love a challenge.80 endings just adds to the fun. Not to mention finally being able to get past
level 99 on a game! It's great, I'd give it 10/10

This game i awsome. I've beaten the game only once but have gotten to Indaleco Celesta in a little over 5 hours and almost won my
first time through. I got the Eternal Sphere on the first disc and got the Battle Suit from the guy on the Calnus. The first time through
Survival Battle I beat Hell-Servant and got Fortune. Oh and the trick for the Santa Boots is cool but I have a better one. Just use a
Cinderella Glass, a Second Ledger, and use Identify All "Give a discount". This will reduce the price of the Santa Boots to about 4.5
million fol instead of 10 million.

I loved this game! I am an avid player and keeper of the Final Fantasy series.
I love the series but it possessed a certain incapability that Star Ocean has
provided. Simply put, I was able to play the game (and beat it!) with only the
two main characters. No other RPG has offered the option of taking or leaving a
playable character before. Star Ocean has done it and I am exstatic! It was
tough at some parts but I pulled through okay. I did the Cave Of Trials but only
got to the 6th level. (those funny thieves running around at the speed of light
was overwhelming) It might have been okay if I had a couple pair of bunny shoes
or any other item to increase combat speed. oh well. I still was able to make
it to the and through the wise men. I recommend this to anyone who has played
to give it a try. I believe that everyone should try it out to see for yourselves.

and a LOT more stuff!! if somebody wants my advice, my e-mail is up there. my team is: Claude, Ashton (which i have the final attack:
Tri-Ace) Precis and Rena. Claude's best killer move is Ripper Blast at level 3: it KICK ASS!!!!! if you want the eternal sphere, just

This game was soooo awesome,i loved it!! Right now im at level 131 with Rena and Claude. If you even want to stand a chance against
the final boss you HAVE to be over level 103 and your HP should be maxed at 9999.I was at level 109 with Claude and Rena and 106
with Ashton and 103 with Dias. You just have to keep attacking him constantly so he doesnt cast any spells. Then use Rena to caste
Haste and Growth and Angel Feather and Protection on each of them (Healing when nesecary) and caste Delay on Indelecio. You
should have 20 Angel Statues cuz they are a huge help if you need to heal really fast.So all that talk about the Ten Wisemen being
impossible to beat isnt true. Also dont even bother to learn pickpocket if Rena is your main character,no matter how skilled she is she
will never be able to pickpocket until she is over like 98,and even then its real lucky if you ever steal from someone.Well,im off to the
secret dungeon again,im on the 7th floor, the level99 funnytheives are so fast and hit for 2000 hp ech, hard, but worth the experience.
This is the 5th rpg game i've played, the fighting style is so awesome and uniquei just love being able to actually control the characters
in battle. My fav characters are Ashton and Celine, and Rena, and Claude too,and Dias,Precis and Noel are cool,so is Chisato, lol,ok,
bye! Now i have to get Opera and Bowman and Ernest when i play again, whoopie!

THIS GAME IS THE BEST I'VE PLAY SO FAR. I'M AT LV.185 RIGHT NOW AND STILL LOSING TO SOME MONSTER IN THE CAVE
OF TRAIL. I HAVEN'T PLAY FOR A MONTH NOW BECAUSE I CAN'T SEEM TO BE THAT DUMB-ASS pheonix DOWN IN LEVEL 12.
THAT ASSHOLE HIT ME WITH 6000+ DAMAGE WILL THAT FLYING THINGY AND I COULD ONLY USE ONE SUPPORT CHARACTER.
HAS ANYONE DEFEATED pheonix? FOR PEOPLE WHO SAY IT'S AN EASY GAME, YOU HAVEN'T FOUGHT THE REAL 'indalecio'.
IF YOU'VE SEEN THE 'PA' IN 'the port of clik' BEFORE THE TIDAL WAVE GO TO 'central city' AND TALK TO filia. SHE'LL DIE AND
BOOST indalecio POWER TO THE EXTREME. HE'S FUCKIN FAST SO NONE OF YOUR GOOD KILLER MOVES WORKS. YOU CAN
ONLY HIT HIM WITH MAGIC BE IT DOESN'T DO MUCH AND IT ONLY HIT ONCE THEN YOU HAVE TO CHARGE FOR 2 SEC. EVEN IF
YOU HAVE THOSE VILIANT BOOTS TO BOOST UP YOUR SPEED, HE'LL STILL BE FASTER AND HE CAN KICK YOUR ASS WITH A
BUNCH OF MAGIC COMBOS LIKE EARTHQUAKE, EARTHQUAKE, DRAIN YOUR BLOOD/MAGIC, EARTHQUAKE AGAIN, DIVINE
WAVE, NOAH, AND MORE. HE JUST CAN'T BE STOP!

don't work any more. Also, I'm trying to get all my characters leveled to 100 so I can fight the ten wise men.) First, How do I get Claude
past the first bird? And second, how do I get anyone past the second one? (By the way, I have the Highest, Best weapons for everyone.
Third, who is stronger in super-high levels: Chisato or Opera
bye
P.S. to guy who can't find Ernest: come back tomorrow or the next day and I'll tell you how. (I've got to find my cheat sheet.

