At long last Sega Rally 2 has arrived

To begin, for those of you who are
unfamiliar with Sega Rally 2, it's
essentially an updated version of
the original with vastly improved
graphics and physics. The arcade
version was released in Japan
more than a year ago on the Model
3 architecture. Although well
received, the arcade version was
still plagued by a lack of available
tracks and vehicles.

In terms of graphics, the
Dreamcast version is slightly
flawed, although decidedly
impressive. All of the vehicle
models appear proportionate on
screen, looking remarkably smooth
considering the development time.
The tracks are in interesting
mixture of exotic locations,
individually sporting varied
degree's of weathering effects and
terrain composition. To be perfectly
honest, while I wasn't instantly
impressed by the graphics in the
earlier Desert levels, I was simply
blown away by the level of detail in
the 'Muddy' and 'Isle' levels.
Graphical nuances such as
real-time skids, headlights, and
weathering effects are ever-present
in the Dreamcast version. The
in-game changes your vehicles
endures had me particularly
surprised. While your vehicles won't
sustain any physical damage, it can
become rather dirty depending
upon the respective track. On the
whole, the Dreamcast version is
every bit as impressive as the
arcade.

Bonus Section in Riveria
In arcade mode you can access a special section of the track in the Riveria stage. First, select Arcade Mode and choose either
practice or championship.

When you reach the Riveria stage, take note of the final 90 degree turn in the track (just before the final straight). There would be
2 red cones. Knock both of them down. After you have knock them down, you will hear two distinct tones, saying that the hidden
section of the track have been opened.

Turn the car around, then look carefully on the car's right. An entrance would've been open. Drive right through, and you will enter
a special point stage, where you will need to drive your car around and knock cones down to gain points.

Points gathered will not have any effect on the gameplay, therefore it is just a fun little bonus.

Camera Tricks
While selecting car at car select screen you can manipulate the view of the car using the digital controller. Just press it in the
direction you would like the car to rotate to.

Also you can change the view of the car during the instant replays. Just hit the a button so that you are at the behind the car view.
Using the digital pad you can rotate the camera angle as you please.

Plus, while in the driver's view on the replays you can hit down on the digital controller to get the originial behind the car view that
you see during the race.

Constant 30fps Tip
Put in both the 30fps code and the 60fps code. This gives you less detail, but a solid 30fps with ZERO slowdown. The 30fps code
still had slowdown otherwise.

zoom in and out of the car for a change in distance during the replay.

Less detailed tracks with a faster display rate
Press Y or R when making a choice on the track or mode selection screen. The track will be less detailed and the race timer will
