--------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a great game.Anyone can pick up the game and start playing with out experence start racing and doing well with out 3 days of practice unlike Gran Turismo.The graphics are the best i have seen on any system with great lighing efects and car models this game should be in every racing fans home.The two player mode is fun but nothing really special,it looks good but is harder to play with a poor camera in the two player mode.Gran Turismo looks great but is to hard for most avid game fans to get into.Ridge Racer Type 4 has a lot more of an arcade fell to it not so realistic, the only complaint about the physics is the fact if you hit the wall your car slows down tramendisly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- For four player mode you must have 2 playstations, a link cable, and four controllers.All you have to do is link up the playstations and plug all four controllers and turn it on then you will have a secret mode that you will see in the main menu.I think it is called link mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Every time they move up to pass you, make sure they bump your back fender. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The newest game in the Ridge Racer series (and hopefully not the last) is the best racing game I've come across yet. Graphically the game is superior with only Gran Tourismo to challenge it. There are 320 or so extra cars to earn in Grand Prix mode depending on your wins and losses throughout the game. There is an Extra Trial mode which enables you to collect secret cars that aren't available through the Grand Prix. Gameplay is smooth and easy, those new to the Ridge Racer series won't have to spend hours trying to figure out the controls, whilst Ridge Veterans will still find challenge enough in the harder difficulty settings. The addition of a storyline in the Grand Prix (determined by certain factors such as team selection and wins/losses in the season) only adds to the games charm. The replay value of this game is also high, players who become obsessed over trying to get all the cars will undoubtedly spend months on this game. Despite the fact that there is no tuning ability as in Gran Tourismo, it doesn't take away from the game at all. The soundtrack is typical for a Ridge game, high-tempo technic-type that succeeds in getting your pulse to match your car's RPMs. The enemy AI isn't too impressive as they seem to race the same way every lap, but this by no means guarentees you an easy ride. Its a nice game with awesome graphics, but the game play is still nothing compared with GT. | Bird Guide
While playing R4 on the course "Heaven & Hell" if you push left right right right very quickly on the control pad before the countdown clock says 3 a large bird will swoop down over your car and lead your way down the track for as long as you can keep up with him. This code is a bit tricky because you have to be quick and Ive only been able to get it to work in Grand Prix Mode so far. Extra Trial Mode