Great story line awesome speed and battle effects. Great spell system.
The idea of item creation skills and super speciality skills is a tremendous
step forward in highly interactive rpgs. On my Game rating scale

Ok i have decided to review this game again, and now i give it my highest rating for all rpg's -10/10. i know that some rpg players wouldn't
consider this the best game theyve ever played but if you think of all the new functions and things you can do , this game will stay a fresh
game for years. this i give credit that is due. the game is the best rpg since tales of destiny.

Well pretty much everything that people said on this list is old, but i read a couple of them and some people say that they are stuck and
stuff like that, well they must not be used to RPG's IF they were they would know that its better to train alot, then go on through the story
and plot of the game, cause just going strait through it gives you very little level ups, and when you hit the 10 wise men your screwed,
and the last boss is WWAAYYY harder then all of them, but still beatable if you train alot, i beat every boss in 1 try except 1 and that
was the last boss, it took me about 5 times to beat him, the others i beat easily cause i trained at spots that were hard to beat untill they
were nothin to me, then i would move on its good tactics to use trust me, start a new game and use my tactics and tell me that it didn't
make it easier cause if you do say that you would be lying cause you hate being wrong, i don't play it anymore but im thinking about
renting it again, im not sure, i havn't played it for a LONG time, the last time i played it was when i first rented it "when it first came out"
and that was quit a while ago, but i can try to help you out with using certain kinds of tactics in battles and stuff, just e-mail me with
details of what you are stuck on, i have never "not" been able to beat a RPG game, they are easy but very good, and since i can beat
them fast with the tactics i use i can go rent the game, beat it, and take it back for only 5$ instead of going to a store and paying 60$
for it and beat it and not be able to take it back, well thats all i have to say.

Even though i only borrowed the game from my friend i think the game is pretty awesome game. I like the battle system because its
different then other RPG games but if u really want 2 realy awesome RPG games then try Final Fantasy 7
or Final Fantasy 8. They're not connected so it don't matter which one u try. They are both awesome games but if your the kind of person
who likes an awesome game with awesome graphics get Final Fantasy 8

I just got SO2 for christmas. (It's Jan 5th now) I'm already 20 something hours into it. I happen to be a person
who loves alot of items. 800 of them? Sweeeet. I'm actuallly stuck right now. I'm in a dungeon looking for a metal or something
and Leon needs to get it. Two big bosses attack us, and they have ALOT of HP. My guys are strong as hell, but it doesn't matter
This game is hard sometimes, but the skills and the item creation system amazed me.
FINAL FANTASY 8 SUCKS!!!!!!!!
STAR OCEAN RULES!!!!!

I love the way the characters have a certain relationship with each other, based on what the private actions turn out 2 be. The choice
of the characters are so mind boggling - Chisato, or Noel? Opera or Ashton? Dias or Leon? To begin as Claude, or Rena? Well, whatever
u choose, the choice will effect what the ending will be.
I think the game is one of the best selections I had ever made. Everyone should own this game. I think the makers of the game had
gone 2 the top 2 think this one out. Can't wait 4 what they think up next!!!!

orichalcum's. i have used blacksmith( before the linga sanctuary ) and i have gotten barrier armor, and core armor, as well as bloody
helmet, and chaos mail. if anyone wants to know how, e mail me. forget that... i ll tell you now. i went to the mountain place, right next to
cross and saved. after that i went in to the mountain and fought once. i would normally win unless it was the wolf people or knights.( other
than that are the flying thingies and heraldic women, globe thingies that take mp or those bird guys) i would win once leave save then come
back for round two. repeat a gajillion times and i was at level 34 before the lacour tournament. try it. you wont be disapointed.  oh ya it

This is an AWESOME game. No question of that. But unfortunatly it has a few
noticable flawes. Most aren't to bad but the big ones are near the end. If
anyone reading this has gotten to the last 4 wise men you will know what im talking about. IMPOSSIBLE. After playing for almost 40
hours non-stop having a reasonable amount of difficulty i expected a really hard fight that would take me two or three tries. NOPE. After
more tries than I can count ive never lasted more than 4 or 5 minuts. (on the 7th and 8th wisemen.) One of them right off will cast 'Spicuel',
a fire spell that will usually kill Rena and Celine immediatly. You can revive them but it doesnt help much. The enemies will kill them again
b4 they can be healed. The second guy drains your MP like you wouldnt belive. Up to 700 points at a time.I heard somewhere that you had
to be at least level 220 ( IS THAT POSSIBLE??) All rpg fans know just wandering aroung gaining levels really sucks and takes away from
the game. My party is level 83 and i dont stand a chance. I was going to go back to do it over to see if i missed something that would of
helped me but it turns incre!
dibly boring the second time thr
u. VERY boring. Thats the biggest flaw. The other ones are minor, just that if youve played FF3 FF7 or Secret of Mana you will see lots of
rip offs in the game. Well i dont mean to bash this great game but... its going to be impossible to get one ending, let alone 83. Ahhh.
Wonding what the endings are like and not getting them is going to kill me.

Star Ocean doesn't sound like a cool game, now does it. Kinda sounds wimpy and
childish. Well thankfully it's name doesn't represent the "coolness" of the game.
I started playing this awhile ago and have yet to find a major problem with it.

Now contrary to the opinion of others, I kinda liked the music. Especially that
music in Lacour, you know the dark and moody. Definitely awesome. The in battle
voices are well appreciated and welcome.

The graphics take awhile to get used to if your a polygon-addict (like myself),
but get down right majestic in the right situations. Again great graphics.

But all this stuff isn't worth a cheap bottle of beer if there isn't any
nonconformity. Well thank that guy high in the sky, because baby we're loaded
with ingenuity. First we got specialties. Huh...What, I don't get it.
Well don't get your panites in a twist and I'll tell you all about it. As you get
experience points you obtain skill points. These skill points can be used to
increase your skills in paticular places.  Then we got the 80+ endings, oh baby
tell the wife to rehire the pool boy, cause I'm not getting out of this chair.

Then, my friends, there's the overall feel of the game. I actully cared about
Claude and the others. Well maybe not Rena but I liked the others.

So I give it a 34123/34130.
oh I'm kidding 9/10
P.S.Yes this is the same wetrex on battle.net. So what I have no origiality.

I must say, I haven't had this game for very long, and I haven't had that much time to play it, but from what I have seen from the
game, it easily compares with my two favorite games, ever (Xenogears, and Final Fantasy VII).  If you haven't tried this game, and
you're one of those people that rent games before you buy them (unlike me, psst: beyond the Beyond SCUKED) go rent it right
now! Or if you like to buy them first (like me, psst: Wild Arms and Brave Fencer Musashi were also great games) go buy it before
the store nearest you runs out. And I garuntee you, if there wasn't so much hype for games like Final Fantasy VIII, the anthology,
and Lunar (myself included), this game would be sold out.  All in all this game kicks some serious @$$!

it`s still like most RPG`s at this time... not that im complaining ohh maybe i am some thing NEW whould be nice... the skill

NOW FOR SOME MINOR BAD THINGS:
* i must say the game isn`t as hard as people say...
i completed the game with lv 80 on my heroes and you could rise mutch higher

* U can cheat your way 2 level 100 buy copying medallions and only needing 1 exp 2gain lv each time this stinks...big time

extremely good.  The sound...well, the voices were great, but some songs just keep repeating, even though they're good.  The
battle system, my god, it is the absolute best out of every single RPG I ever played(and I've played quite a few).  I am about 20

this one could take me a few days more. Now lets see a Dragon warrior anthology plus a sequel.
Now all they need to add the thier sequel RPG's is a the abbilty to jump while in towns, dungeons ( adds more secrets and
hidden chars) and those map scenes, and a more 3-D battle setup. but great setup already.

All I can say about this game is that it's game of the year, and the year's only halfway through. It's perfection of the RPG genre.
This is THE best RPG you'll find on PSX, if you're willing to give its depth a try.
If you're a hardcore RPGer, buy it. Don't even rent it, just buy it right now because it's perfect.

This game is pretty sweet. It has a few flaws, for example, if you don't raise your levels alot, it can get really hard. The ability
system gets kind of repetitive and old after a while. But still I'd have to say this is the coolest
game I've played since FF7. Also, this is off the subject, I think FF8 doesn't sound all that great. Back on the subject, on a
scale of 1-10,(So far, I'm only 25 hours into it) I'd give it a 9.25.

I think this is a good game for the more experienced RPGer.  Manily because of the wide variety of puzzles in it and the challange

can go above level 99.
I do have one question though.  One the second floor of the Cave of Trials, which way do you turn the statues?  I've been playing

Enix's STAR OCEAN: THE SECOND STORY...lemme tell you, it's all I think about lately.  Renting it for a week cost me more than
five bucks--try five bucks plus a week's worth of sleep!  I haven't sacrificed my health like that since FINAL FANTASY VII, so you
better believe it's fantastic.  Innovative battle system, nice musical score, epic storyline, characters I love like family...even the CG
backgrounds rival those of FF7.  If you can get me to admit that, ME, the ultimate FF7 fanatic, then not only is SO2 worth buying--it
should be treasured like the purest gold.  I grand new title I can't get out of my mind.

Star Ocean is one of the top selling RPG's at the Babbages I work at, and in my personal ratings I would rate it second for top RPG's.
The top role playing games I think would have to be:
1.Final Fantasy Tactics(skills, story, and replay value)
2.Star Ocean(skills and replay value)
3.Final Fantasy 7(story, magic system, slight replay value, and challenging)
4.Xenogears(true 3D environment and good story)
5.Lunar:Silver Star Story Complete(excellent cut scenes, but low replay value)
This rating's would be because of story combined with replay value.  Graphics would follow later along with sound, but I believe the story
and replay value's to be most important.  Lunar and Xenogears are below Star Ocean because of the low replay value, Xenogears being
higher though because of the sound, graphics, and story line.  Star Ocean and Final Fantasy VII each have very similar graphics except
that in Star Ocean the characters aren't as rectangular and it uses a unique battle system.  Final Fantasy Tactics and Star Ocean have
high replay values also mostly because you can learn skills for the characters which will increase their chances of survival in battle.
If you do not own any of these games I would STRONGLY recommend buying at least some of them.  Well, that's all I have to say about that.

Since i start playing this game, the first 1/2 hour is rather too much dialogue but after that, I began to get hooked to the game because
of the gameplay and graphics. You dont even notice the loading for the battle and after the battle. For me, this game is  better than FF7
and it will make you get hooked to this game(if you can wait for the first 1/2 hour), so buy it. Rating for me -9.5 out of 10

Star ocean is an RPG that strived for more interactivity, the story line where your choices determine the characters who will join your
party and how the story eventually ends. Being able to split your group up before you enter a town and then meet up with them in the
town, gives the game somewhat of a deeper feel wich so many RPGs seem to lack that personal character interactivity. The battle
system depending on wich mode you select whether it be turnbased or fully interactive, operates like a simple fighting game that most
of the time works especially one on one. The dialogue is sharp but sometimes leaves you wanting to know more. The dungeons are
somewhat easy and are the same feel for every one.The different types of enemies is not very varied , you will find yourself fighting the
same type of enemies through out the entire game but with a different color scheme wich somewhat sways away from immersiveness
that the FF series did so well at.And the voice overs the game could have been with out. Overall solid gameplay , great graphics , and
an more interactive story makes Star Ocean Second Story a memorable and worth it RPG experience.

I rented this game a few days ago out of curiosity becuase I have never heard of it before.  I got home and 3 hours in to the game i was
already hooked and just had to play til the end. Im determind to find all 80 endings eventually.  For those that like RPGs the least you
can do is rent the game.  It is definately worth the time in my opinion.

The Game is Great.....But what the Hell is the Deal with all the Dialogue?
They could've cut 75% of the Dialogue and still gotten the same end result.
Other than that I like it.

I did not think any Rpg could impress me untill FF8 finally comes out in the U.S, but this game does more than prove me wrong.
Star Ocean:  2nd story is the perfect way to fill in any Rpg'ers time till FF8 comes out.  The graphics are as beautyful as FF7, the
battle system is a nice change from the usual turn based combat, and the replay value on this game is enormous.  I just started
my second time through it, and am realizing just how much there is to do! And about the story, it is not what you would really call
original, but the characters, subplots, and game depth are all more than great.
In the end, Star Ocean The Second Story is one of the best Rpgs to grace the Playstation with it's presence, and an experience
that not gamer should miss.

A great, addictive game. I just bought it 2 weeks ago and Im 40 hours into it with no end in sight. The game is fun to play and
has a lot of great features. The complicated issues like item creation and skill points are roughly explained but once you get the

is great and the characters rule! I am a big RPG lover and this game satifies the hunger...let me tell ya! For those of you waiting
for FF8 - wait! Get this game in the mean time! The colors are terrific! The Fmv 's are awesome!!! The game is rumored to take
up to 80 hrs to beat! That is a long game! It may even be longer! This game gets two thumbs up and both my feet at the same
time! It is one of the best rpgs out there! Huge World! Great quests! Challenging!

Well......we just bought the game and it seems cool so far.  The Graphics are good and the plot is cool.  I find some things hard
to read...like during battles.  And, I had trouble at first getting adjusted to the battles.  I would rather  search through drawers and
barrels rather than just look for big red chests, but it seems ok.  On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7.  Oh, I haven't gone far enough
that the music is getting to me as some had sugested, I think the music is cool.

So far, I've spent 20+ hrs. on the game and all I can say is that this is the most interesting RPG I'd played since Final Fantasy
VII.  Some magazine may give a low score for the game due to "sounds", but don't let that hold you from playing this game.
They had put many features into the game that would sure attract any RPG fan.  If you are really into RPGs this game is a
MUST and you wouldn't be disappointed.

Hint's:  Be sure to save the game everytime you enter a village or enter a private conversation scene.  There are many sub-quests
in this game and making different dicisions can lead to a different ending.

I think this is the best RPG since FF7. After playing the first one I thought this one was really going to stink. The first one had so
many flaws I thought that the next one wasn't going to get any better. Finally I read alot about the game and thought it had the
coolest plot to a game I have ever heard. One of the first things I noticed about the game was the high-resolution graphics. The
opening video was amazing. As I read onabout the game, I found out you can have up to 8 people in your party. I got this game
the day after reading about it. This is a must to your Playstation collection. I highly recomend this game it is the best game I
have ever played. I give it a 10/10.

First and foremost I'd like to say comment on the brilliance of this game.  I mean, who else has thought of a game so detailed
and so overwhelming that people stay at home for hours just to get through the next exciting challenge.  I for one would rate
this game above the likes of Xenogears and Final Fantasy 7.  Why you ask?  Well simply for the mere facts that the depth is
so much greater in my opinion.
Although Final Fantasy 7 shocked the world with it's breath taking graphics and involving storyline, Star Ocean:Second Story
did the same thing except in a different way.  Let's look at the facts here.....Star Ocean:Second Story includes great graphics,
a great storyline, the option of playing 2 different characters for different perspectives on the game, 40 different endings, deep
customization which includes altering weapons to better suit you, pickpocketing, artistry, writing, scouting, and much more.
The battle system is just amazing.  I love how you get your choice of not one, not two, but count 'em, three different options
of battles.  Moving about gives the gamer more freedom and a better sense of reality in a video game.
I think this game should and will be considered as one of the greatest RPG's of all time, right up there with sleeper hit Suikoden,
sensation FF7, LSSS, and a few other elite titles worthy of the praise of us gamers.
All in all, this game rocked the RPG business and gave great joy and pride to us thrill seekers in the video game business.  It
turned the if not already obsessive game player into a living zombie.  Go out and buy this game because your in for a great
gaming experience.  But what would a 14 year old RPG fanatic know?!  Go out and see for yourself.  Experience the what all the
other RPG fans already have, and live what it's all about.

I got the game a couple of days ago and so far I like the game. All I have to say is the game rocks!!! And I recomend you buy
the game!
I am not terribly far, but from what i've already gathered it is a *decent* game. Great graphics are what is most noticable to the
eye and fittingly the most salient aspect the game has to offer. And although the "skills creation system", and ability to refine
a character to ones liking aren't yet experienced by my hand, they look very promising and are sure to add a lot of depth to the
game (if I survive the cons. However, the cons are a nagging matter as that they seem *to* detract from what could have been
possibly one of this year's greatest role playing games. The combat is lopsided and requires nothing less than button mashing
(the overhead perspective needs work, too, as that it limits the distance you can see surrounding enemies in a broader plane) .
Then there is the stale dialogue (courteousy of a translation by SCEA); too much time is spent on the simplest of conservations,
like a commonplace GREETING. Furthermore, a complaint in itself no doubt for american gamers, there is AUDIO DIALOGUE
(the reoccuring misery origonally brought about by Tales of Destiny). The characters run off cheesy lines and there is NO option
to shut it off. (A fair warning, do not spend any points on the skill procation-YOU WILL REGRET IT!)
Final verdict:80% out of a 100(a solid game hardly worth more recognition then a mere rental).

WOW!!!,This has got to be one of the best rpg's I've ever owned, the graphics are awesome, and the battle scenes are the
coolest i've seen since tales of destiny. I've only played for a couple of hours but I can tell its gonna be an instant classic. The
original story line, along with individual character personalities and multiple endings make this a very unique rpg, I only regret
not being able to play the first one which was never released here in the U.S.
Sometimes I forget I'm playing an Enix game at all because it looks like something you would expect from a Square Soft game,
but out of all the Enix games I've played I have to say it's pretty damn impressive. I'd give it a '10'.

Great game.  All the while, I have started over 4 times just to see what happens when you try a new senerio (e.g. bringing another
character into battle against certian bosses). All in all a GREAT game.  Nothing beats the 3/2-D fighting- although some creatures
(the guys with the huge sheilds)are difficult to get around for the kill. Never will I underestimate an RPG that I have never heard of

Well, I never heard of this game until I went to the video store and rented it.  I must say I was astonished at how good this game is.
Although the game isn't necessarily 3-D based, the game looks rather good.  The characters are cool, and there are a wide range
of them.  Plus, there are many side stories and extras in the game that are good.  You can alter your character by raising certain
characteristics which give your character special abilities.  You can create crafting talents within your character, creating items,
altering weapons, copying items, compose music, write a book, draw art, and other things.  The diversity of the characters is rather
nice too.  My favorite character is Ashton, who is cursed because he is possessed by a pair of dragons.  Just about everything that
you do affects the outcome of the game, such as who you take with you along your journey, and who lives and who dies.  And that
isn't all.  You can choose one of two characters to be your main character, which changes the way the game is played.  There are
three methods to the combat system which you can choose, depending on how you like to do your battles.  You can control one
character while the computer controls the other three, which can set you up for many great team attacks.  Vicious bosses can
become pushovers if you have three swordsmen on all sides hacking away while you have the fourth consistently healing your
characters.  The only drawback that I can see to the fighting is that all physical attacks can only occur on the 2-D plane, which
means you have to be directly in front of or behind your target, but the spells can go in all directions.  I would definitely suggest
checking this game out if you like RPGs.  But, I always say rent first.

Star Ocean is a darn fine game.  The graphics are a nice treat for the eyes, but
the music could be improved upon.  The sound is kind of redundant, but i like
the in battle dialogue.  the story is getting way more developed, but due to all
the times you get side-tracked your priorities get mixed up.  on a scale of 1-10
i would give it a 8.5

I'd give the game about a 4.5 out of 5.  It was a great game, it had good character development and a decent story.  You can
choose to play as two characters, Rena or Claud.  The game has graphics similar to SaGa Fronteir.  The battle system is a 3D
active feild battle, similar to that of Tales of Destiny.  You control the main character in battle while the others are controled by
certain Strategies you give them.  The game has a very complex system of levels.  Everytime a character levels up you get
'skill points' which then may be divided any way you choose among certain abilities.  Once a combonation of these abilities is
reached the character will receive a 'specialty'.  These specialties can do many different things.  For example, 'Good Eye,
Kitchen Knife, and Recipie' will get you the 'Cooking' specialty.  This specialty allows you to create items using various ingrediants.
The character development and the story, with multiple endings, makes this game great.  The only thing that is not perffect is the
sound.  There are many songs that are repeated all the time, sometimes you are just so bored of it you turn off the sound.
Other that the sound, this game is a Keeper!

I enjoyed this game but found myself wanting more out of the dialogue, it was kinda weak.  They didn't explain many of the
things I was interested in like the story behind "The Warrior" (the explained a little bit about it but not much) at the beginning
of the game they just tell the basics of what the warrior's tale is (ex. warrior comes in time of suffering he has 'blade of light'...
that's pretty much they told you).  I only found myself having to actually think 3 times in the entire game... the rest was set
up for you! (a bit too linear). The battle engine kicked ass when it was set on real time. The voice samples were cool, and
the story (overall) was very well written. Star Ocean is great the first time but I doubt anyone will get even 15 of the 80 endings.
(minus FAQ writers and game reviewers/testers).  BUT BY NO MEANS PASS IT UP! especially if you have a younger sibling
that can't handle the more "mental" RpG games. Such as Lunar (Myghts tower without a guide.. good luck!)

All in all I think that this game is terrific.  The graphics look awesome for one,  the storyline and plot will keep you hooked,
good- looking cinematics, and a decent challenge.  I have always known Enix for producing killer RPG's like : Dragon warrior,
or Seventh Saga(which is the most difficult I've ever played). Then you have the classics like : Act Raiser, or Brain Lord. But to
say the least, this game is definately a "10" for me.

My hint isn't that great, and it's verrry mean.  Now, I'm not a professional PSX player--I'm not one of those people who know all about RPGS or anything . . . but I do LOVE this game!  Anyway, my tip is this.  If you're short on moolah when you meet Celine (the heraldry sorceress), sell off some of her jewelry.  It'll make you some dough quick, and plus, she never notices!  Okay, so that's not really a hint . . . but I leave all the good stuff to the pros--you guys rock, without you I wouldn't have made it past the first battle!

If you are low on FOL during the start of Star Ocean there is a mountain west of
Cross that isn't supposed to be explored until much later. just go to the mountain
and keep fighting the enemies on the first screen. if you are low on health,
just go to Cross and sleep at the inn. I managed to boost my characters from
level 7 to level 24 and earn WAY more than enough to money to buy the bandit's glove.

I've come across many first-timers of SO2 having a terrible time defeating the last boss, Indelecio--I've heard tell that one can only beat him, Limiter or no, at around level 220.  Just to ease the minds of fellow gamers, NO, YOU NEEDN'T BE THAT STRONG!  All you need is 2 of the good fighters (Claude, Dias, Ashton, Opera, Ernest...), a strong spell-caster (Celine, Leon), and Rena in your party, all at level 115.  Also, the 2 fighters and Rena should all be wearing Bunny Shoes (which can be won at Fun City's Bunny Races)...otherwise, when Indelecio teams up with Filia, they'll have MUCH trouble even keeping up with the enemy.  Other than that, just pack along about 15 Resurrection Mists, lots of Fruit and Fresh Syrups, and the obvious items like strong weapons and aromor, plus accessories protecting against the elements, and I guarantee, eventually you'll BEAT the bastards!  Good luck, and don't crap in your pants.  I nearly did...^_^

To get characters up to level one-hundred easily acquire the copy skill and copy forged medals, which can be found randomly with the mischief item, or made with reverse side.  Before using a forged medals equip the Dream Bracelet and then use the medals.  Fight a battle and gain the level up, and then un-equip the Dream Bracelet and you will need 0 experience for another level up(Basically gaining a double use from the Forged Medals).  Also it is very easy to use reproduction to copy the medals if you are at least level 10 in it and have the RIRICA camera.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

REMEMBER TOU MUST HAVE THE MAGICIANS GLOVE TO PICK PoCKET

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Become Extremely Powerful in a Relatively Short Time
There are several methods to become very powerful that are available quite early in the game, here are a few.

1.In the beginning of the game, there is a mountain dungeon that isn't meant to be faced until much later, thusly the enemies
will raise your characters' levels VERY quickly. At first they'll kick your butt, but with every victory you eke out, you'll
become stronger [kitchen knife skill makes things easier here, btw] you can build your characters to 3000 hp levels here
     with some work.

2.Make sure you learn pickpocket [poker face and courage skills] and save up 40,000 bucks. Make your way over to
Clik harbor and purchase a thief's glove. Now you can go on a world stealing tour, and get many things. Very notably,
there is a man in Mars who carries a treasure box, which when used will dispense three random items. Once you get it,
save your game and open it until you get what you want. Though it usually gives you items and such, it occasionally gives
you VERY powerful weapons including the Force Sword, the Sorceress Knuckle, and the very rare and powerful
     Marvel Sword.

3.Later in the game, in the colusseum, the A-class battle earns you right around 100,000 exp, and allows you to quickly
build levels until about level 105 [note: Level 90 is adequate to beat the limited version last boss]

4.On one of the snowy islands near Giveaway, there is a shop that sells magical rasp, which allows you to create the most
powerful weapons and armor in the game.

Cheaper Bandits Gloves
To save money when buying the Bandit's Glove go to Salva Mine and get the Cinderella Glass. Then make your way over to
Herlie. Use the Glass in the shop where you can buy the Bandits Glove and then the gloves will only be 30,000 FOL instead of
41,800 FOL!

Discovering Talents
When you learn the super specialty skill "Orchestra", and have enough songs and instruments for each character, use this skill
and for a short time, you will be able to create items without the necessary talents. (For Example: cooking without the talent
"Sense Of Smell".) While the song is playing, you will have the chance to learn a new talent by using your specialty skills. (For
Example: While the orchestra song is playing, use the cooking "Machinery" skill to learn the talents Dexterity and Sense of
Design.)

Easy Level Up
Use Reverse Side to make a forged medal, and then duplicate it as many times as you want to with Reproduction. The forged
medals bring a character to 1 point under a level up.

Easy Money
When you get your Super Specialty Skill "Master Chef" up to level 6 or higher, go to a store that sells fruits, vegetables, and
egg/dairy products. But 20 of each, then go to Super Specialty Skills and choose "Master Chef" in the item screen, then pick 1
fruit and 1 dairy. Every other try or so (depending on your skill level) you should create "Coconut Milk" which sells for overy
1000 Fol a piece!! You can also take 2 vegetables and make "Fried Vegetables" which sells for over 2000 Fol a piece!

Keep creating the food until you run out of ingredients then go sell everything you created, buy more ingredients and do it again
until you have the desired amount of money you want.

Easy Money with Aston
You will have to be on the second CD with Ashton in your party for this to work. Ashton will need to have "customize" at a
fairly high level and the Orchestra super skill will help a lot. Go to Central City and buy 20 Scythers. Make 20 Damascus (using
alchemy, it'll go a lot faster if you do this while orchestra is playing.)Then have Ashton customize the scyther with the damascus
(orchestra), it will make his most powerfull weapon, but you don't need 20 of em, sell them for about 1.5 million a piece.

Easy Skill Level Gain
For an easy way to level up skills, you need to level up the perserverance skill to level 10. After you do this, leveling up the
other skills will be much easier. For example making it where you can level up most skills with just one Skill Point.

Easy way 2 level 250
Once you are in the cave of trials, And defeated the Level 6 boss and recived the funny sword. Leave, save and go back to
floor 6. Make sure you have a few of the forged medals. But really all you have to do is stay in the dungeon looking for the
stone theives. They are worth over 30000 exp each and usually attack in 4s. I made Cluade Rena and Ashton Lv. 250 in a little
over 2 hours work.

Hidden Dungeon
Save in front of the last boss, and leave the final dungeon. Proceed to fun city and talk to the old man in the back area of the
colusseum. Say yes to all his questions, and you'll be transported back to expel, in Arlia. You'll notice two important things that
are different: 1.There is a penguin walking around where you appear, talk to him and call him silly, he'll kick you back to Nede.
2. When you leave, there will be a Synard waiting for you. Hop on it and head to the area you couldn't access without it, the
dungeon should be glowing with a red dot. Land and enter. The special dungeon is very tough, much harder than the regular last
Dungeon...in fact, you'll start out fighting harder enemies than you saw in the normal last dungeon on the very first floor.

Hidden Dungeon Tips
The Hidden dungeon is tough and interesting at the same time. There a various enemies here that have a word in front of their
name that are very tough...however, there are weapons [normally useless] that have that same word that wil kill the enemy with
one hit. Example:Lvl.99 Funny Thief...pretty tough, Lvl.99 Funny Thief when someone has the Funny Slayer...one hit kill. On
the sixth level, there will be a man who occasionally appears in the statue room. He sells very rare stuff, including all the rare
metals, the real tri-emblem [not the fake "emplem"], and items that can teleport you out of the dungeon....for you see, there are
no save points, so if you are on level 13 of the dungeon and die, your screwed, so you must leave to save on occasion, and
when you re-enter there will be methods of going down quickly, such as a trap door. The dungeon also contains very powerful
equipment, including [but not limited to] The Levantine Sword, Ashton's ultimate attack, Leon's ultimate attack, Celine's ultimate
attack, the angel armband, several pair of bunny shoes, and the valiant armor. As far as monsters go, from around level 3
onward, you may run into boss class monsters as normal fights...you can even run into the last boss of the dungeon as a normal
enemy, so be careful.

Priest's Password
In the demon's den there is a glass priest who asks you for the special word necessary to get the cardkey. The password is
APOCA.

Rip Off Santa
Here is a simple cheat that will help you purchase those majorly overpriced Santa Boots (10,000,000 Fol) from Santa, the
wandering merchant on the 6th floor of the Cave of Trials. First off, you have to meet him. Santa will appear randomly on Level
6, usually by the statues of the thieves so if he isn't there the first time, try leaving the dungeon and comming back. When you
finally meet up with him, he will sell Sage's Stones for 50,000 Fol a piece and buy them back for 65,000 Fol. Buy 20 Sage's
Stones and sell them right back to him for a 15,000 Fol profit!! Now, if you have the super specialty command Identify All, you
can make a 45,000 Fol profit by buying low and selling high! I just wonder if I'll get that Eternal Sphere I wanted for Christmas?

The Ring of Happiness
When you are told to go to the town of Cross for the first time, stop in Alen's house on your way through. Talk to him twice.
The second time he should give you the "Ring of Happiness".

The Ultimate Item
When you have Master Chef level 8 or higher, use vegetables with egg/dairy products and if the combo of ingredients is correct,
you will recieve a "Fruit Nectar" which restores 100% HP and MP, or which sells for 109,000 FOL!

Two Levels for the Price of One
You must have two items in your inventory for this to work: "Forged Medals" and the "Dream Bracelet." (I suggest reproducing
medals until you have many). Equip the Dream Bracelet on the character you wish to level. Now use a Forged Medal on that
character. De-equip the Dream Bracelet. After the next battle, you will gain two levels, at the cost of only one Forged Medal.

Universal Difficulty Level
If you get over 45% of the voice clips, which is about 600 or so, a new 'Universal' difficulty level will open up. Enemy HP and
Attack power is doubled in this mode.
